With the increased worldwide popularity of social networking services (SNSs), the leakage of a user's private information is becoming a serious problem. An increased number of users now have multiple accounts on various social networks and they tend to use each account to write different user experiments. Aggregating information from different accounts leads to the unintended leakage of personal information. Therefore, we argue that SNS users should be vigilant in protecting the relationship between multiple accounts. In this paper, we propose the use of Account Reachability, a measure of privacy risk which demonstrates the possibility of a stranger finding a user's private account based on information in their public account. In addition, we present ARChecker, a tool to calculate the value of account reachability. ARChecker also provides advice on how to modify the user's profiles and messages to decrease the privacy risk. By checking the privacy measure and modifying the profiles and messages of their SNS accounts, users can protect their multiple accounts from the risk of an unintended leakage of personal information. © 2013 ACM.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the factors affecting the passenger traffic volume on the high-capacity MRT, to analyze the traffic volume trends, and to make traffic volume predictions more accurately. This paper uses the LSTM (Long Short-term Memory) model and regression analysis for Taipei MRT passenger traffic volume prediction. The training data, including dates, temperatures and number of passengers, were collected, and a regression analysis was performed to find trends in the data. © 2022 IEEE.

He received a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Maryland and a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from West Virginia University. From 1984 to 1997 he was employed at the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division Annapolis Detachment (formerly David Taylor Research Center) where he worked on the development of advanced centrifugal compressor air conditioning plants for shipboard applications. He received the Stratospheric Ozone Protection Award in 1998 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in recognition of his exceptional leadership and technical achievements in eliminating ozone-depleting substances from Navy ships. He is licensed as a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Texas. David A. Breslin P.E.:is the Director of Technical Operations for the Naval Surface Warfare Center and is the Chairperson of the ASNE Committee on Environmental Engineering. He received a master of science in aerospace engineering from Virginia Tech in 1991 a master of engineering administration in industrial & systems engineering from Virginia Tech in 1991 and a bachelor of engineering in mechanical engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology in 1985. From 1993 to 1997 he was the program manager of the Naval Sea Systems Command's CFC & Halon Elimination Program. Because of his many efforts he received a Stratospheric Ozone Protection Award in 1995 from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in recognition of “exceptional contributions to global environmental protection”. Gregory P. Brunner:was employed by the Carderock Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center and Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) from 1983 until 1997. From 1993 to 1997 he served as the R&D program manager for the NAVSEA CFC & Halon Elimination Program Office. Program efforts resulted in the development of new refrigerants for backfit into existing shipboard air-conditioning

The domestic production of the most powerful Ozone-Depleting Substances (ODSs) has permanently ceased and the abundant supplies of a number of inexpensive refrigerants, fire-fighting agents, and solvents, once taken for granted, are now a thing of the past. The Navy's original strategy of conserving ODSs, converting systems and processes where feasible, relying on strategic reserves where necessary, and developing "ozone-friendly" equip ment for new-design surface ships and submarines is succeeding. The purpose of this paper is to document the Navy's efforts to date relative to combating the threat to uninterrupted Fleet operations posed by the cessation of ODS production. Specifically, this paper addresses the Navy's shipboard conversion programs for air-conditioning and refrigeration (AC&R) systems, the development of next-generation AC&R systems, the selection of halon substitutes for new-construction fire-fighting systems, and the Navy's alternative to CFC-113 in the cleaning of critical oxygen systems.

This study focuses on the brainwave analysis of the correlation between listening to the rain and water sounds and reducing human-perceived temperature. Brainwave changes are monitored when experimental subjects listen to rain and water sounds at various frequencies. The experiment result shows that listening to the sounds of rain and water in an environment of high temperature and high humidity can boost α waves to induce feelings of calm and relaxed mental state. In order to investigate subjects’ psychological and physiological changes induced by brainwave changes while listening to rain and water sounds for different time durations in a high temperature and humidity environment, this study uses the Fourier transform to obtain the spectra of natural rain/water sounds and analyzes the sound frequencies. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Nowadays, the use of accelerators in high performance computing has become more common than ever before. The most used accelerators must be the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU). This paper proposes a "robot tele-teaching system using a VR device" as a new robot teaching method to replace the conventional robot teaching method. Currently we still need teach-pendant to teach industrial robots. It is very inconvenient method. Our novel method consists of two robots and a VR device. One robot is on site instead of the operator. A stereo camera is attached to its end of the robot, which realizes a 3D positionand posture obtained from HMD. The operator can then view the images through the HMD as if he/she are on site. The other manipulating robot is equipped with a gripper and can follow the position and orientation of the gripper-like input device held by the operator. This system is equipped with a correction and auto-teaching function that uses the geometric characteristics of the work object. This significantly reduces the time required for operation. In addition, the teaching points obtained by this system have been successfully used for playback in a real environment.

This paper mentions an approach which composes melodies reflecting user's feelings by interactive genetic algorithms. One melody corresponds to a chromosome containing the information such as tone color, tune, the number of notes and the length of notes. Melodies are composed by the use of GA operations. A user listens to presented melodies and evaluates them whether they fit with his/her image of the melody or not. This evaluation process is performed not by objective fitness functions but by humans. Therefore, this approach uses the interactive GA. The chromosome with the best evaluation is chosen as an elite. Elite characteristics are inherited to chromosomes in the next generation. These procedures are repeated until the user finds a melody fitting with the image of the melody. Experiments are carried out in order to confirm the usefulness of the presented approach. The experimental results show that the presented approach composes melodies reflecting user's feelings.

This study proposed a novel extraction method of c-Fos protein regions in DAB(3,3'-diaminobenzidine)-stained mouse brain slice images using the U-Net model combined with the multi-channelization and 1×1 convolution techniques. Our U-Net m odel, called 1× 1 conv U-Net, was applied to three DAB- strainedmouse slice images whose resolutions were 1000x1000 pixels. The experimental results demonstrated that the 1×1 conv U-Net outperformed the conventional U-Net. © 2024 IEEE.

The main purpose of this research is to evaluate the impact of maturity in quality management systems on assets, income and current ratio in companies of the hotel sector in the city of Barranquilla and its metropolitan area, based on the analysis of the level of maturity of the system and the application of multivariate statistical models. To achieve this, the Business Management strategies of this sector were characterized, based on a structured model of variables and based on field data referring to a representative sample of companies in the sector (n = 64). With this information, the determining factors in the level of maturity of the quality management systems were identified, which allowed to know if the processes developed in a management system, such as these, in the Hotel Sector, impact positively or negatively on the performance of the sector’s companies based on assets, income and the current ratio by means of a multiple regression model, since, although these processes are being implemented, there are no current studies that evidence the contributions to the performance of the sector’s companies. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In order to automate the work in a garment factory, we developed a method of single sheet separation from piled fabrics by a roller hand mechanism with a rotating mechanism added to the tip of a robot hand. As a result, we succeeded in separating only single sheet of fabrics with a high probability. It is necessary to eliminate failures for practical use. However, it is difficult to eliminate failure completely due to the characteristics of fabrics. We also devised a method to judgement the success or failure of the separation to improve the reliability of the operation. As a result, the thickness of the fabric could be accurately measured and the confidence level was successfully improved.
