Cultivation of tomato plants in Indonesia has been started since *** generally will rot in three days if left on storage. Moreover, low quality tomatoes have cheaper price. After harvested, tomatoes need to be treated by drying process so it can last longer. Energy for drying tomatoes can be obtained by utilizing heat from geothermal brine. Purpose of this research is to design a tomato drying system by extracting heat of geothermal brine from separator with certain flow rate to heat up water by using a heat exchanger. Furthermore, this water will be used to heat up the surrounding air which is circulated by blower system to heat up the tomatoes chamber. Tomatoes drying process needs temperature range of 50-70°C to evaporate water content from 95.7% to 26%. After that treatment, the tomatoes are expected to have better durability. The objective of this study is to determine the quantity of hot brine which is needed for drying tomatoes and to design a drying system so that tomatoes can last longer.

The modular robot is constructed by the same shape and function module. The robot can transform and exchange, because it is multiple modules and function. In previous paper, we manufactured the module by 3D printer, and evaluated the mechanical function of the simple module and modular robot. In this paper, the module is miniaturized and joint parts are improved. Joint parts are used tenon joint in place of ball joint. Additionally, we confirmed the validity of the driving modular robot by comparing the previous.

Experimental Study of Isothermal Plate Uniformity for Blood Warmer Development using Geothermal Energy

This research was conducted to assess the direct use of geothermal energy for blood warmer. The heating plate was made form aluminium plates with dimensions of 100 x 200 mm and then fed from the hot water heater. Tests were conducted in the laboratory where geothermal source water is replaced with the heat generated from the heater. The hot water from the heater in the temperature range 55°C - 60°C flowed into vertical chamber. Setting the temperature of the hot water heater is done by changing the flow of hot water coming out of the heater. Results showed that the value of a standard deviation of plate temperature was about 0.42 °C, so it can be said isothermal accordance with design requirement and objective. The test data used for the analysis of the manufacture of the heating plate in the blood warmer to regulate the discharge of hot water at intervals of 21.47 mL/s to 24.8 mL/s to obtain a temperature of 37.20 °C - 40.15 °C. Geothermal energy has the potential for blood warmer because blood warmer is part of the energy cascade in a temperature range of 40°C to 60°C

In this paper,computational fluid dynamics（CFD） method is used to research and compare the inhalation pressure drop reduction and heart rate prediction for APR and *** was improved according to the dual inlets of APR,which does not feature a one-way inhalation *** results indicate that the inhalation pressure drop of APR（22.2 Pa,85 L/min） is 82.3% lower than that of APR（125.4 Pa）.Consider the case of APR mounted with canister A and B,the inhalation pressure drop of APR mounted with dual canister B（206.4 Pa,85 L/min） is 61.2% lower than that of APR mounted with canister B（531.5 Pa）.Using Li's prediction equation of inhalation pressure drop and heart rate,under high exercise condition of P = 120 W,the predicted Hr/Hrmax for APR mounted with dual canister B is 74.3%,which is 8.6% lower than the experimental value of APR mounted with canister A（82.9%）.In addition,the Hr/Hrmax is lower than the anaerobic threshold（Hr/Hrmax = 80%）,thereby preventing fatigue in users resulting from anaerobic *** results verified that the dual inlets design substantially reduce inhalation pressure drop while decelerating users' heart rate.

The skill succession method is almost oral. It is not quantitative but qualitative. Quantitative succession is difficult. In this research, after tracking of a subject's motion using RGBD camera, a subject's motion is visualized as the motion curved surface. Expert and beginner perform the sports and entertainment motion, and the character of the surface is analyzed. The character is the maximum curvature and surface area. In addition, we suggest the composite surface, because one RGBD camera is not all tracking motion by occluding the obstacle or subject' body parts. Finally, we confirm the validity of skill succession by watching skeleton motion movie and curved surface.

Rotating bending loading and axial loading fatigue tests were conducted to investigate the effect of zirconia shot peening on fatigue properties of Ti-6Al-4V ELI alloy. Specimen was treated in three different shot peening conditions. As a result of the rotating bending fatigue tests, the fatigue lives of shot peened specimen were longer life than non-peened specimen. Fish eyes were observed in the fracture surface of the most shot peened specimen. And there was the facet of α-Ti or the fine granular region near the crack initiation site of the fish eye. And then, fracture morphology of shot peened specimens is different by peening conditions. From the result of axial loading fatigue tests, it becomes obvious that the facet of α-Ti was formed by action of tensile stress over 500MPa without compressive stress and that the fine granular region was formed by action of compressive stress. These results suggested that low level tensile residual stress existed at subsurface near the surface of the SP treated specimen, and the residual stress distribution decided on internal crack origin type between the facet of α-Ti or the fine granular region. © 2016 The Society of Materials Science, Japan.

The present paper focuses on the effect of air jets through a perforated thin plate on the characteristics of an acoustic absorption coefficient. We measured the flow rate, internal pressure, acoustic pressure, and transfer function by using an improved acoustic impedance tube. The normal incidence absorption coefficient was calculated from the measured transfer function using transfer function methods. As a result, the frequency characteristics of the acoustic absorption coefficient against the frequency showed a maximum value at the local frequency. The peak frequency of the acoustic absorption coefficient depended on the thickness of the background air space and the thickness of the perforated plate. As the flow rate increased through the micropores, the peak level of the acoustic absorption coefficient also increased until a flow rate of 80?l /min. As the flow rate further increased, the peak level of the acoustic absorption coefficient decreased and that of the high frequency band increased.

This paper proposes a sequential framework to explore the possibility of human form robots motion rendering models to express emotions inspired by the mechanisms of real-time emotional locus of music signals. The music emotion system progressively extracts the features of music and characterizes music-induced emotions in an emotion plane to trace the real-time emotion locus of music. Five feature sets are extracted from the WAV file of music. Feature-weighted scoring algorithms continuously mark the trajectory on the emotion plane. The boundaries of four emotions are demarcated by Gaussian mixture model. A graphic interface represents the tracking of dynamic emotional locus. The music emotion locus and robot movement are integrated and analyzed by the modified Laban movement analysis. The robot controller organized with multi-modal whole-body awareness of music emotions gave rise to robot's autonomous locomotion.

This paper proposes a guide system which uses an intended hand force of a robotic guide for elderly and visually impaired people. In general, we lead these people by the hand with a different way according to the situation. For example, we lead these people strongly and rapidly for avoiding a dangerous situation. For realizing our proposed system, this paper describes the following two key topics. The first, we analyze a hand movement, which leads the other person in each situation, and investigate the characteristics of it which the follower can estimate the intention of the leader according to the situation. From our investigation, the minimum jerk trajectory model can appropriate the velocity references of a hand movement and timing of peak velocity during one hand motion tends to show the intention of its leader. The second, we design the velocity references of a hand movement based on the analysis results and for verify its effectiveness, we implement the proposed idea to our prototype robotic guide. Using our idea, our guide robot can show the situation of the surrounding environment to its follower by a hand movement.

The light guide rod (LGR) has been popularly used for the vehicles, and the automobile lamp industries need mass production to match this trend. This paper aims to develop a systemic way to find the best parameters' combination for the LGR, and the parameters are usually restricted (existing October 11, 2012) to some levels and random values. In this paper, the LGR example with two optical performances of illuminance flux and uniformity is to be optimised by use of the real-coded genetic algorithm (RGA) and grey relational analysis (GRA). The illuminance flux and uniformity of the best parameters' combination are obtained and compared with the initial set. Comparisons with Taguchi-Grey can improve 5% of gain and comparisons with Pareto genetic algorithm (PaGA) can improve 1.7% of gain .The combined multi-objective optimisation can save 7% time and it is found that the new proposed method has positive gains in performances.
