Cryptanalysis and improvement of the measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution with hyper-encoding

Recently, Cui et al. [Sci. China Phys. 62, 110311 (2019)] proposed a measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution (MDI-QKD) scheme based on high-dimensional encoding to increase the channel capacity of each individual photon. A secret key is shared among two legitimate parties via the help of a dishonest third-party (TP). They claimed that the proposed protocol can improve the drawback of the low-key generation rate that existed in the past MDI-QKD schemes. However, this study pointed out a loophole during the security check of TP. That is, the two legitimate participants merely use the corresponding qubit pairs that are both generated in the diagonal basis for the discussion, which leads to a potential attack that not only allows TP to avoid the security check but also creates partial inconsistency of key bits for both communicating sides. Fortunately, this problem can be fixed by a minor correction of the protocol. © World Scientific Publishing Company.

Background: To evaluate the effect of the weighting of input imaging combo and ADC threshold on the performance of the U-Net and to find an optimized input imaging combo and ADC threshold in segmenting acute ischemic stroke (AIS) lesion. Methods: This study retrospectively enrolled a total of 212 patients having AIS. Four combos, including ADC-ADC-ADC (AAA), DWI-ADC-ADC (DAA), DWI-DWI-ADC (DDA), and DWI-DWI-DWI (DDD), were used as input images, respectively. Three ADC thresholds including 0.6, 0.8 and 1.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s were applied. Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) was used to evaluate the segmentation performance of U-Nets. Nonparametric Kruskal–Wallis test with Tukey–Kramer post-hoc tests were used for comparison. A p <.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The DSC significantly varied among different combos of images and different ADC thresholds. Hybrid U-Nets outperformed uniform U-Nets at ADC thresholds of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s and 0.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s (p <.001). The U-Net with imaging combo of DDD had segmentation performance similar to hybrid U-Nets at an ADC threshold of 1.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s (p =.062 to 1). The U-Net using the imaging combo of DAA at the ADC threshold of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s achieved the highest DSC in the segmentation of AIS lesion. Conclusions: The segmentation performance of U-Net for AIS varies among the input imaging combos and ADC thresholds. The U-Net is optimized by choosing the imaging combo of DAA at an ADC threshold of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s in segmentating AIS lesion with highest DSC. Matrix factorization (MF) technique has been widely utilized in recommendation systems due to the precise prediction of users' interests. Prior MF-based methods adapt the overall rating to make the recommendation by extracting latent factors from users and items. However, in real applications, people's preferences usually vary with time;the traditional MF-based methods could not properly capture the change of users' interests. In this paper, by incorporating the recurrent neural network (RNN) into MF, we develop a novel recommendation system, M-RNN-F, to effectively describe the preference evolution of users over time. A learning model is proposed to capture the evolution pattern and predict the user preference in the future. The experimental results show that M-RNN-F performs better than other state-of-the-art recommendation algorithms. In addition, we conduct the experiments on real world dataset to demonstrate the practicability. © 2019 IEEE.

The mangrove ecosystem is one of the unique and distinctive ecosystems because it is a compelling natural resource. However, in the current era, many people are greedy, resulting in the conversion of mangrove land, which causes a decrease in the area of the mangrove ecosystem. This study aims to determine changes in the extent of the mangrove ecosystem in Karimunjawa National Park and the appropriate rehabilitation efforts there. The method used in this research is a case study with descriptive analysis. Data collection techniques used literature studies from several related research sources whose research locations were in the Karimunjawa National Park. The collected data were then analyzed using the SWOT method. The main priority to be chosen as the primary strategic plan to repair damage and rehabilitate mangroves in Karimunjawa National Park is to establish synergistic cooperation between the implementation of government programs and the wishes of the local community through revitalizing coastal areas due to abrasion by replanting mangrove trees. This alternative strategy is a Strength-Threats (ST) strategy, where strength is maximized to overcome threats.

The role of information technology in sports organizations is important to analyze all aspects including how to win in the competition based on various internal and external factors. The approach that used to enhance the sports organizations is sports science, which is a concept that contributes to the development of athletes by collaborating in many fields and studies, such as anatomy, physiology, psychology, engineering, chemistry, etc. The approach of Sport science articulates the technology that blended on all of the approached. Currently, the use of sports technology or science in Indonesia is also very low in all sports categories. Usually, the management and coaches look at player statistics based on manual data or reports to view player statistics periodically. There is still a lack of exploration to use player statistics to be used by coaches to improve the ability of the players and the organization. This research will propose how to develop sports science with a business intelligence approach that used the Kimball data mart approach as decision support in the field of sports so that management and coaches can apply the correct approach to improve the capacity of players and organizational development. The result of this study will provide the model of sports science that can be implemented for a professional sports organization in Indonesia.

Reinforcement Learning (RL) is an extraordinarily paradigm that aims to solve a complex problem. This technique leverages the traditional feedforward networks with temporal-difference learning to overcome supervised and unsupervised real-world problems. However, RL is one of state-of-the-art topic due to the opaque aspects in design and implementation. Also, in which situation we will get performance gain from RL is still unclear. Therefore, This study firstly examines the impact of Experience Replay in Deep Q-Learning agent with Self-Driving Car application. Secondly, The impact of Eligibility Trace in RNN A3C agents with Breakout AI game application is studied. Our results indicated that these two techniques enhance RL performance by more than 20 percent as compared with traditional RL methods. © 2019 IEEE.

Sports science can have a significant and positive impact on coaches and athletes, as well as for the professional sports organization. According to this situation, more and more organizations are competing to implement sports science as the monitoring systems. Along with the development of technology, it becomes easier for humans to carry out their activities, including communication with each other. Advances in the field of communication technologies have led to the use of social networks to support all activity. With social media, all kinds of information that people want to search for can be found easily. Social networks have their uniqueness in their characteristics. Like LINE has free calling and video calling features, while Instagram has features like Instagram Story, where users can document their activities in the form of photos or recordings. By all the characteristics of social networks, it will support the activity of sports science. The methodology of this research focused on quantitative research based on the T-test approach. The result shows that social media involvement can significantly support collaboration in sports science, so it can increase people's motivation to interact with other participants in sport organizations.

Analysis of denial of service attack on web security systems

In this study, an analysis of the Web security system from a Denial-of-Service Attack (DoS) with SYN Attack, Ping of Death, Land Attack, Smurf Attack and UDP Flood types. The server computer that will be tested for DoS attacks is a local web server including *** IP: 54.169.71.56, *** IP: 104.152.168.14, *** IP: 156.67.210.132, *** IP: 202.162. 207,101 and *** with IP Address 213.136.83.52 port 80. The attack on the local web server computer was carried out through attacking cloned computers as many as 5 zombie computers and then observing data traffic on each Web server computer. The test results use ping to the local web server computer, where the target web server sends a replay request time out and the check results in the Google Chrome browser are slow to inaccessible conditions. Ping access time the greater the packet, the greater the average time when accessing a local web server with 5,000 packets is 242.68 seconds, 10,000 packets is 310.28 seconds, 20,000 packets are 337.4 seconds, 30,000 packets are 377.2 seconds, 40,000 packets are 398.4 seconds, 50,000 packets are 545.4 seconds and 100,000 packets are above 600 seconds with the condition that the web server will recover after 600 seconds where the system recovery process depends on each local web server.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of secretarial, financial and staffing information systems at the Directorate General of AHU, known as the E-PASTI system. There are two variables analysed, namely system quality and information quality. Data collection using questionnaires that distributed to 123 employees who used the E-PASTI system but returned 93 questionnaires. Data quality analyst uses descriptive quantitative method. The results of the study are several conditions related to the system and information quality of E-PASTI. The quality can be a reference for the AHU Directorate General to improve the quality of E-PASTI that suits the needs of employees.

Global warming due to excessive emission greenhouse gases is a significant issue faced by humanity, and collectively, cars and trucks contribute about 20% to the entire global-warming gases. For a reason, recently, many attempts have been endured to reduce the emission and to increase fuel efficiency, including vehicle platooning, better driving strategy, and increasing engine efficiency. This study intends to provide a more detail assessment regarding the effects of the driving strategy to fuel consumption. For the purpose, the vehicle dynamics are quantified by employing the car-following model based on the optimal velocity model. The fuel consumption is estimated from the regression model of Ahn 18 . The result suggests that the braking distance strongly affects fuel consumption.
