Alert and Response of Earthquake and Tsunami for Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction

Indonesia had been suffered by earthquake and tsunami for many centuries. Since many lives have taken by tsunami strikes, alert and response system are very important as important part of Disaster Risk Reduction, especially in area with high population density. This research conducted in Kangkung fishing village in Bandar Lampung coastal area which is an earthquake and tsunami prone area. The aim of the research is to study alert and response of Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction. The research conducted by qualitative method and purposive-descriptive approach. There were 53 respondents which participated in the survey and interview. It is reported that 'Smart Resilient City' model suitable for community needs of alert and response of earthquake and tsunami disaster. This research meets conclusion that 'Smart Resilient City' model may become a great solution in Community Based Disaster Risk Reduction to cope with the hazard of earthquake and tsunami comprehensively and sustainably.

Effect of Turbidity, Temperature and Salinity of Waters on Depth Data from Airborne LiDAR Bathymetry

The influence of seawater parameters cannot be ignored when conducting bathymetric LiDAR (Laser Induced Detection and Ranging or Light Detection and Ranging) surveys such as turbidity, temperature, and salinity. Turbidity affects the attenuation diffusion coefficient of the green laser is penetrating the air column. The comparison of LiDAR bathymetric depth with Secchi disk depth is used as a reference in determining the effect of turbidity. The results are in locations with primarily clear water the ability of LiDAR can penetrate up to 7m, while in turbid waters up to 3m. On average, the ability of the green laser LiDAR bathymetry can penetrate the waters of 1.5-2 times the depth at the location of this study around the bay of Lampung Indonesia. Other water parameters are temperature and salinity. These parameters are used to calculate the refractive index value of water. The Different temperature and salinity values in a water column can result in differences in the accuracy of the bathymetry LiDAR depth of 4-6mm. The influence of water column parameters can be a concern in planning and processing airborne LiDAR altimetry (ALB) surveys.

Hoax is defined as a try to convince any readers to believe particular deception. A news frequently spreads on social media. Hoaxes news is engineered to meet a personal purpose and caused by predefined factors. In Indonesia, one of the top discussions is about hoax news related to natural disasters spread through social media. Some people have been sentenced to jail because of making and spreading hoax news. To date, the internet community is unable to distinguish hoax news from the actual news. This is because there is no available tool to detect hoaxes. Therefore, this paper propose an initiative to have a hoax detection application in Android-based devices by using the web scraping technique to extract data downloaded from the inputted URL with a simplified interface. The retrieved data are optimized by utilizing Nazief-Adriani stemming algorithm and analyzed by using Rabin-Karp algorithm.

Genetic Algorithm in Image Inserting with Modified Least Significant Bit Method to Find The Best MSE Value

Inserting data into digital media tends to change the large size of the media cover file, this is because the inserted pixel has a different size from the insertion value, i.e. with a larger or smaller value, for example a pixel value of 10 is inserted with larger or smaller data from the value 10. So that the pixel value is getting further from the value of 10, this causes the value of Mean Squared Error (MSE) of the media of the cover (cover) to become larger. In this study, the selection of pixels in the image is in accordance with the value of the insertion data as the insertion place with the Genetic algorithm (GA). Insertion of data on selected pixels using the GA algorithm is performed using the Modified Least Significant Bit (MLSB) algorithm at the position of the least significant bits. To find out the reliability of the proposed algorithm, the data insertion experiment was carried out by comparing the conventional LSB algorithm with the proposed algorithm where the results obtained a significant MSE value, i.e. the average MSE value of the LSB algorithm was 20.54 and the proposed algorithm was 7.12.

The existence of various PHP frameworks may become one alternative choice in developing a web application that PT XYZ wants to evaluate its Wisanggeni internal PHP framework in order to measure how far the design quality of Wisanggeni framework is working. An evaluation on PHP framework using object-oriented metric parameter and design quality is then conducted in this research. The results of measurement conducted using object-oriented metric parameters for each framework are evaluated with the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method to determine the best framework model design quality used as a reference for the development of Wisanggeni. This study also uses a combination of PHPDepend and PHPMetrics devices to measure the values of object-oriented metrics in each PHP framework. The research final result is that each framework has one value representing each framework's quality in which the quality of Wisanggeni framework is almost to the same with the Laravel and CodeIgniter framework.

Objective: Mobile nutrition applications (apps) provide a simple way for individuals to record their diet, but the validity and inherent errors need to be carefully evaluated. The aim of this study was to assess the validity and clarify the sources of measurement errors of image-assisted mobile nutrition apps. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study with 98 students recruited from School of Nutrition and Health sciences, Taipei Medical University. A 3-d nutrient intake record by Formosa Food and Nutrient Recording App (FoodApp) was compared with a 24-h dietary recall (24-HDR). A two-stage data modification process, manual data cleaning, and reanalyzing of prepackaged foods were employed to address inherent errors. Nutrient intake levels obtained by the two methods were compared with the recommended daily intake (DRI), Taiwan. Paired t test, Spearman's correlation coefficients, and Bland–Altman plots were used to assess agreement between the FoodApp and 24-HDR. Results: Manual data cleaning identified 166 food coding errors (12%;stage 1), and 426 food codes with missing micronutrients (32%) were reanalyzed (stage 2). Positive linear trends were observed for total energy and micronutrient intake (all P_trend < 0.05) after the two stages of data modification, but not for dietary fat, carbohydrates, or vitamin D. There were no statistical differences in mean energy and macronutrient intake between the FoodApp and 24-HDR, and this agreement was confirmed by Bland–Altman plots. Spearman's correlation analyses showed strong to moderate correlations (r = 0.834 ∼ 0.386) between the two methods. Participants’ nutrient intake tended to be lower than the DRI, but no differences in proportions of adequacy/inadequacy for DRI values were observed between the two methods. Conclusions: Mitigating errors significantly improved the accuracy of the Formosa FoodApp, indicating its validity and reliability as a self-reporting mobile-based dietary assessment tool. This paper proposes a novel standing assistance scheme that guides a subject to adopt a suitable posture using intended movements and voice messages. In much previous research, an assistive robot requires the patient to understand the standing reference beforehand and generally, the subject learns the standing motion used by the robot. However, for practical use, a patient should be able to use an assistive robot without special prior knowledge. Nursing specialists also guide their patients with an intended movement and a voice message. For example, when they incline a patient's upper body before lifting it up, they notify the patient of a motion start with simpler words and guide the patient's body with a special moving pattern. Therefore, in this paper, we develop a standing assistance scheme that guides the patient to stand in the intended way based on skills of these nursing specialists. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by experiments with our prototype.

Rehabilitation therapy is a fundamental need for patients that suffer from illness, effects after accident or surgery. The patients need to perform traditional rehabilitation for undergo clinical therapy sessions handled by a therapist in monitoring the patient's improvement. Once the patients discharge, they need to perform consistently exercise remotely at home or outside from rehabilitation centre, Telerehabilitation was introduced. One of the exercises to encourage patients is using exercise games (exergames). In this paper, we are concentrating on usability evaluation of exergames named Medical Interactive Rehabilitation Assistance (MIRA) System with Twenty-eight exercises performed by patients. We performed data collection using qualitative and quantitative for 45 patients from SOSCO Rehabilitation Centre in Malacca. The questionnaire consists of three sections - demographic, usage of the MIRA system and lastly participant's opinion. In conclusion, the findings showed positive feedback in using exergames as part of their rehab exercise that can lead into implementation of Telerehabilitation.

Reinforcement Learning (RL) is an extraordinarily paradigm that aims to solve a complex problem. This technique leverages the traditional feedforward networks with temporal-difference learning to overcome supervised and unsupervised real-world problems. However, RL is one of state-of-the-art topic due to the opaque aspects in design and implementation. Also, in which situation we will get performance gain from RL is still unclear. Therefore, This study firstly examines the impact of Experience Replay in Deep Q-Learning agent with Self-Driving Car application. Secondly, The impact of Eligibility Trace in RNN A3C agents with Breakout AI game application is studied. Our results indicated that these two techniques enhance RL performance by more than 20 percent as compared with traditional RL methods.
