The Indonesian government is currently implementing an induction stove program to replace the use of LPG stoves. The 2021 report from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) shows that LPG is used by 83.36% of the Indonesian population as a cooking fuel. Expenditure on LPG subsidies is influenced by international crude oil prices set through the Contract Price Aramco (CPA). Analysis shows that the gas prices set by the CPA have significantly increased in the past five years, becoming one of the factors contributing to the subsidy burden on the state budget (APBN). Therefore, it is necessary to find breakthrough solutions to minimize future APBN expenditures. The LPG to induction stove conversion program is expected to reduce subsidy burdens, improve energy efficiency, and influence consumer behavior in choosing more efficient cooking appliances. © 2023, The Authors. The estimation of the waste heat recovery in prime cookstove by using thermoelectric generators

Stoves with wooden fuel are widely used by communities in developing countries. Despite the relatively low efficiency of wood as fuel in stoves, the heat released could be reused and/or harvested into electrical energy. This work applied the Thermoelectric Energy Generator (TEG) technology to harvest the heat energy surrounding the stove into electricity by installing the TEC1-12706 and SP1848-27145SA cells in the upright position on the stove. The potential thermal energy efficiency of biomass stoves with an attached TEG was calculated. The results showed that when two TEGs in pair were attached, 1.48 V and 0.09 A were produced, meanwhile when the round side of the stove wall was fully attached to TEGs, it showed potential electrical energy production up to 0.27 W. The amount of energy produced was able to recharge lithium-ion batteries for 53 minutes using a buck-boost DC voltage converter, also contributing to increasing the stove’s energy efficiency by 0.014%.

He earned his Ph.D in Management from Pondicherry University. He is an Economics graduate from Calcutta University and MBA from BIM Trichy. He has published more than 20 articles in reputed international journals has authored two books written articles and columns for newspapers and is quoted on issues related to leadership and marketing by various media platforms. His research work comprises construction of brand personality scale for media aesthetics and phenomenological design. His recent publications are on philosophy of a photograph hermeneutic reality of product and on philosophy of intimate spaces. R. Dhanuskodi has nearly 40 years of R&D experience at BHEL India in technical areas applicable for thermal power plants. He is a life member of The Institution of Engineers (India) and The Combustion Institute. He has won two BHEL’s Excel awards under the best author category for technical papers. He has visited France Netherlands and Germany under Indo-Europe Clean Coal Development Program. He has guided 42 UG PG and PhD project works. He holds 11 patents 40 copyrights and 2 design registrations. He has presented papers in 20 conferences and published in 10 national and international journals. R. Kaliappan completed his bachelors in electrical and electronics engineering and Masters in Computer Science. He has 36 years of research experience in different fields of power generation and power plant subsystems such as heat transfer studies on boiler circulation efficiency improvements of boiler subsystems product improvements/ enhancements and setting up test facilities for research studies. He has published a number of technical papers on MHD power generation and heat transfer studies in various national and international journals. Spontaneous electroencephalogram (EEG) and evoked potentials measured from the scalp are considered to be attenuated by impedance of mediated biological tissues such as skull, biomembrane and cortex. Voltage loss at these tissues may deteriorate the measured signal. In this study, we explored a possibility that an electroencephalograph bearing enhanced input-impedance could detect more sensitively the short latency somatosensory-evoked potential (SEPs) and high frequency oscillations (HFOs) in SEPs. We introduced a negative capacitance converter (NCC) into the electroencephalograph at front end. We expected the NCC to reduce floating capacitance in shielded wires between electrode and the electroencephalograph, and consequently to enhance the input-impedance of the device especially in higher frequency region. SEPs and HFOs were measured in eight subjects with the proposed device and compared with those measured with a commercial electroencephalograph. 7 of 8 showed larger amplitude of SEPs when EEG measured with the proposed device, but only 4 out of 7 showed larger amplitude of HFOs.

In the current era of technology,the Internet and web technologies become the center source of *** to the huge amount of contents,one of the main challenges of modern information technology is aimed at how to reduce and manage information in a structured way with mobilizing users to the similar kind of relevant ***,any intelligent system should be able to understand people's interest about a particular type of information and automatically mobilize him to the similar kind of available information *** idea of high level Activity Streams along with its standardized format can play a vital role to solve this problem in the broader *** paper introduces a novel system called CoASGen (Consolidation and Activity Streams Generator) which is able to automatically generate high level Activity Streams after aggregating and consolidating from different independent systems (*** a software company context:version management system,wikis,bug trackers etc.).It retrieves life time information as heterogeneous web feed by sensing user activities from those independent systems and then it transforms several similar types of atomic activities into high level Activity Streams using semantic technologies along with its specific standardized ***,it shows these high level Activity Streams to the user interface which is able to automatically motivate users to find relevant information easily without either missing any data or losing valuable *** system solves the problem "data silos" by reducing and managing information in a structured way.

The Gesture Recognition Interactive Technology (GRiT) Chair Alarm aims to prevent patient falls from chairs and wheelchairs by recognizing the gesture of a patient attempting to stand. Patient falls are one of the greatest causes of injury in hospitals. Current chair and bed exit alarm systems are inadequate because of insufficient notification, high false-alarm rate, and long trigger delays. The GRiT chair alarm uses an array of capacitive proximity sensors and pressure sensors to create a map of the patient's sitting position, which is then processed using gesture recognition algorithms to determine when a patient is attempting to stand and to alarm the care providers. This system also uses a range of voice and light feedback to encourage the patient to remain seated and/or to make use of the system's integrated nurse-call function. This system can be seamlessly integrated into existing hospital WiFi networks to send notifications and approximate patient location through existing nurse call systems.

An approach is proposed for obtaining both electrocardiographic potential and respiratory variation signal from infants lying supine with underwear during sleep. Capacitively coupled bed-sheet electrode unit and a methodology of capacitive sensing were employed to realize the approach. A pilot device was fabricated to explore the feasibility of the approach and evaluation experiments were conducted for 5 infants aged from 43 to 174 days. The results revealed that two outputs of the developed device synchronized respectively with the reference ECG and sleep breath in all experiments. The present device appears promising for application to bedding as an unconstrained method for ECG and respiratory variation monitoring of neonates or infants during sleep.

During medical procedures, such as surgery, a patient's vital signs are typically monitored using a web of wires connected to adhesive electrodes. The large number of wires inhibits the medical team's access to the patient while the adhesive electrodes can detach, fail, or be out-of-stock, causing delays in the procedure. In order to combat these problems, we have developed the SmartPad: a system that displays a patient's electrocardiogram (ECG) signal without adhesive pads, wires, or active intervention from a clinician. The system automatically selects three electrodes from an array of Cu/Ni-fabric based electrodes patterned on a thin pad on which the patient lies. The selected electrodes are used to provide a differential 3-lead measurement of the patient's ECG, which is then transmitted wirelessly and displayed on a laptop computer.

We present a wireless capacitive sensor for ambulatory ECG monitoring. The device is capable of detecting electrocardiographic potential through underwear. It is based on capacitive coupling involving the electrode, the underwear, and the skin. Validation of the system revealed the following: (1) The frequency response of the device with the underwear revealed that the gain of the detected signal was reduced, but distortion of the signal within the pass-band (from 6 to 45 Hz) was minimal even with the underwear. (2) The signal displayed a periodic waveform synchronized with the simultaneously recorded ECG, even when the underwear was inserted between the electrode and the skin. (3) Although the signal was seemed deteriorated slightly while walking, R-waves were recognized easily. Although there is still room for improvement in terms of its practical use, the proposed approach appears promising for application to ambulatory ECG monitoring.
