This article suggests a method for diminishing the voltage unbalance in a three-phase five-level diode-clamped inverter (DCI) through the use of hexagonal hysteresis space vector modulation (HHSVM). Capacitor voltage balancing leads to enhanced system efficiency, reduced stress on components, enhanced performance, abridged electromagnetic interference, and reduced total harmonic distortion. The proposed modulation technique and its implementation are thoroughly examined in this study, along with modeling and experiment data that show how efficient the method is at lowering the capacitor voltage unbalance in the proposed five-level DCI. Capacitor voltage unbalance is reduced with the use of this HHSVM approach to 0.95%, which is a superior reduction compared to traditional PWM methods. The paper also discusses the advantages of the proposed method over other existing methods, making it a promising solution for practical applications in power electronics systems.

In fog computing, closer proximity of fog devices to the end-user provides several benefits, such as reduced End-to-End (E2E) delay and better Quality of Service (QoS). Although, fog computing gives promising benefits of uninterrupted services to mobile users. The critical challenge is to decide when and where to re-schedule tasks according to the user's mobility. This paper targets this issue and proposes a Proactive Mobility-support (PROMO) model for re-scheduling tasks to mitigate the issues that influence QoS in mobility. The PROMO model is implemented and validated on MobFogSim, which significantly improves delay with 37% and around 17% downtime during task re-scheduling. © 2022 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

The application of artificial intelligence (AI) in managing severe weather events has become more necessary in recent years owing to their increased frequency. Disaster management is required to control and avoid such occurrences. To successfully aid in better and quicker reactions to catastrophes, AI is widely employed in prediction and disaster preparation, damage mitigation and minimization, and rescue phases. To determine how AI technology can be used to lessen the damaging impacts of different disasters, this article looks into the potential for connecting artificial intelligence methods based on technological innovation. Public-key infrastructure (PKI) is poised to play a crucial function in the use of secure data technology systems. Timely detection and treatment of brain tumors (BT) remain a critical challenge due to their rapid growth and complex morphologies. Recent deep learning (DL) approaches and large vision models (LVMs) have promising potential in early and accurate diagnosis of BTs. However, the optimal tuning of hyperparameters is crucial for increasing the model's efficacy and robustness. Large vision models have significant potential for improving the accuracy of diagnosing BT using MRI images. Additionally, we evaluated and compared the performance of recent DL models ResNet50, VGG16, and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) using BT MRI dataset. Through rigorous experimentation, our results highlight the superior diagnostic capabilities of the FViT model with an accuracy (ACC) of 99.68% and an F1-score (FS) of 99.68% for BT classification (using training-validation set). This result is also verified with high ACC of 99.31% and FS of 99.31%using testing set. The study demonstrates how well FViT model performs in classifying BT accurately, showcasing its potential in clinical settings. These findings emphasize the critical role of fine-tuning LVM models in advancing BT diagnosis through brain MRI images. © 2025 IEEE.

Visual abstraction of dynamic network via improved multi-class blue noise sampling

Massive sequence view (MSV) is a classic timeline-based dynamic network visualization approach. However, it is vulnerable to visual clutter caused by overlapping edges, thereby leading to unexpected misunderstanding of time-varying trends of network communications. This study presents a new edge sampling algorithm called edge-based multi-class blue noise (E-MCBN) to reduce visual clutter in MSV. Our main idea is inspired by the multi-class blue noise (MCBN) sampling algorithm, commonly used in multi-class scatterplot decluttering. First, we take a node pair as an edge class, which can be regarded as an analogy to classes in multi-class scatterplots. Second, we propose two indicators, namely, class overlap and inter-class conflict degrees, to measure the overlapping degree and mutual exclusion, respectively, between edge classes. These indicators help construct the foundation of migrating the MCBN sampling from multi-class scatterplots to dynamic network samplings. Finally, we propose three strategies to accelerate MCBN sampling and a partitioning strategy to preserve local high-density edges in the MSV. The result shows that our approach can effectively reduce visual clutters and improve the readability of MSV. Moreover, our approach can also overcome the disadvantages of the MCBN sampling (i.e., long-running and failure to preserve local high-density communication areas in MSV). This study is the first that introduces MCBN sampling into a dynamic network sampling.

The swift progression of deepfake-generating technologies has elicited much apprehension about their potential misuse in digital media, necessitating the development of efficient detection methods. This research aims to improve the precision of deepfake detection by the application of spatial-temporal feature engineering methods. A comparative comparison of advanced preprocessing techniques is performed to enhance the extraction of spatial and temporal indicators essential for detecting deepfake abnormalities. The study investigates the amalgamation of sophisticated machine learning and deep learning models with designed characteristics to get enhanced detection efficacy. Experimental assessments are conducted on benchmark datasets to verify the effectiveness of the suggested methodologies. The findings highlight the importance of effective preprocessing strategies in enhancing model generalizability and dependability, hence supporting the overarching goal of preserving digital authenticity. © 2025 IEEE.

Since human skin illnesses are among the most common dermatological conditions worldwide, visual observations are usually the first step in the diagnosis process. Accurate classification of skin biopsies and scrapings requires dermoscopic analysis and clinical screening due to medical criteria. It gets more difficult to classify skin diseases using medical photographs because of the complex forms, wide range of colors, and data security issues. In this study, we offer a dependable approach for the classification of 20 distinct types of skin illnesses, based on an improved Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model. Our enhanced CNN design exceeds the standard CNN, which only achieves an accuracy of 31.38%, with an astounding accuracy of 98.21%. The accuracy of two benchmark algorithms, AlexNet and VGG19, is also not particularly high (32.14% and 52.30%, respectively). In contrast to traditional CNN models the enhanced CNN performs better, demonstrating its efficacy and dependability in accurately identifying a wide range of skin disorders. including well-known architectures like AlexNet and VGG19. Positive implications of this discovery include the development of more precise diagnostic tools for dermatology. © 2024 IEEE.

Human activities are directly impacted by weather occurrences. Forest fires, high air temperatures that lead to drought, and extreme weather events caused by global warming all make life more difficult for humans. Precautions against such climatic calamities require weather forecast models that are both accurate and effective. As a result, creating models that accurately forecast the weather is crucial. The creation of effective models of deep learning-based weather forecasting was greatly aided by technological advancements. This study suggested a hybrid weather prediction model based on convolutional and recurrent neural networks, which had a decent success rate. The dataset named Jena, which comprises 14 parameters, extensive meteorological information that has not been used for predicting the weather, was subjected to the suggested hybrid model. The experimental findings were compared using well-known machine learning, deep learning, and statistical techniques such CNN, Integrated Moving Average with Auto-Regression, LSTM, RNN, Random Forest, Multilayer Perceptrons and SVM. These comparisons showed that the suggested hybrid model had the best prediction outcome across the board. For instance, the suggested hybrid model produced the following findings based on the weather forecast data for Jena.
