In this paper we propose some web service design criteria which can be used in application design to produce high quality web services. We describe currently available methods for determining if web services meet those criteria. The verification methods we describe can be either undertaken using peer review processes or performed by automated utilities. Web services that meet these criteria will be both useful and useable in the production environment.

Integrating multiple features content-based image retrieval can overcome the problems of single feature, but how to organize these features and feature representation methods is difficult in image retrieval. In this paper, an automatic feature weight assignment approach based on genetic algorithm is proposed. The problem of weight assignment is firstly changed into optimization problem, and genetic algorithm is used for finding the optimization weight in order to get the best retrieval results. The experimental results show that the recall and precision of this proposed approach is better than the others' weight assignment methods. This approach is robust to various kinds of features and feature representation methods, and it can get the best feature combination for image retrieval.

Agent-oriented software design systems have been provided, such as MESSAGE system and FIPA model. But still there is no unambiguous definition for "agent". A general agent can be described in terms of autonomy, social ability, reactivity and proactivity, which, in turn, are implemented by the individual agent entity's capability, perception and introspection properties. With the simulation of the memory principle being the focus, this article builds a new architecture model to practice these properties. After researching former models, we provide a new model of an individual agent, named MyAgent, using the Z specification language. By simulating the person's memory action, this model improves on Goodwin's model. Since the interaction between agents and environment assumes more practical significance, we lay considerable emphasis on it while paying less attention to the reasoning of the mutual perception between agents.
