This paper presents the design and implementation of autonomous cleaning system algorithm for Dubai International Airport. Different approaches were presented to build the locomotion platform for an autonomous cleaning system cleaning. Two types of controllers were discussed to achieve the design objectives: conventional gain scheduled PID controller, and fuzzy PID controller. Tests have been conducted for the PID fuzzy controller in the preliminary design analysis.

In a fast moving highly competitive business hub;the process of Construction Contracts preparation is usually shortened by resorting to previously prepared forms of agreement templates. Even if due diligence is carried out during the contract preparation stage, it becomes extremely difficult to anticipate for and include every single contingency that may arise from contract misinterpretation resulted from implicit terms. As such, to mitigate being involved in numerous disputes and arbitration cases due to contractual "gaps", all parties bounded by a binding agreement are recommended to be aware of their Implied Obligations and ensure that their implicit duties are accommodated for, as appropriate, within the construction contract. In this study, a survey measuring the gap between perceptions of 13 pre-identified Implied Obligations and actual experiences has been created and collected from 30 people out of 100 surveys sent out that had demonstrated even though most of the Implied Terms pre-identified are generally agreed on as Obligations by most parties involved in a contract, they are;however, rarely experienced most of the time. This indicates the potential of a high number of claim cases arising due to these contractual gaps.

A SCA-2000 Surface Charge Analyzer has been loaned to the Microelectronic engineering Department at RIT for use in undergraduate laboratories and research projects. To illustrate the process monitoring capability of the SCA, a designed experiment was performed to study the effects of variations in post-oxidation anneal and pull temperature on total oxide charge (Q/sub o/x). The SCA measurements on the as grown oxide were compared to C-V results from capacitors fabricated on the same films. Although absolute values of Q/sub o/x did not match, an overall correlation between the two sets of data was observed. It is hypothesized that the lower Q/sub ox/ values observed with C-V are the result of hydrogen passivation of Q/sub it/.

In the current era of technology,the Internet and web technologies become the center source of *** to the huge amount of contents,one of the main challenges of modern information technology is aimed at how to reduce and manage information in a structured way with mobilizing users to the similar kind of relevant ***,any intelligent system should be able to understand people's interest about a particular type of information and automatically mobilize him to the similar kind of available information *** idea of high level Activity Streams along with its standardized format can play a vital role to solve this problem in the broader *** paper introduces a novel system called CoASGen (Consolidation and Activity Streams Generator) which is able to automatically generate high level Activity Streams after aggregating and consolidating from different independent systems (*** a software company context:version management system,wikis,bug trackers etc.).It retrieves life time information as heterogeneous web feed by sensing user activities from those independent systems and then it transforms several similar types of atomic activities into high level Activity Streams using semantic technologies along with its specific standardized ***,it shows these high level Activity Streams to the user interface which is able to automatically motivate users to find relevant information easily without either missing any data or losing valuable *** system solves the problem "data silos" by reducing and managing information in a structured way.

Summary form only given. We propose a new distribution scheme for a parallel Strassen's matrix multiplication algorithm on heterogeneous clusters. In the heterogeneous clustering environment, appropriate data distribution is the most important factor for achieving maximum overall performance. However, Strassen's algorithm reduces the total operation count to about 7/8 times per one recursion and, hence, the recursion level has an effect on the total operation count. Thus, we need to consider not only load balancing but also the recursion level in Strassen's algorithm. Our scheme achieves both load balancing and reduction of the total operation count. As a result, we achieve a speedup of nearly 21.7% compared to the conventional parallel Strassen's algorithm in a heterogeneous clustering environment.

The Internet has become an important medium for effective marketing and efficient operations for many institutions. Visitors of a particular web site leave behind valuable information on their preferences, requirements, and demands regarding the offered products and/or services. Understanding these requirements online, i.e., during a particular visit, is both a difficult technical challenge and a tremendous business opportunity. Web sites that can provide effective online navigation suggestions to their visitors can exploit the potential inherent in the data such visits generate every day. However, identifying, collecting, and maintaining the necessary knowledge that navigation suggestions are based on is far from trivial. We propose a methodology for acquiring and maintaining this knowledge efficiently using data mart and web mining technology. Its effectiveness has been shown in an application for a bank's web site. Most exact cone-beam reconstruction methods are based on the Tuy-Smith-Grangeat formula which links cone-beam projections to the 3-D Radon transform. The computation of the 3-D Radon transform in these methods leads to drawbacks such as much computational requirements and significant discretization errors. The authors propose new exact cone-beam reconstruction method which does not explicitly compute the 3-D Radon transform. The new method is based on two familiar concepts in 3-D tomography fields which are the approximate ramp reconstruction (the cone-beam backprojection after the ramp filtering) and the Fourier synthesis based on the central slice theorem. Simulation results demonstrate that the new method requires less computational requirements and suffers from less discretization errors in typical cases.

In this paper, a handle-electrode system is proposed for obtaining the heart rate of a user while riding a bicycle. The system was designed to measure the user's heart rate by only gripping the handle of a bicycle. Three electrodes made from conductive cloth were adhered to the handle. A method detecting heart-rate from the obtained electrocardiogram was also proposed. To assess the applicability of the proposed system, a simple experiment was performed. The experiment was performed in four conditions of road surfaces; lawn, asphalt, a tiled, and an uneven road. Experimental result suggests that the proposed system can be useful for obtaining R waves while riding a bicycle.

This paper is concerned with coding theorems for a generalized wiretap channel. In the problem of the wiretap channel it is important to characterize the secrecy capacity, i.e., the maximum achievable rate of information securely transmitted from a sender to a legitimate receiver in the presence of a wiretapper. In our model, channels are not restricted to memoryless channels. We first define the secrecy capacity C s and evaluate C s from information-spectrum approach. We give a new upper bound of C s not including auxiliary random variables and explore conditions under which the obtained upper bound becomes tight for the cascaded wiretap channel

In this paper, a method of estimating both the position and the rotation angle of an object on a measurement stage was proposed. The system utilizes the radio communication technology and the directivity of an antenna. As a prototype system, a measurement stage (a circle 240mm in diameter) with 36 antennas that placed in each 10 degrees was developed. Two transmitter antennas are settled in a right angle on the stage as the target object, and the position and the rotation angle is estimated by measuring efficiency of the radio communication of each 36 antennas. The experimental result revealed that even when the estimated location is not so accurate (about a 30 mm error), the rotation angle is accurately estimated (about 2.33 degree error on average). The result suggests that the proposed method will be useful for estimating the location and the direction of an object.
