This paper considers a distributed optimization problem in the presence of Byzantine agents capable of introducing untrustworthy information into the communication network. A resilient distributed subgradient algorithm is proposed based on graph redundancy and objective redundancy. It is shown that the algorithm causes all non-Byzantine agents’ states to asymptotically converge to the same optimal point under appropriate assumptions. A partial convergence rate result is also provided.

In recent years, there has been a growing interest in endoscope automation and assisted control methods, with the primary objective of minimizing human error and associated stress. One critical challenge in the implementation of assistive control lies in addressing latency issues. Various control modalities, such as feet and eye-based approaches, have been proposed but have limitations such as sensitivity. This study proposes to use head orientation control through a wireless head-mounted display (HMD) with augmented reality (AR) for a robotic arm endoscope. To meet the low latency requirements, we integrate our adaptive deep reinforcement learning (DRL) region of interest (ROI) solution with a machine learning detection and identification model for diagnosing five common colonic diseases. Our implementation results demonstrate that the proposed system achieves responsive control with a latency of 15 ms, a 45 ms communication delay for the colonoscopy camera stream, and an accuracy of 94.2% for the trained diagnosis model. These findings signify a notable improvement in the endoscopy system, with improved control functionality and reduced latency in wireless colonoscopy.

Over the past few decades, unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology has played a significant role in military and civilian applications. To meet the challenges of the future, in addition to improving the functionality and utility of individual aircraft, there is a need to consider how to develop more effective UAV management and organizations. Consequently, among the many developments in UAVs, formation control has become an important concept in recent years. Formation control requires multiple UAVs to adapt to the mission including generate a formation, stay in formation, and change formation. In this paper, we further constrain the formation controller model, not only estimate the desired separation with acceptable accuracy but also ensure a consensus among estimates. Nonlinear integrable equations serve as a foundation for nonlinear dynamics, and fractional equations are well known in anomalous diffusion. We connect these two fields by presenting the discovery of a new class of integrable fractional nonlinear evolution equations describing dispersive transport in fractional media. These equations can be constructed from nonlinear integrable equations using a widely generalizable mathematical process utilizing completeness relations, dispersion relations, and inverse scattering transform techniques. As examples, this general method is used to characterize fractional extensions to two physically relevant, pervasive integrable nonlinear equations: the Korteweg–deVries and nonlinear Schrödinger equations. These equations are shown to predict superdispersive transport of nondissipative solitons in fractional media.
