In the present paper, the radiation and scattering by an elliptic disc submerged in infinite-depth water are investigated. The problems are solved by reducing them to two-dimensional hypersingular integral equations over the surface of the disc. A spectral method is used to solve the integral equation numerically. Numerical results are presented for different hydrodynamic quantities related to scattering and radiation by the disc. Initially, the formulation is validated against published results for a circular disc. Once it is found satisfactory, a rigorous parametric study is conducted for the elliptic disc. The primary focus of the presented study is to investigate the dependence of several physical quantities such as added mass, damping coefficient, and exciting forces on the depth and geometry of the disc. From the results, it is observed that when the body is near the free surface, the pressure field around the body changes abruptly and resonance occurs. Also, by solving the radiation problem, it is seen that for the elongated body, that is, where the ratio of the semi-major axis to the semi-minor axis is high, added mass and damping coefficient change significantly. The present study may be useful as a benchmark study. Also, in the domain of ocean energy, this study can give a rough idea about the design of an oscillator. At present, bases of all the oscillators are modelled as circular. This study reveals that an elliptic base might be useful as well. © 2024 by ASME.

UAMP-Based Delay-Doppler Channel Estimation for OTFS Systems

Orthogonal time frequency space(OTFS)technique, which modulates data symbols in the delayDoppler(DD) domain, presents a potential solution for supporting reliable information transmission in highmobility vehicular networks. In this paper, we study the issues of DD channel estimation for OTFS in the presence of fractional Doppler. We first propose a channel estimation algorithm with both low complexity and high accuracy based on the unitary approximate message passing(UAMP), which exploits the structured sparsity of the effective DD domain channel using hidden Markov model(HMM). The empirical state evolution(SE) analysis is then leveraged to predict the performance of our proposed algorithm. To refine the hyperparameters in the proposed algorithm,we derive the update criterion for the hyperparameters through the expectation-maximization(EM) algorithm. Finally, Our simulation results demonstrate that our proposed algorithm can achieve a significant gain over various baseline schemes.

A qualitative analysis for a nonlinear system of fractional pantograph evolution differential equations (FPEDEs) has been established. Conditions about the solution of the underlying equations have been established in the direction of the existence and uniqueness of the solution. Using results of fixed-point theorems of Krasnoselskii iterations in Banach spaces, we develop the required results. This research work is enriched by establishing the results related to Ulam–Hyers (UH) stability of the problem under consideration via the tools of nonlinear analysis. To validate the reliability of the obtained results, some pertinent examples are given in the manuscript. © 2021 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

Point cloud registration is a crucial issue in visual computing, aiming to determine the superior alteration for harmonizing two point clouds. This paper introduces a Flatformer-based iterative feedback structure for unmanaged point cloud registration, which capitalizes on recent developments in 3D vision and feedback mechanisms. The proposed method addresses the limitations of traditional and knowledge-centered point cloud alignment techniques through the improvement of the feedback mechanism with the introduction of the Flatformer. Specifically, the introduction of the Flatformer module enhances the extraction of multidimensional features such as geometry, texture, and context, while maintaining robustness to geometric transformations and noise. In addition, the optimization of the feedback transformer improves computational efficiency and feature processing power. The experiments were carried out using the ModelNet40 dataset. Compared to the IFNet and PRNet method, our approach reduced the rotation RMSE by 9.98%, the rotation MAE by 2.83%, the translation RMSE by 8.25%, and the translation MAE by 1.49%, demonstrating a significant improvement in alignment accuracy. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Dynamic Quantized Control of Fuzzy Semi-Markov Jump Systems With Fading Channels: An Improved Event-Triggered Mechanism

This article focuses on the dynamic quantized control for Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy semi-Markov jump systems (T-S FSMJSs) under fading channels and deception attacks, employing an improved event-triggered mechanism (ETM) strategy. Specifically, a more generalized semi-Markov process (SMP) that is governed by a higher-level deterministic switching signal (HLDSS) is addressed. A novel dynamic ETM is skillfully developed based on the information of quantization and two internal dynamic adjusting variables to further enhance the network bandwidth utilization. The dual asynchronous phenomenon between the plant and controller (asynchronous modes and mismatched premise variables) is addressed. This implies that the designed controller is not required to share the same membership functions and modes as the plant, establishing a more rational structure. The hidden semi-Markov model (HSMM) is attained to characterize the stochastic varying channel fading amplitudes. The Lyapunov function incorporating mode and fuzzy information is constructed to establish sufficient criteria ensuring the strictly dissipative performance and mean-square exponential stability (MSES) of the resulting closed-loop systems, and a new security fuzzy dual asynchronous controller is then developed. Finally, the efficacy and applicability of the results are demonstrated through numerical and practical examples. © 2025 IEEE.

Optimized quantum circuit implementation of SATURNIN for Grover’s algorithm

In 2019, SATURNIN a light-weighted block cipher was proposed for post-quantum security. In this research, we try to examine the security strength of SATURNIN by implementing its quantum circuit to apply Grover’s algorithm for brute-force key search from classical complexity O(N) to quantum complexity O(N/2). We present SATURNIN’s novel quantum structure resource calculation, implementation, and security hardness evaluation based on the NIST proposal for post-quantum security strength. Our proposed quantum circuit implementation requires 872 qubits. As per our evaluation, increasing the number of iterations in this algorithm doesn’t adequately increase its security hardiness against quantum assaults on the IBM QISKIT quantum computer simulator. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of Computer Applications and Management 2024.
