Certainty Equivalence Control of Discrete-Time Multiagent Systems: A Framework for Uniform Global Exponential Stability

The solvability of certainty equivalence control problems for discrete-time multiagent systems over uniformly jointly connected switching networks relies on the stability/attractivity analysis for a class of perturbed switched systems with respect to a set of switching signals. To tackle this issue, in this article, a novel systematic and unified framework is established consisting of three key stability/attractivity results. First, the uniform global exponential stability for two dual cases of the nominal dynamics is analyzed in a unified way by checking the weak zero-state detectability from the limiting systems. Second, the uniform global exponential attractivity of the perturbed switched systems accommodating both first-order and zero-order time-varying perturbations is studied without resorting to any Lyapunov function for the entire perturbed switched systems. Third, the uniform global κ-exponential stability for a class of cascaded switched systems is investigated. These stability/attractivity results together lay the foundation to thoroughly solve two kinds of typical certainty equivalence control problems, and also improve two specific cooperative control designs. Moreover, a relaxed dwell-time condition is considered, which makes the obtained results tolerable in the extreme case of instantaneous link failure and restoration. Finally, the control performances are shown by numerical simulations. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

The Internet of Drones (IoD) extends the capabilities of unmanned aerial vehicles, enabling them to participate in a connected network. In IoD infrastructure, drones communicate not only among themselves but also with users and a control center. This interconnected communication framework holds promise for various applications, from collaborative decision-making to real-time data exchange. However, the expansion of communication in IoD also introduces new challenges, particularly in terms of security, privacy and authentication. Unfortunately, the current authentication protocols are inadequate in offering robust security features against various attacks in the IoD environment. To address these security issues and limitations, we proposed a secure protocol for the IoD environment using chaotic maps and hash functions. In addition, we also employed a physically unclonable function in the development of the proposed protocol. We assess the security of the protocol through both informal and formal security analysis. The formal security analysis is conducted through a widely used random or real (RoR) model. The informal analysis shows the rigorous security features against various attacks, such as masquerading, anonymity violation, and physical cloning attacks. Moreover, we compare the performance of the devised protocol with similar existing protocols across important performance parameters, such as communication overhead, computation overhead, and security features. The devised protocol provides a 67.86% and 17.80% reduction in computation and communication overheads, respectively, as compared to related protocols. The analysis demonstrates the proposed protocol's capacity to support secure communication in the IoD environment and satisfy desirable security attributes. © 2014 IEEE.

The normal distribution model has strong application in mathematical and statistical research. In communication system, each electron component has a safety score, aiming to measure the its stability and reliability in use. This essay examines the effectiveness of normal distribution in modelling electron components’ safety score distribution, and also seeks for the optimized probability density function in modelling our sample data. Throughout the model fitting process, the effect of different parameters of model on the graph is discussed. Result of research shows that normal distribution model can fit the safety score distribution well.

According to the market research report, the nuclear decommissioning services market is currently experiencing considerable growth, with a projected Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of nearly 13% during the 2020–2024 forecast period. This expansion is primarily fueled by the advancement of Industry 4.0, in conjunction with the emergence of cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, and 5G. Even though the fact that robots have already been utilized in the nuclear industry, their adoption has been hindered by conservative regulations. However, the nuclear decommissioning market presents an opportunity for the advancement of robotics technology. The British have already invested heavily in encouraging the use of intelligent robots for nuclear decommissioning, and other countries, such as Taiwan, should follow suit. Taiwan's flourishing robotics development industry in manufacturing, logistics, and other domains can be leveraged to introduce advanced robotics in the decommissioning of its nuclear power plants. By doing so, Taiwan can establish itself as a competitive player in the nuclear decommissioning services market for the next two decades. © 2023 Korean Nuclear Society

Data acquisition, image processing, and image quality are the long-lasting issues for terahertz (THz) 3D reconstructed imaging. Existing methods are primarily designed for 2D scenarios, given the challenges associated with obtaining super-resolution (SR) data and the absence of an efficient SR 3D reconstruction framework in conventional computed tomography (CT). Here, we demonstrate BLIss, a new approach for THz SR 3D reconstruction with sparse 2D data input. BLIss seamlessly integrates conventional CT techniques and variational framework with the core of the adapted Euler-Elastica-based model. The quantitative 3D image evaluation metrics, including the standard deviation of Gaussian, mean curvatures, and the multi-scale structural similarity index measure (MS-SSIM), validate the superior smoothness and fidelity achieved with our variational framework approach compared with conventional THz CT modal. Beyond its contributions to advancing THz SR 3D reconstruction, BLIss demonstrates potential applicability in other imaging modalities, such as X-ray and MRI. This suggests extensive impacts on the broader field of imaging applications. © 2024 Optica Publishing Group (formerly OSA). All rights reserved.

Robust Multilinear Principal Component Analysis

Multilinear Principal Component Analysis (MPCA) is an important tool for analyzing tensor data. It performs dimension reduction similar to PCA for multivariate data. However, standard MPCA is sensitive to outliers. It is highly influenced by observations deviating from the bulk of the data, called casewise outliers, as well as by individual outlying cells in the tensors, so-called cellwise outliers. This latter type of outlier is highly likely to occur in tensor data, as tensors typically consist of many cells. This paper introduces a novel robust MPCA method that can handle both types of outliers simultaneously, and can cope with missing values as well. This method uses a single loss function to reduce the influence of both casewise and cellwise outliers. The solution that minimizes this loss function is computed using an iteratively reweighted least squares algorithm with a robust initialization. Graphical diagnostic tools are also proposed to identify the different types of outliers that have been found by the new robust MPCA method. The performance of the method and associated graphical displays is assessed through simulations and illustrated on two real datasets. Copyright © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Revisiting the Necessity of Graph Learning and Common Graph Benchmarks

Graph machine learning has enjoyed a meteoric rise in popularity since the introduction of deep learning in graph contexts. This is no surprise due to the ubiquity of graph data in large scale industrial settings. Tacitly assumed in all graph learning tasks is the separation of the graph structure and node features: node features strictly encode individual data while the graph structure consists only of pairwise interactions. The driving belief is that node features are (by themselves) insufficient for these tasks, so benchmark performance accurately reflects improvements in graph learning. In our paper, we challenge this orthodoxy by showing that, surprisingly, node features are oftentimes more-than-sufficient for many common graph benchmarks, breaking this critical assumption. When comparing against a well-tuned feature-only MLP baseline on seven of the most commonly used graph learning datasets, one gains little benefit from using graph structure on five datasets. We posit that these datasets do not benefit considerably from graph learning because the features themselves already contain enough graph information to obviate or substantially reduce the need for the graph. To illustrate this point, we perform a feature study on these datasets and show how the features are responsible for closing the gap between MLP and graph-method performance. Further, in service of introducing better empirical measures of progress for graph neural networks, we present a challenging parametric family of principled synthetic datasets that necessitate graph information for nontrivial performance. Lastly, we section out a subset of real-world datasets that are not trivially solved by an MLP and hence serve as reasonable benchmarks for graph neural networks. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. For an integer $k$ with $2\leq k\leq |V(G)|$, the $k$-path connectivity $\pi_{k}(G)$ of $G$, which can more accurately assess the reliability of networks, is defined as min$\{\pi_{G (\eta)|\eta\subseteq V(G)$ and $|\eta|=k\}$. Since deciding whether $\pi_G(\eta)\geq \ell$ for a general graph is NP-complete in [Graphs Combin. 37(2021)2521-2533], there are few results about $k$-path connectivity even for $k=3$. In this paper, we obtain the exact value of the $3$-path connectivity of the exchanged hypercube $EH(s,t)$ and show that $\pi_{3}(EH(s,t))=\left\lfloor\frac{3\times \text{min} \{s,t\}+2}{4}\right\rfloor$ which improves the known result about the $3$-tree connectivity [Appl. Math. Comput. 347(2019)342-353]. As a corollary, the $3$-path connectivity of the $n$-dimensional dual cube $D_{n}$ is obtained directly. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This study aims to compare reported proteins expressed in controls and patients with SS in tear, saliva and serum from proteins identified in papers published between 2000 and 2020, to obtain a systematic comparison of proteins expressed in SS patients to find proteins that can be used as biomarkers in SS. Differentially expressed proteins from Sjögren's patients identified in the studies were classified by body fluid (saliva, serum, tear and saliva from healthy patients). Protein pairing was carried out in RStudio, using the previously created data framework, PANTHER and REACTOME 7.O. were used to explore the type of proteins associated with SS and enriched metabolic pathways. Five differentially expressed proteins were found in saliva, tear, and serum. Finally, this study suggests antithrombin III and E-cadherin. as biomarkers in SS, because these proteins are differentially expressed in plasma, blood, and tear, and that neutrophil degranulation pathway as a target for SS. © 2022 Asociación Colombiana de Reumatología
