The Middle 40 Per Cent (M40) demographic comprises a substantial proportion of Malaysia's consumer base, comprising the median 40% of income earners. This group is a big part of the country's customer base. The rising cost of living, flat wage growth, and rising family debt make this group especially vulnerable to financial instability. Given these economic pressures, predicting the possibility of bankruptcy in this population is becoming increasingly crucial to allow for early intervention and preventive actions. Support Vector Machines (SVM) are recognized for their efficacy in classification tasks, particularly with small or imbalanced datasets. SVM prediction will be utilized using 14694 samples of the Debt Management program (DMP) dataset from 2016 to 2020. Twenty-three (23) features will be implemented on the dataset and Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) to improve the imbalanced datasets. The experiment demonstrates that the SVM classifier obtained 91.1% accuracy when implementing PUK kernels. It suggests that SVM is a plausible alternative model for predicting personal bankruptcy in the M40 group. To anticipate personal bankruptcy for M40, additional prediction models will be evaluated in the future. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a comprehensive review of deep learning methods for the Big Five personality traits prediction using multi-task classification. The purpose of the review is to determine the performance of models developed in previous research to describe research opportunities and challenges in the future. The Big Five model is a framework in psychology that categorizes human personality into five dimensions: openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. The review begins by analyzing 22 articles from the Science Direct, IEEE Xplore, and Scopus databases by applying screening using the Big Five Personality keywords. Then study the concepts of deep learning for model development such as: input, architecture, method, dataset, and performance to identify the strengths and limitations of each approach. The review results of the highest average accuracy by modality such as unimodal text with essay dataset (80.98%), unimodal image with ImageNet dataset (95.36%), unimodal audio with SSPNet dataset (79.48%), bimodal image and audio with Chalearn Video First Impression dataset (91.67%), multimodal text, image, and audio with Chalearn Video First Impression dataset (91.88%). The average accuracy of the Big Five Personality traits was highest (95.36%) and lowest (59%). This highlights the need for standard benchmarks, interpretable models and interdisciplinary collaboration to improve the accuracy, reliability and ethical implications of personality prediction. Future research is expected to pave the way for advancements in understanding human personality through deep learning approaches using other modalities such as EEG, GSR, and PPG. © 2024 IEEE.

The results indicate a substantial increase in the number of studies during this period, highlighting the importance of machine learning in addressing critical financial challenges, including fraud detection, algorithmic trading, credit scoring, and risk management. Additionally, we delve into the main themes, countries, and institutions that dominate the current research agenda. This analysis provides valuable insights into the present state and future direction of machine learning in FinTech, serving as a resource for researchers and practitioners seeking to comprehend and contribute to this dynamic and rapidly evolving field. We also discuss implications for future research, emphasizing the necessity for continuous innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration to maximize the potential of machine learning in transforming financial services. © 2024 IEEE.

Soft skills competencies is a special skill by a person in the field of self-management. This competency is very much needed by higher education in getting a job in the era of industry 4.0 and society 5.0. Analysis of the impact of soft skills competencies is currently not widely carried out, even though the tracer study instrument for higher education already exists. Prediction of graduate readiness to enter the work world is very important for higher education. It is necessary to carry out further analysis in this regard. The focus of this research is to analyze the relationship between soft skills competencies and the absorption of graduates in getting a job before six months using the random forest algorithm. The results of the testing using confusion matrix in the development of this prediction model resulted an accuracy of 64%. © 2022 IEEE.

Indonesia is a country with a vast archipelago and rich biodiversity, particularly in the province of Aceh. However, challenges are often encountered when exploring biodiversity due to limited information access. Providing a comprehensive source of information in this context is therefore important. This study is aimed to design and develop the Aceh Biodiversity Application, which was designed for Android-based mobile devices. In our implementation, the waterfall model is used as development method to build the application which are consisted of two core elements including the back-end REST API and the front-end Android application. The application also uses three different roles to differentiate the access, those are contributors, testers, and administrators. Finally, the functionalities testing were applied using black-box testing after the development phase. In addition, the usability testing was performed using the Post Study Usability Questionnaire (PSSUQ) method. The PSSUQ results showed the efficiency of the application, with an average usability score of 5.85, signifying a high level of usability. © 2023 IEEE.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, lecturers carry out online learning and this condition also force student to learn independently. One alternative solution given is online-based problem-solving approach. This approach are suitable implemented in the mathematics informatics course. The Approach challenges students to be able to express every result of thinking, transform information into various forms of representation, as well as the ability to adapt to online learning during this pandemic. This research is case study research that aims to analyse the Communication Skills, Visual thinking, and Adaptability (COVid) of students in the mathematics informatics course through Online-Based Problem-Solving Approach. This course examines combinatorics and pigeon holes principle. This lesson is useful in the context of making software that requires certain calculations and logic. The subjects of this study were second semester students of the 2020/2021 academic year at the informatics Study program at Univeritas Cokroaminoto Palopo. Data was collected by using assignments, questionnaires, and interviews to obtain valid data. The results show that only a few students are able to express every result of thinking, transform information into various forms of representation, as well as the ability to adapt to online learning during this pandemic. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. The number of vehicles on the road will continue to expand as cities worldwide grow in population. This increases transportation congestion, especially in major cities and especially during rush hour. This phenomenon continuously pushes academics, city authorities, and urban planners to enhance traffic control systems for safety and efficiency. The application of Internet of Things (IoT) in the field of intelligent transportation systems is getting the attention of many parties. A well-controlled transportation management system can reduce congestion, especially at intersections and roads. This study was conducted to observe and study the development of research in transportation management, especially the use of IoT technology. There are 743 documents according to the keywords given related to IMS and ITS, the period 2012 until September 2021. Mapping of these articles, both in terms of publishers, the relationship between authors, and the methods used from keywords, abstracts, and titles, is expected to help the author determine research gaps and future research directions. © 2022 IEEE.

Service systems' business processes show the existence of mutual interaction between users. Running a particular business subdomain requires the role of each user. This role is in line with the concept contained in blockchain-based smart contracts. However, determining the subdomains that require smart contract coding is challenging in developing business processes that will run on the blockchain. We aim to determine the service-oriented business process (in the case of marketplace service) and the subdomain of the business process that requires smart contract coding. This article is essential because it shows how developing IT services without a smart contract differs from developing IT services with a smart contract. The main differences between developing services that need smart contracts and those that do not are that certain process can be run automatically and the record of activity in blockchain cannot be changed by anyone (tamper-proof). We outlined methods for designing marketplace business processes and defined subdomains to be encoded into smart contract code. After reviewing the three marketplace platforms, we determined eight subdomains of the marketplace business process. Two subdomains require smart contract coding from eight, namely the payment and complaint subdomains. © 2022 IEEE.

When I subjects answer questions regarding J variables K times, the data can be stored in a three-mode data set of size I× J× K. Among the various component analysis approaches to summarize such data, Three-mode Principal Component Analysis (3MPCA) is often used. 3MPCA expresses a three-mode data set by means of A-, B-, and C-mode components and a core array, but this approach is not suitable for predicting data at unobserved time points. To handle this issue, the current study suggests a fixed orthonormal polynomial basis for the 3MPCA model. Briefly, we fix the C-mode component matrix with an orthonormal polynomial basis. More specifically, i) measurement time points, and ii) log transformation of the measurement time points were used as an orthonormal polynomial basis. The use of our proposed methods was demonstrated by applying them to a longitudinal data set collected from patients with depression. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Currently, there are a lot of measurement data on different items collected over time. The GMANOVA model is appropriate for analyzing the trends in such data, in order to analyze some longitudinal data collected on different items simultaneously, we need to create separate GMANOVA models, but separate GMANOVA models cannot reveal the relationships between items. Also, if we try to apply one model to all of these data, the problem arises that there are too many parameters and the covariance structure is too large. Therefore, we propose an extended GMANOVA model and two estimation algorithms. The proposed model’s covariance matrix has a Kronecker structure. Therefore, because the estimator cannot be uniquely determined using the log-likelihood, we propose two parameter estimation algorithms. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
