Understanding the circumstances that lead to pandemics is important for their prevention. Here, we analyze the genomic diversity of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) early in the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. We show that SARS-CoV-2 genomic diversity before February 2020 likely comprised only two distinct viral lineages, denoted A and B. Phylodynamic rooting methods, coupled with epidemic simulations, reveal that these lineages were the result of at least two separate cross-species transmission events into humans. The first zoonotic transmission likely involved lineage B viruses around 18 November 2019 (23 October-8 December), while the separate introduction of lineage A likely occurred within weeks of this event.

At present, the smartphone is equipped with several sensors such as Accelerometer, Gravity sensor, and Gyroscope which can be used to recognize human physical activities such as walking upstair and walking downstairs etc. Machine learning is needed to group data and get information. Statistical methods have poor performance in classifying because procedures must be met. To overcome this, an ensemble technique was used. This study proposes the application of the gradientboost ensemble method to classify walking upstair and walking downstairs. The *** system is designed for data retrieval using a smartphone. Then, the dataset will be partitioned into 70% training data and 30% test data. The results show that the performance of the ensemble boosting method produces 81.82% accuracy, 86.11% sensitivity and 77.50% specificity.

People of Cikakak Traditional Village, Wangon District, Banyumas Regency, Central Java Province are known as the followers of Islam Aboge (Alif Rebo Wage). Their religious holidays such as the beginning of fasting month (Ramadan) and Eid al-Fitr are determined based on the rules they have been using so far, namely Month Code or Sandi Bulan and Year Code or Sandi Tahun. This research is conducted using literature study method and field study in the form of interview with respondents. This research aims at producing a mathematical model which matches the function of these two codes. The results obtained are five mathematical equations to determine the names of year, saptawara and pancawara days for the 1st day of each month, and saptawara and pancawara days for other dates.

We present 850 μm imaging of the XMM-LSS field observed for 170 hours as part of the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope SCUBA-2 Large eXtragalactic Survey (S2LXS). S2LXS XMM-LSS maps an area of 9 deg2, reaching a moderate depth of 1σ 4 mJy beam−1. This is the largest contiguous area of extragalactic sky mapped by JCMT at 850 μm to date. The wide area of the S2LXS XMM-LSS survey allows us to probe the ultra-bright (S850μm & 15 mJy), yet rare submillimetre population. We present the S2LXS XMM-LSS catalogue, which comprises 40 sources detected at >5σ significance, with deboosted flux densities in the range of 7 mJy to 48 mJy. We robustly measure the bright-end of the 850 μm number counts at flux densities >7 mJy, reducing the Poisson errors compared to existing measurements. The S2LXS XMM-LSS observed number counts show the characteristic upturn at bright fluxes, expected to be motivated by local sources of submillimetre emission and high-redshift strongly lensed galaxies. We find that the observed 850 μm number counts are best reproduced by model predictions that include either strong lensing or source blending from a 15 arcsec beam, indicating that both may make an important contribution to the observed over-abundance of bright single dish 850 μm selected sources. We make the S2LXS XMM-LSS 850 μm map and >5σ catalogue presented here publicly available. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) method is a linear programming approach that has been widely used as a framework for evaluating efficiency and measurement. DEA decision making is often faced with situations where the existing DMU has input and output that contains fuzzy and hesitant elements so that it is difficult to make efficiency measurements. This study will design a DEA model in the state of inputs and outputs that contain hesitant elements by using polyhedral uncertainty sets. The results of this study are expected to produce a benchmarking model with DEA that can overcome the hesitant element and have the advantage of using a polyhedral uncertainty set that can measure the linearity of the nominal problem. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Claims surrounding exceptional longevity are sometimes disputed or dismissed for lack of credible evidence. Here, we present three DNA methylation-based age estimators (epigenetic clocks) for verifying age claims of centenarians. The three centenarian clocks were developed based on n = 7039 blood and saliva samples from individuals older than 40, including n = 184 samples from centenarians, 122 samples from semi-supercentenarians (aged 105 +), and 25 samples from supercentenarians (aged 110 +). The oldest individual was 115 years old. Our most accurate centenarian clock resulted from applying a neural network model to a training set composed of individuals older than 40. An epigenome-wide association study of age in different age groups revealed that age effects in young individuals (age < 40) are correlated (r = 0.55) with age effects in old individuals (age > 90). We present a chromatin state analysis of age effects in centenarians. The centenarian clocks are expected to be useful for validating claims surrounding exceptional old age.

Lithium aluminium phosphate glasses doped with samarium oxide were prepared by melt-quenching technique and investigated their physical, optical and luminescence properties. The result of physical properties indicated that the density and the molar volume of glass samples were increased with an increase of Sm 2 O 3 content. The absorption spectra of glass samples were recorded in the wavelength range of 250-2000 nm, these glasses have shown strong absorption bands in the visible (Vis) and near-infrared (NIR) region at 401 and 1232 nm. The emission spectra of glasses, excited with 401 nm excitation wavelength showed four emission bands centered at 561, 597, 644 and 704 nm. From Judd-Ofelt analysis, the J-O parameter (Ω 2 , Ω 4 , Ω 6 ), radiative transition possibility ( A R ), stimulated emission cross-section (σ(λ p )) and branching ratios ( β R ) were indicated that the glass samples an interesting potential for using glass as laser medium with 597 nm emitting.

The development of information and communication technology at this time has touched all sides of life. Almost no side of human life is not touched by this information technology, which is more synonymous with the world of computerization. No exception also with the computerization that is popular in the corporate environment and government agencies. If in ancient times everything was still done manually. However, at this time all leaders and management have realized the importance of this information technology products that can facilitate them in carrying out the day-to-day corporate functions. Decision Making System of goods purchasing is one of the determinants of the accumulation of goods. If the decision is taken right then stockpiling of goods can be avoided. In this thesis the authors designed a web-based system that helps Management in making the decision of the purchase amount of goods. the system was developed by using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and using SQL Server database processing applications. Although it is known that the dimension of the Vassiliev invariants of degree three of long virtual knots is seven, the complete list of seven distinct Gauss diagram formulas have been unknown explicitly, where only one known formula was revised without proof. In this paper, we give seven Gauss diagram formulas to present the seven invariants of the degree three (Proposition 4). We further give 23 Gauss diagram formulas of classical knots (Proposition 5). In particular, the Polyak-Viro Gauss diagram formula [19] is not a long virtual knot invariant;however, it is included in the list of 23 formulas. It has been unknown whether this formula would be available by arrow diagram calculus automatically. In consequence, as it relates to the conjecture of Goussarov-Polyak-Viro [8, Conjecture 3.C], for all the degree three finite type long virtual knot invariants, each Gauss diagram formula is represented as those of Vassiliev invariants of classical knots (Theorem 1). Meningiomas are the most common primary intracranial tumor in adults and can be associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Radiologists, neurosurgeons, neuro-oncologists, and radiation oncologists rely on multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) for diagnosis, treatment planning, and longitudinal treatment monitoring;yet automated, objective, and quantitative tools for non-invasive assessment of meningiomas on mpMRI are lacking. The BraTS meningioma 2023 challenge will provide a community standard and benchmark for state-of-the-art automated intracranial meningioma segmentation models based on the largest expert annotated multilabel meningioma mpMRI dataset to date. Challenge competitors will develop automated segmentation models to predict three distinct meningioma sub-regions on MRI including enhancing tumor, non-enhancing tumor core, and surrounding nonenhancing T2/FLAIR hyperintensity. Models will be evaluated on separate validation and held-out test datasets using standardized metrics utilized across the BraTS 2023 series of challenges including the Dice similarity coefficient and Hausdorff distance. The models developed during the course of this challenge will aid in incorporation of automated meningioma MRI segmentation into clinical practice, which will ultimately improve care of patients with meningioma.
