The development of information and communication technology at this time has touched all sides of life. Almost no side of human life is not touched by this information technology, which is more synonymous with the world of computerization. No exception also with the computerization that is popular in the corporate environment and government agencies. If in ancient times everything was still done manually. However, at this time all leaders and management have realized the importance of this information technology products that can facilitate them in carrying out the day-to-day corporate functions. Decision Making System of goods purchasing is one of the determinants of the accumulation of goods. If the decision is taken right then stockpiling of goods can be avoided. In this thesis the authors designed a web-based system that helps Management in making the decision of the purchase amount of goods. the system was developed by using Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 and using SQL Server database processing applications. The end result of system design is expected to help minimize the accumulation of goods.

Background: The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted gaps in health surveillance systems, disease prevention, and treatment globally. Among the many factors that might have led to these gaps is the issue of the financing of national health systems, especially in low-income and middle-income countries (LMICs), as well as a robust global system for pandemic preparedness. We aimed to provide a comparative assessment of global health spending at the onset of the pandemic;characterise the amount of development assistance for pandemic preparedness and response disbursed in the first 2 years of the COVID-19 pandemic;and examine expectations for future health spending and put into context the expected need for investment in pandemic preparedness. Methods: In this analysis of global health spending between 1990 and 2021, and prediction from 2021 to 2026, we estimated four sources of health spending: development assistance for health (DAH), government spending, out-of-pocket spending, and prepaid private spending across 204 countries and territories. We used the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)'s Creditor Reporting System (CRS) and the WHO Global Health Expenditure Database (GHED) to estimate spending. We estimated development assistance for general health, COVID-19 response, and pandemic preparedness and response using a keyword search. Health spending estimates were combined with estimates of resources needed for pandemic prevention and preparedness to analyse future health spending patterns, relative to need. Findings: In 2019, at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, US$9·2 trillion (95% uncertainty interval [UI] 9·1–9·3) was spent on health worldwide. We found great disparities in the amount of resources devoted to health, with high-income countries spending $7·3 trillion (95% UI 7·2–7·4) in 2019;293·7 times the $24·8 billion (95% UI 24·3–25·3) spent by low-income countries in 2019. This research paper examined the connectedness of STEM faculty to others both within and across academic departments who might be potential resources for diffusion of Learner-centered practices, and the impact of participants' social networks on their Learner-centered beliefs and practices. The research question under investigation was: To what extent is the degree of social connectedness among faculty within and among STEM departments related to the degree of implementation of Learner-centered practices? Participants were recruited from Physics, Chemistry, mathematics departments, and from departments in the College of Engineering. The sample began with 21 randomly-selected faculty from each department engaged in the STEM instruction of first and second year engineering students. The second level consisted of the colleagues identified by the first level as people they utilize as resources for improving their instruction. The connectedness of faculty in the network was examined using network analysis, focusing on both number of connections, and depth of connections. Attitude and Observation Protocol measures were used as outcomes. Results show that faculty classified as Learner-Centered had deeper and more extensive social networks. Results are discussed in terms of the need for intra- and inter-departmental faculty professional development experiences that both introduce and encourage faculty to trial new tools and techniques, but that also run for the longterm, supporting collaborative organizations of faculty working together to transform early engineering experiences. © American Society for Engineering Education, 2016.

According to the World Health Organization, cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the main cause of death worldwide. An estimated 17.5 million people died from CVD in 2012, representing 31% of all global deaths. The electrocardiogram (ECG) is a central tool for the pre-diagnosis of heart diseases. Many advances on ECG arrhythmia classification have been developed in the last century;however, there is still research to identify malignant waveforms on ECG beats. The premature ventricular complexes (PVC) are known to be associated with malignant ventricular arrhythmias and in sudden cardiac death (SCD) cases. Detecting this kind of arrhythmia has been crucial in clinical applications. In this work, we extracted 80 different features from 108,653 ECG classified beats of the MIT-BIH database in order to classify the Normal, PVC and other kind of ECG beats. We evaluated three classifier algorithms based on Machine Learning with different parameters and we got a total of 14 models. We used the F1 score and we compared predictive values as a measured of classifier evaluations. Results show that we could have a F1 scores near to the unit, showing the models are higher than 93% of performance.

BACKGROUND:Copy number variants (CNVs) increase risk for neurodevelopmental conditions. The neurobiological mechanisms linking these high-risk genetic variants to clinical phenotypes are largely unknown. An important question is whether brain abnormalities in individuals carrying CNVs are associated with their degree of penetrance. METHODS:We investigated if increased CNV-penetrance for schizophrenia and other developmental disorders was associated with variations in cortical and subcortical morphology. We pooled T1-weighted brain magnetic resonance imaging and genetic data from 22 cohorts from the ENIGMA-CNV consortium. In the main analyses, we included 9,268 individuals (aged 7 to 90 years, 54% females), from which we identified 398 carriers of 36 neurodevelopmental CNVs at 20 distinct loci. A secondary analysis was performed including additional neuroimaging data from the ENIGMA-22q consortium, including 274 carriers of the 22q11.2 deletion and 291 non-carriers. CNV-penetrance was estimated through penetrance scores that were previously generated from large cohorts of patients and controls. These scores represent the probability risk to develop either schizophrenia or other developmental disorders (including developmental delay, autism spectrum disorder and congenital malformations). RESULTS:For both schizophrenia and developmental disorders, increased penetrance scores were associated with lower surface area in the cerebral cortex and lower intracranial volume. For both conditions, associations between CNV-penetrance scores and cortical surface area were strongest in regions of the occipital lobes, specifically in the cuneus and lingual gyrus. CONCLUSIONS:Our findings link global and regional cortical morphometric features with CNV-penetrance, providing new insights into neurobiological mechanisms of genetic risk for schizophrenia and other developmental disorders.

Exchange rates forecasting using nonlinear autoregressive

In this paper, an attempt has been made to forecast two major exchange rates USDAUD (US Dolar versus Australian Dolar currency) and USDJPY (US Dolar versus Japanese Yen currency) using Non-Linear Autoregressive (NAR) with monthly period data from January 1975 to April 2014. The data is collected from Bank of England. The ecchange rates forecasting use 3 layer models with input, hidden and output layer. The number of hidden nodes are 2, and 3 for USDAUD and USDJPY respectively. Levernberg-Marquardt (LM) learning algorithm is used to do training. The accuracy result for the experiments showed that Dstat parameter for USDAUD (60.56%) is a bit higher than industry standard accuracy but lower than industry standard accuracy for USDJPY (52.11%). The MSE result is 0.3239 for USDAUD and 7.518 for USDJPY.

This paper presents a design, implementation and evaluation of a web-based application called MergeXML (MXML). MXML was developed to integrate XML documents that are similar in terms of structure and content to complete information which can be used for information retrieval. XML documents are clustered into subtrees representing as instances using leaf-node parents as clustering points. The system finds subtree keys from unique values at leaf-node levels. Subtree keys play an important role for mapping subtrees between two documents. Matched subtrees are merged to complete the information on the base XML document. The result shows that MXML is able to cluster subtrees as proper instances. It can merge additional (different) information to the base XML document. MXML is recommended to run with not too large size of XML documents due to time-out settings on the web server.

The reduced basis methodology is an efficient approach to solve parameterized discrete partial differential equations when the solution is needed at many parameter values. An offline step approximates the solution space, and an online step utilizes this approximation, the reduced basis, to solve a smaller reduced problem, which provides an accurate estimate of the solution. Traditionally, the reduced problem is solved using direct methods. However, the size of the reduced system needed to produce solutions of a given accuracy depends on the characteristics of the problem, and it may happen that the size is significantly smaller than that of the original discrete problem but large enough to make direct solution costly. In this scenario, it may be more effective to use iterative methods to solve the reduced problem. We construct preconditioners for reduced iterative methods which are derived from preconditioners for the full problem. This approach permits reduced basis methods to be practical for larger bases than direct methods allow. We illustrate the effectiveness of iterative methods for solving reduced problems by considering two examples, the steady-state diffusion and convection-diffusion-reaction equations. © 2015 Society for Industrial and Applied mathematics.

Context-Aware ubiquitous learning has been recognized as an innovative mobile learning approach that enables students to directly interact with real-world natural phenomena with supports from digital technology. To enhance visualization of the phenomena, computer simulation could be used to simplify the real world using visual representation. These approaches could be used to motivate science-based learning and facilitate inquiry-based learning process in elementary school science. As such, the mobile "Answer Me" application has been created as a cloud-based instructional system to facilitate context-Aware ubiquitous learning in science. In this study, the Answer Me was used to facilitate students' investigation of scientific phenomena of sound. To enhance their comprehension about sound wave, a computer simulation, developed by Physics Education Technology research group, was employed to visualize unobservable phenomena of sound. Both technologies were combined to promote science learning experience regarding predict-observe-explain learning process. Moreover, to evaluate its impact on science learning in elementary school, 54 fifth-grade students were recruited to interact with the app and simulation through POE learning activities. They were examined conceptual understanding about sound and science motivation both before and after the intervention. The results showed that students improved their conceptual understanding about sound and the proposed approach had a positive impact on students' science motivation of learning science by the combined learning experience.
