The article summarizes the experience gained during processing of the data about the terrain of the Bratsk Reservoir bed. We discuss the available sources of information on the land and underwater terrain and justify the choice of the sources used in the project. To measure the actual depths in the regions of interest an echo-sounder of the consumer grade was applied, and we consider the processing of its measurements in some details. We describe the free, open source and custom software, which we apply for the processing of the data. We consider the use of the several algorithms that we have developed for processing of the terrain points. The main goal of this processing is to obtain the combined terrain model, which summarizes the data from the various information sources: the topographic maps, the pilot charts and the echo sounder measurements. All the algorithms considered build and process the triangulations of irregular sets of points. The algorithms used are: constrained Delaunay triangulation construction; removal of artefacts of triangulation, constructed from the terrain isolines; map morphing to reconcile the terrain models: and triangulation fragment replacement. The resulting combined terrain model contains all the information about the terrain in the area of interest and allows to use the model for the further hydrological calculations.

In this paper the authors present a methodology on information support for research on human and environmental impact of Lake Baikal. The geoportal placed on the Internet allows researchers to create a common thematic database (tabular data) and map data (information layers) within the framework of the project, as well as to run Internet services for geoprocessing and complex data analysis problems solving. One of the key features of the engineered geoportal is the ability for users to create the structure of their databases independently (to add, to delete and to modify the tables structure) as well as to configure the run of geoprocessing services. Besides this platform allows you to take on projects on various subjects and with a large number of users simultaneously. They have took on works on 3D modeling of the surface topography of the coastal zone near the village of Listvyanka. Underwater terrain is combined with land relief. As a result catchment basins along which pollutants with groundwater enter the coastal waters of Lake Baikal have been identified. The data on pollution concentration sites is confirmed by practical measurements and coincides with the drainage areas.

We represent a new approach to the development and use of a subject-oriented heterogeneous distributed computing environment for solving large-scale problems of energy security research. Both the development of scalable applications (distributed applied software packages) and the computing resources integration are conducted using the Orlando Tools framework. It supports the collaborative application development based on the continuous integration of their software. Computation management tools in Orlando Tools are integrated with a multi-agent system. We propose special multi-agent tools for the heterogeneous resource allocation in the environment. These tools apply knowledge about the subject domain specifics of solved-problems and computing environment characteristics. The effectiveness of such management is highlighted by the results of solving practical problems of energy security research.

In this paper, a new leader-follower formation control scheme for multiple autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV) networked by sampled-data information is proposed. We consider the case when the leader of the fleet follows a predefined path, whereas other vehicles try keep a desired formation while tracking the maneuvers of the leader. Under the proposed scheme, each vehicle as a leader in the formation periodically samples and transmits to its followers information about its position in global reference frame. The follower, based on the received information, its own sampled data, and the reference path parameters spread over communication network, computes the relative positioning errors and desired motion parameters to feed them to a local controller. Feedback gains of the distributed controlsystem that ensure stability (dissipativity) of formation are synthesized with the use of the vector Lyapunov function technique adopted for sampled-data controlsystem design taking into account communication delays, measurement errors, and saturation of control signals. Some simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

The paper is devoted to the study of a singular nonlinear second-order parabolic equation, which is called the porous medium equation or the nonlinear heat equation. One of the important classes of its solutions is heat waves propagating over a zero background with a finite velocity. This property is not typical for parabolic equations and is a consequence of singularity. The main object of study is exact solutions of mentioned type. A new way of separating variables is used to represent them. We obtain conditions when it is possible to make a reduction to the Cauchy problem for an ordinary second-order differential equation with a singularity. It is shown that the Cauchy problem describes a heat wave whose front moves exponentially. We construct a solution to the Cauchy problem as a power series and determine the cases when the series breaks off, i.e. the solution has the form of a polynomial, and the corresponding heat wave can be written explicitly. If the Cauchy problem cannot be explicitly integrated, the solution is constructed numerically. An algorithm based on the boundary element method is proposed. We perform a computational experiment and conclude the properties of the found solutions. Besides, the accuracy of the calculation results is analyzed.
