In recent years, a significant amount of research is focused on the development of tools for creating composite web-services for solving both business and scientific complex problems. This study discusses tools for building compositions or ensembles of microservices (depending on the method of integration) developed based on the HPCSOMAS framework. These tools are oriented on the application in a package of applied microservices for solving computationally complex problems of structural analysis and parametric synthesis of controlled dynamic systems in a heterogeneous high-performance computing environment. In particular, binary dynamic systems are studied using the Boolean constraint method for both their qualitative analysis and synthesis of laws to control these systems. Creating and executing composite services is carried out on a semantic peer-to-peer network of agents. The HPCSOMAS framework supports two modes of these processes, both the static creation and application of a composite service based on the procedural formulation of the problem and dynamic, based on the declarative formulation. In the first case, agents deployed on the network perform hierarchical control over the execution of the composition of microservices, in the second case, decentralized asynchronous management of the ensemble of microservices. Both operating modes are automated, and the validity of the resulting composite service is checked based on a logical approach. The tools are aimed both at a professional programmer and the end-user, a specialist in the subject domain. The HPCSOMAS framework supports the execution of composite microservices in a hybrid computing infrastructure, which includes both cloud and on-premises resources. The paper represents a prototype of service-oriented tools for developing digital twins. These tools automate most of the stages in preparing and carrying out a computational experiment reducing the possibility of human error. Computational experiments based on simulation modeling are performed using the proposed tools. As an example in applying the represented tools, a digital twin of a heat pump used as environmentally-friendly equipment of an infrastructure object on the Baikal natural territory is considered. Owing to the growing anthropogenic load, special attention is paid to the objects located at the coast of Lake Baikal. During the simulation modeling, both the heat pump performance characteristics and retrospective meteorological data are used to predict climatic conditions and select optimal control parameters. In addition, the computational experiment has obviously shown that heat pump use significantly reduces the harmful effect on the environment. © 2021 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

This paper addresses the problems of fractional programming which data is given by d.c. functions. Such problems are, in general, nonconvex (with numerous local extrema). We develop an efficient global search method for fractional program based on two different approaches. The first approach develops the Dinkelbach's idea and uses a solution of an equation with the optimal value of an auxiliary d.c. optimization problem with a vector parameter. The second one deals with another auxiliary problem with nonconvex inequality constraints. Both auxiliary problems are d.c. optimization problems, which allows us to apply the Global Optimization theory and develop two corresponding global search algorithms. The algorithms have been substantiated and tested on an extended set of sum-of-ratios problems with up to 200 variables and 200 terms in the sum. Also we propose an algorithm for solving problems of fractional programming, which combines the two approaches. © Copyright by the paper's authors.

The main objective of qualitative research is to analyze the behavior of the trajectories of a dynamic system to verify whether it corresponds to the set of constraints characterizing the property. We use an approach to study binary dynamic systems on a finite time interval based on the author's method of Boolean constraints. Based on this method, the Boolean model of the properties of a binary dynamic system is written in the language of Boolean equations or Boolean formulas with quantifiers. Thus, the verification of various dynamical properties is reduced to solving the problems of Boolean constraints satisfiability or the validity of a quantified Boolean formula using efficient SAT or TQBF solvers. The high computational complexity of these problems requires the development of software and tools for their parallel and distributed solving and ensuring transparent end-user access to high-performance computing environments based on a service-oriented approach. This paper represents the architecture and functionality of a new instrumental system that automates the creation of a distributed application for solving the considered class of problems based on the microservice approach and multi-agent technology. This paper explores the possibility of designing an efficient global optimization algorithm using an artificial intelligence chatbot, ChatGPT. The main idea is to use the swarm intelligence metaheuristic method, which operates on a set of particles in a swarm, to solve non-local univariate search problems. Testing was carried out on a set of one-dimensional non-convex functions with varying numbers of local optima. The results demonstrate that this algorithm can be used to solve multi-extremal optimization problems. The paper presents the results of a numerical study on the properties of this algorithm in comparison with the Piyavsky method, the Strongin method, and a combination of the Strongin with the Parabolas methods. The performed computational experiments testify to the suitability of the obtained swarm intelligence algorithm for solving univariate non-local search problems. This approach can also be useful for solving auxiliary optimization problems and for developing multimethod computational technologies. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

The paper addresses the relevant problem of data preparation for testing modules of scientific applications. Such testing requires the multiple executions of modules with different parameters for various scenarios of solving problems in applications. Often, data sources for parameters used for problem-solving are subject data (experimental results, reports, statistical forms and other information resources) created earlier as a result of functioning various objects of a subject domain. Usually, such data are heterogeneous and weakly structured. The developer of scientific applications has to make additional efforts in extracting, cleaning, integrating, and formatting data in order to achieve the correctness and efficiency of their use in applications. The aim of the study is the development of a framework for automating the description of semi-structured data and their transformation into target structures used by scientific applications. We proposed a conceptual model that allows us to represent knowledge about the structure of the source data, determine their relations with the target structures and set the rules for data transformation. Additionally, we developed a framework prototype. It is integrated into the technological scheme of continuous integration for modules of scientific applications (distributed applied software packages) that are developed with the help of Orlando Tools. This paper addresses numerical solution of a 3-player polymatrix game (hexamatrix game) which is is reduced to a special nonconvex optimization problem with a bilinear structure in the objective function. For the latter problem, the numerical method for finding the Nash equilibrium is built. This method is based on the Global Search theory developed by A.S. Strekalovsky and was tested on randomly generated hexamatrix games to demonstrate its efficiency and reliability. © 2017 Slovenian Society Informatika. All Rights Reserved.

The complexity of exhaustive problems with the properties of large-scale, openness, unpredictable dynamics, and component mobility determines the relevance of developing microservice-oriented software for their solving in a hybrid computational environment. We propose an approach for adapting to this environment both the existing software and new ones developed using new automated technology for creating an applied microservice package and organizing control of computations in it. The distributed computational model is represented by a set of small, loosely coupled, replaceable, interacting with the use of lightweight communication mechanisms autonomous microservices that implement the functions of the program package modules. The decentralized management of the microservices interaction is carried out by a self-organizing multi-agent system, agents of which are delegated the rights to launch microservices. The paper discusses the models, methods, and software platform that form the basis of the proposed technology. We demonstrate the application of the applied microservice package, based on this technology, for solving the problems of qualitative analysis of binary dynamic system using the author's Boolean constraints method. This paper deals with optimal impulsive control problems whose states are functions of bounded variation and impulsive controls are regular vector measures. The problem under consideration has multipoint state constraints. Examples of such problems may be found in mechanics, quantum electronics, robotics, ecology, economics, etc. Sufficient global optimality conditions involving certain sets of Lyapunov type functions are proposed. These Lyapunov type functions are strongly monotone solutions of the corresponding Hamilton-Jacobi inequalities. © Copyright by the paper's authors.

The property of observability of controlled binary dynamical systems is investigated. A formal definition of the property is given in the language of applied logic of predicates with bounded quantifiers of existence and universality. A Boolean model of the property is built in the form of a quantified Boolean formula accordingly to the Boolean constraints method developed by the authors. This formula satisfies both the logical specification of the property and the equations of the binary system dynamics. Aspects of the proposed approach implementation for the study of the observability property are considered. The technology of checking the feasibility of the property using an applied microservice package is demonstrated in several examples. Copyright © 2021 for this paper by its authors.
