The paper deals with techniques of constructing optimal control problems and testing optimization software for controlled dynamical systems. A test collection of nonconvex optimal control problems has been developed and used for studying the properties of optimization software. The description of the collection problems is made using the generated template, which includes the formulation of the problem statement, characteristics of the computational process and the obtained results, containing graphical visualizations of the reachable set and optimal controls with corresponding trajectories. Several testing techniques based on presented collection are proposed.

Creating embedded decision-making modules for web applications that implement artificial intelligence methods in the form of knowledge bases is quite an interesting task. Specialized methodologies and software are being developed to solve them. At the same time, the use of generative and visual programming principles, as well as model transformations, can provide better results. In our previous works, we proposed to apply these principles combined with the model-driven approach for the automated creation of expert systems and knowledge bases. In this paper, we extend the previously developed method with new platforms, in particular: PHP (Hypertext Preprocessor) and Drools, as well as we add the possibility to use the decision tables formalism and Microsoft Excel tools for their construction. The modified (extended) method allows one to effectively create knowledge bases with a large number of logical rules and generate the source code for web embedded decision-making modules. This extension is implemented as a plugin for an expert system prototyping system, namely, Personal Knowledge Base Designer. This paper describes the extended method and examples of its application for the development of web application modules: for making decisions when detecting banned messages and identifying customers who violate rules of using the SMS notification service ("Detector"), and interpreting signs of emotions within the HR-Robot application ("EmSi-Interpreter"). The proposed method was also evaluated in solving educational (test) tasks. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The paper addresses the nonconvex nonsmooth optimization problem with the cost function, and equality and inequality constraints given by d.c. functions, i.e. represented as a difference of convex functions. The original problem is reduced to a problem without constraints with the help of the exact penalization theory. After that, the penalized problem is represented as a d.c. minimization problem without constraints, for which the new mathematical tools under the form of global optimality conditions (GOCs) are developed. The GOCs reduce the nonconvex problem in question to a family of convex (linearized with respect to the basic nonconvexities) problems. In addition, the GOCs are related to some nonsmooth form of the KKT-theorem for the original problem. Besides, the GOCs possess the constructive (algorithmic) property, which, when the GOCs are broken down, implies the producing of a feasible point that is better (in the original problem) than the one in question. The effectiveness of the GOCs is demonstrated by examples. © 2021 Journal of Applied and Numerical Optimization.

The freely available tabular data represented in various digital formats, such as print-oriented documents, spreadsheets, and web pages, are a valuable source to populate knowledge graphs. However, difficulties that inevitably arise with the extraction and integration of the tabular data often hinder their intensive use in practice. TabbyDOC project aims at elaborating a theoretical basis and developing open software for data extraction from arbitrary tables. Previously, it was devoted to the following issues: (i) table extraction tables from print-oriented documents, (ii) data transformation from spreadsheet tables to relational and linked data. This paper summarizes the project’s results that are intended for the following tasks: (i) automation of fine-tuning artificial neural networks for table detection in document images, (ii) a synthesis of programs for spreadsheet data transformation driven by user-defined rules of table analysis and interpretation, and (iii) generating RDF-triples from entities extracted from relational tables. © 2021 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

The Web stores a large volume of web-tables with semi-structured data. The Semantic Web community considers them as a valuable source for the knowledge graph population. Interrelated named entities can be extracted from web-tables and mapped to a knowledge graph. It generally requires reconstructing the semantics missing in web-tables to interpret them according to their meaning. This paper discusses prospects of an end-to-end solution for the knowledge graph population by entities extracted from web-tables of predefined types. The discussion covers theoretical foundations both for transforming data from web-tables to entity sets (table analysis) and for mapping entities, attributes, and relations to a knowledge graph (semantic table annotation). Unlike general-purpose text mining and web-scraping tools, we aim at developing a solution that takes into account the relational nature of the information represented in web-tables. In contrast to the table-specific proposals, our approach implies both the table analysis and the semantic table annotation. © 2021 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

A spreadsheet is one of popular forms for presentation and transferring data of the same types. The area of using this kind of documents is very widespread. Extraction tables from spreadsheets and their understanding are significant tasks that allow getting useful information for further use, for example in processes of integration data that obtained from various sources. As rule tables in spreadsheets create by humans and for humans use. This feature could be the reason that tables may contain messy data such as misprints, errors of calculation, incorrect structure etc. It leads to the complication of automated table processing and understanding. This paper has discussed some approaches to data cleanse that improve the quality of tabular data. The approaches consist of checking and correction of cells calculation and spelling errors. We use phonetic words similarity to correct spelling mistakes in words and heuristic algorithms to detect calculated values in cells. © 2020 for this paper by its authors. The paper addresses relevant issues applying the concept of Industry 4.0 in related to modeling infrastructure objects at the Baikal natural territory that use environmentally friendly technologies. In particular, the use of heat pumps belongs to such technologies, since this enables us to reduce air emissions. Object models are designed on the basis of their digital twins. Digital twins are intended to reflect the structure and processes of object functioning. In addition, we plan to delegate them the decision-making in managing these objects in real-time. Such a digital twin has to become smarter over time. This virtual entity has to gain knowledge and skills to select optimal scenarios for controlling object and improving its functioning parameters. Therefore, the initial problem in its development is creating a monitoring system for the collection, unification, aggregation, storage, and transmission of subject-oriented data. Such data include information about the object operation and environmental state. The data must be promptly obtained from peripheral equipment (controlling and measuring devices). For the effective operation of a digital twin, we have to partially transfer functions of primary data processing, their intellectual analysis and decision-making to the controlling and measuring devices. We offer a specialized toolkit for automating both knowledge management when creating an applied microservices package and data accumulating during its application for scientific computations in a hybrid computing environment. The decentralized solving of the declaratively formulated problem is carried out by an active agent group. This group is self-organized by logical inference on the distributed knowledge base of a subject domain. The developed toolkit automates the creating and updating of the local knowledge base of the manager-agent of applied microservices package, as well as the local knowledge bases of distributed computational agents. Local knowledge bases are formed using a description of the interface of computational microservices managed by these agents. Microservice ensembles, corresponding to the active group, are stored in the knowledge base of the manager-agent. The developed toolkit uses this information for testing microservice in the case of its update. In hybrid computing, this toolkit provides synchronizing, archiving, and saving of calculated data. Hybrid infrastructure combines the reliability and availability of using on-premises computers with scaling to the cloud when peak loads occur. The paper discusses the problem of preparing a computing environment for large-scale scientific experiments in the process of continuous integration of applied and system software. A comparative analysis of software configuration management tools (such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, and SaltStack) of computational nodes in a heterogeneous environment is being performed. These tools are intended for automating the configuration of different nodes. Such automation reduces the setup time of nodes and increases the reliability of computations by minimizing the number of software and hardware failures, associated with the human factor in the manual configuration process. For the development of scientific applications, the Orlando Tools framework is used. Based on the results of the comparative analysis and requirements of this framework, the Ansible framework was selected for further integration into the chain of continuous integration of applied and system software. Practical experiments have shown the advantages of using Ansible in comparison with other systems of a similar purpose. Copyright © 2020 for this paper by its authors. Nowadays, applying various market-based methods for regulating supply and demand of resources for distributed computing is becoming increasingly relevant. In particular, different forms of standard auctions are actively used. However, their basic capabilities often do not enable to fully solve the complicated problems of resource allocation in a heterogeneous distributed computing environment. In this regard, a tender of computational works based on a combinatorial Vickrey auction has been designed. It is applied within multi-agent computing management. For the tender, new models are proposed to rank the criteria of resources owners and users. The tender use advantages are shown in comparison with traditional meta-schedulers.
