A constructive logical method for the synthesis of the characteristic matrix of a linear binary dynamical system with a given set of one-point attractors and one-step dynamics of reaching this set from any state is proposed. The problem conditions are written as a quantified Boolean formula with subsequent verification of its truth using the QSAT solver. This solver provide the values of the elements of the required matrix as a certificate. The proposed method implementation is performed using automation tools for constructing and executing composite services in an applied microservices package for solving problems of qualitative research of binary dynamic systems. These tools provide cloud services for getting a quantified Boolean formula in QDIMACS format, verifying its truth, getting a constructive solution to the considered problem, and supporting synchronization of cloud and local data in a hybrid cloud infrastructure using Dew Computing. © 2021 Croatian Society MIPRO.

For the tasks considering changes of water level it is required to have a combined (above water and underwater) elevation model. And the highest accuracy requirements are imposed on the parts of the model, which produce the contour lines in the range of the actual water level changes, while the information about the underwater elevation is usually very scarce and rough. In the article we consider the possibility to obtain this part of the elevation model using open high resolution (10 m/pixel) satellite images corresponding to different water levels. Here we describe the technique, which allows us to obtain the subpixel accuracy of the resulting contour lines. And we consider the problems in the quality of the satellite images that the contour lines reveal, and some ways to deal with the problems. © 2021 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

Micrologistic transport systems are ports, transport hubs, railway terminals (railway stations and marshalling yards), and other micro-level transport objects. Such systems are dynamic ones, whose parameters are time-dependent. Consequently, transient processes appear. These processes last for some time and then subside. Then the system goes into a stationary mode of operation. To solve most engineering problems, it is sufficient to find the stationary characteristics of the system. However, some problems require knowledge of the properties of transients. In this paper, we use the previously presented technology for modeling the operation of micrologistic transport systems to study transients in various transport objects. We consider two types of micrologistic transport systems, such as passenger and cargo, and design their models in the form of two-phase and three-phase queuing systems with BMAP flows. For these queuing systems, we compile Kolmogorov systems of ordinary differential equations. Their analytical study is difficult;therefore, to solve such systems, we use numerical methods. Overall, we find the transition probabilities of system states. We compare the obtained probabilities with stationary characteristics, which allows us to draw conclusions about the properties of transients in the considered systems. © 2021 institute of Physics Publishing. This paper addresses the nonconvex optimal control (OC) problem with the cost functional and inequality constraint given by the functionals of Bolza. All the functions in the statement of the problem are state-DC, i.e. presented by a difference of the state-convex functions. Meanwhile, the control system is state-linear. Further, with the help of the Exact Penalization theory we propose the state-DC form of the penalized cost functional and, using the linearization with respect to the basic nonconvexity of the penalized problem, we study the linearized OC problem. On this basis, we develop a general scheme of the special Local Search Method with a varying penalty parameter. Finally, we address the convergence of the proposed scheme. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

This paper explores the possibility of designing an efficient global optimization algorithm using an artificial intelligence chatbot, ChatGPT. The main idea is to use the swarm intelligence metaheuristic method, which operates on a set of particles in a swarm, to solve non-local univariate search problems. Testing was carried out on a set of one-dimensional non-convex functions with varying numbers of local optima. The results demonstrate that this algorithm can be used to solve multi-extremal optimization problems. The paper presents the results of a numerical study on the properties of this algorithm in comparison with the Piyavsky method, the Strongin method, and a combination of the Strongin with the Parabolas methods. The performed computational experiments testify to the suitability of the obtained swarm intelligence algorithm for solving univariate non-local search problems. This approach can also be useful for solving auxiliary optimization problems and for developing multimethod computational technologies. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

The paper presents algorithms for constructing nonlinear integral models based on the Volterra series tool. Modeling of dynamic processes means assessing the response to possible external changes in real time. The vector of input signals may include measured influences and control actions to be identified based on an analysis of the current state. We use identification algorithms based on the theory of Volterra polynomial equations of the first kind. An approach to the approximate solution to selected types of nonlinear systems of Volterra integral equations using the Newton-Kantorovich method is presented. We use the numerical solution to the corresponding linear system of equations as a trial solution. Calculation schemes obtained with help the standard quadrature methods are given.

Personnel scheduling is an active research field motivated by not only economic considerations but also the understanding of importance of improving working conditions and fairness in assigning employees to tasks. A large number of daily tasks and an expanding staff require effective automation of the task allocation process. In the problem under consideration, given sets of tasks and staff, it is required to assign the certain number of employees to each task, taking into account their skills. The goal is to minimize penalties induced by conflicting assignments as well as by uneven workload of the staff. To solve the problem, a two-phase heuristic consisting of a greedy heuristic followed by a randomize tabu search has been developed. Computational experiments shows that the proposed approach allows us to find optimal or near-optimal solutions on instances corresponding to real-life problems. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

We address a variation of the multi-skill resource-constrained project scheduling problem motivated by the need to find a quality schedule for the construction activities related to rolling-out a large network of mobile stations. The network roll-out (NRO) is a complex industrial project aimed at deploying a set of mobile stations in certain region. This requires attracting a set of contractors, who can provide worker teams that have skills to execute specific project activities depending on their type. The problem also involves some additional specific industrial requirements related to how the contractors’ workload should be distributed during the project duration (workload stability constraints). Other important industrial constraints are the precedence redundancy constraints on the project activities. We formulate this problem as a mixed-integer linear program that can be viewed as a disaggregated time-indexed integer programming formulation with pulse variables. To find quality feasible solutions of the problem, we propose a two-phase MIP heuristic consisting of (i) a relax-and-fix heuristic followed by (ii) a large neighborhood search. The effectiveness of the proposed solution approach is demonstrated in extensive computational experiments on real world problem instances. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

This article presents the method for modelling underwater three-dimensional topography and it's combining with terrain under conditions of incomplete source data. The technique for constructing 3D elevation model was tested within the research projects conducted in matrosov institute for system dynamics and control theory Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in collaboration with colleagues from other research institutes of Irkutsk Scientific Center under the comprehensive studies of Lake Baikal, the Angara River and the Bratsk Reservoir. We present an algorithm for combining underwater topography with terrain based on heterogeneous source data using the Delaunay triangulation. The combining yields a high-quality 3D elevation model. This model can be used to make forecasts of the changes in the coastlines of reservoirs, which are associated with water discharges from hydroelectric power stations. The described technique was used to solve some practical problems and showed its effectiveness. To combine the data on the terrain and underwater topography, we developed a special software using the Delaunay triangulation algorithms. For data layers, their roles were indicated during the triangulation. Layers contained the information about terrain, watermarks, contours of the coastline, and underwater topography. For underwater topography, we used the information about the marks of the water edge. Based on these data, we built an additional triangulation, from which we subsequently obtained the information about heights because contours of coastlines are confined to heights, and depths are measured relative to heights. As a result of this study, we processed some settlements and estimated possible flooding. © 2021 institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.
