A logic method for structural-parametric synthesis of a binary dynamical system with a given periodic trajectory is proposed. This method provides a constructive solution for the considered problem. The attraction region of such a trajectory must coincide with a given subset of the state space. An additional constraint sets the acceptable time for reaching this trajectory from its attraction region. As admissible structures for dynamical models of the synthesis, we consider the following systems: linear systems, systems with the disjunctive and conjunctive right sides. All conditions of the problem are written in the form of a quantified Boolean formula with subsequent verification of its truth using a specialized solver, which gives values of the required parameters of the dynamical model. The software implementation of the proposed method in the form of a composite service is presented. All stages of the parametric synthesis of a Boolean network based on the proposed method are demonstrated in the example of a one-step linear system. Copyright © 2021 for this paper by its authors.

Facility disruptions or failures may occur due to natural disasters or a deliberate man-made attack. Such an attack is known as interdiction. Recently, facility location problems, addressing intentional strikes against operating facilities and strategies to reduce their impact, have received particular attention. In this paper, we present a new location-interdiction median problem aimed at designing a distribution network which is robust to the worst-case, long-term facility losses. We suppose that there are two players: defender (system designer) and attacker. The defender decides where to locate facilities to minimize the overall cost of supplying the demands of customers. The attacker determines which r facilities to interdict to maximize the cost of serving the customers from the remaining operational facilities. Note that we suppose that the facilities are attacked simultaneously and interdicted facilities become unavailable. We propose bilevel and single-level integer formulations of this problem. For a particular case when the attacker hits a single facility, we develop a fast local search procedure based on implicit enumeration of interdiction strategies. We test our approaches in a series of computational experiments on well-known test problems. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Described software system for forest resources modeling on the case study of Irkutsk region on the basis of a model for the calculation of age classes over wide areas, taking into account the economic development of the territory. Various scenarios for the development of forests have been calculated, differing in the volume of natural and anthropogenic factors. The paper addresses a relevant problem of computation scheduling in scientific applications (distributed applied software packages) executed in distributed environments. Forming an optimal schedule of jobs for executing of applied software (modules) is an NP-hard problem. Therefore, in practice, heuristic methods of scheduling are often used. In this regard, we propose a new static-dynamic algorithm for managing computations in heterogeneous distributed environments. The results of operating the proposed algorithm are simulated in comparison with other scenarios for computing management. They show that applying the algorithm makes it possible to achieve a rational balance between the scheduling time and the computations makespan. © 2021 for this paper by its authors. The article proposes a method based on using binary dynamical systems in the classification problem for Boolean vectors (binary feature vectors). This problem has practical application in various fields of science and industry, for example, bioinformatics, remote sensing of natural objects, smart devices of the Internet of things, etc. Binary synchronous autonomous nonlinear dynamic models with an unknown characteristic matrix are considered. Matrix elements are chosen in such a way that the Boolean reference vectors are equilibrium states of the binary dynamic model. The attraction regions of equilibrium states act as classes (one reference vector corresponds to each class). The classified vector is the initial state of the model. Simple and aggregated classifiers are considered. The proposed method is demonstrated using an illustrative example. © 2021 for this paper by its authors. This paper addresses numerical solution of a 3-player polymatrix game (hexamatrix game) which is is reduced to a special nonconvex optimization problem with a bilinear structure in the objective function. For the latter problem, the numerical method for finding the Nash equilibrium is built. This method is based on the Global Search theory developed by A.S. Strekalovsky and was tested on randomly generated hexamatrix games to demonstrate its efficiency and reliability. © 2017 Slovenian Society Informatika. All Rights Reserved.

The complexity of exhaustive problems with the properties of large-scale, openness, unpredictable dynamics, and component mobility determines the relevance of developing microservice-oriented software for their solving in a hybrid computational environment. We propose an approach for adapting to this environment both the existing software and new ones developed using new automated technology for creating an applied microservice package and organizing control of computations in it. The distributed computational model is represented by a set of small, loosely coupled, replaceable, interacting with the use of lightweight communication mechanisms autonomous microservices that implement the functions of the program package modules. The decentralized management of the microservices interaction is carried out by a self-organizing multi-agent system, agents of which are delegated the rights to launch microservices. The paper discusses the models, methods, and software platform that form the basis of the proposed technology. We demonstrate the application of the applied microservice package, based on this technology, for solving the problems of qualitative analysis of binary dynamic system using the author's Boolean constraints method. The paper discusses the problem of preparing a computing environment for large-scale scientific experiments in the process of continuous integration of applied and system software. A comparative analysis of software configuration management tools (such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, and SaltStack) of computational nodes in a heterogeneous environment is being performed. These tools are intended for automating the configuration of different nodes. Such automation reduces the setup time of nodes and increases the reliability of computations by minimizing the number of software and hardware failures, associated with the human factor in the manual configuration process. For the development of scientific applications, the Orlando Tools framework is used. Based on the results of the comparative analysis and requirements of this framework, the Ansible framework was selected for further integration into the chain of continuous integration of applied and system software. Practical experiments have shown the advantages of using Ansible in comparison with other systems of a similar purpose. Copyright © 2020 for this paper by its authors. The paper addresses issues of continuous integration in the development of scientific applications based on workflows (special case of distributed applied software packages) for heterogeneous computing environments. The preparation and carrying out of scientific computational experiments are often accompanied by intensive software modification. Thus, there is a need for the following stages: building, testing, debugging, and installation new versions of software in heterogeneous nodes of environment. These stages may take longer time overheads than computations themselves. The solution to this challenge lies in the use of tools for continuous integration of software. However, such tools require deep integration with the tools for the workflow development because of scientific workflow specifics. To this end, the paper describes the combination of the author's Orlando Tools framework for the development and use packages with the GitLab system that is widely used for continuous integration. Such combination significantly reduces the complexity of software continuous when developing and using packages. Copyright © 2020 for this paper by its authors. Nowadays, applying various market-based methods for regulating supply and demand of resources for distributed computing is becoming increasingly relevant. In particular, different forms of standard auctions are actively used. However, their basic capabilities often do not enable to fully solve the complicated problems of resource allocation in a heterogeneous distributed computing environment. In this regard, a tender of computational works based on a combinatorial Vickrey auction has been designed. It is applied within multi-agent computing management. For the tender, new models are proposed to rank the criteria of resources owners and users. The tender use advantages are shown in comparison with traditional meta-schedulers.
