The freely available tabular data represented in various digital formats, such as print-oriented documents, spreadsheets, and web pages, are a valuable source to populate knowledge graphs. However, difficulties that inevitably arise with the extraction and integration of the tabular data often hinder their intensive use in practice. TabbyDOC project aims at elaborating a theoretical basis and developing open software for data extraction from arbitrary tables. Previously, it was devoted to the following issues: (i) table extraction tables from print-oriented documents, (ii) data transformation from spreadsheet tables to relational and linked data. This paper summarizes the project’s results that are intended for the following tasks: (i) automation of fine-tuning artificial neural networks for table detection in document images, (ii) a synthesis of programs for spreadsheet data transformation driven by user-defined rules of table analysis and interpretation, and (iii) generating RDF-triples from entities extracted from relational tables. © 2021 Copyright for this paper by its authors.

A spreadsheet is one of popular forms for presentation and transferring data of the same types. The area of using this kind of documents is very widespread. Extraction tables from spreadsheets and their understanding are significant tasks that allow getting useful information for further use, for example in processes of integration data that obtained from various sources. As rule tables in spreadsheets create by humans and for humans use. This feature could be the reason that tables may contain messy data such as misprints, errors of calculation, incorrect structure etc. It leads to the complication of automated table processing and understanding. This paper has discussed some approaches to data cleanse that improve the quality of tabular data. The approaches consist of checking and correction of cells calculation and spelling errors. We use phonetic words similarity to correct spelling mistakes in words and heuristic algorithms to detect calculated values in cells. © 2020 for this paper by its authors. New results related to rule-based reasoning component of knowledge-based systems development platform are considered in the paper. Namely, the technique for the alternative way of rule creation based on the decision table approach is proposed. The data model of the decision table in the context of the platform, the transformation scheme from the decision table into rules are suggested. The implementation issues based on previously developed components are also discussed. The graphical user interface and database diagram are shown. As an illustrative example, the problem of identification of degradation processes of mechanical systems is chosen. The proposed technique is well suited for situations when there are numerous combinations of the facts of quite large set of templates in condition and action parts of rules. The end-user benefits are to represent knowledge in a tabular form that is convenient for analysis and evaluation, as well as to reduce the number of actions when creating a rule by the description of repeated actions in the transformation scheme. © 2020 for this paper by its authors. The substantiation of the conceptual properties of complex technical systems (CTS) requires the use of knowledge of many engineering disciplines and the involvement of specialists from various subject areas. These properties are used for the implementation of the main functions, reliability and safety of CTS and can be substrate on the basis of the principle of self-organization. The technique of rule-based knowledge bases can be used for its implementation. The mechanism of self-organization involves the creation of a new computational structure for each object of investigation and interdisciplinary task to be solved. Spreadsheet data are a valuable source of knowledge in data science and business intelligence applications. However, most commonly, spreadsheets are not accompanied by explicit semantics which are necessary for a machine interpretation of their contents. Information accumulated in spreadsheets is often poorly structured and not standardized. Analysis of this tabular data requires its preliminary extraction and transformation to a structured representation with the subsequent recovering of the implicit semantics. In this paper, we consider a conception of software for semantic interpretation of spreadsheet data in XLSX format and the linked data generation in the form of RDF triplets. We suggest to use DBpedia as a global taxonomy of concepts for understanding and conceptualizing the content of tables. A list of the main functions of this software is also provided. The development of intelligent systems and their software components (modules) continues to be a complex and time-consuming task. One of the ways to improve the efficiency of this process is to use the principles of generative and visual programming, as well as the model transformations in the context of conceptualization, formalization, and automatic codification of knowledge. This work is devoted to the description of one of the elements of the information technology for Prototyping Experts systems and these components based on Transformations (namely, PESoT), in particular, to the method. This method implements and redefines the basic principles of the model-driven approach: models and the development process in the form of a chain of sequential transformations of models with more abstraction to ones with less abstraction and obtaining interpreted program codes and specifications at the end of this chain. Domain conceptual models and specific spreadsheets are used as source (computational-independent) models. The method is designed for non-programming users and reduces the time for creating prototypes of intelligent modules and expert systems by automating the codification stage and using existing domain models. © 2020 for this paper by its authors. The article considers information technologies for monitoring pollution of lake systems. The authors created a geoportal that provides collection and generalization of the results of researches of anthropogenic impact on the ecology of Lake Baikal. Expanded on the geoportal Internet services, provide a comprehensive analysis of collected data and their geoprocessing. The open architecture of the developed geoportal allows expanding its functionality by addition of new services which can be deployed both locally, on the geoportal server, as well as on any other server in the Internet. The interoperability of software systems that implement the analysis and geodata processing functions is provided due to support of geoinformatics standards. One of the features of the developed geoportal is that users can independently operate structures of data and adjust launching of services of geoprocessing, including those services that use computing power of The Center of collective usage "Irkutsk supercomputer center Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science". The authors carried out the initial filling of the system database with the results of research, thematic cartographic layers were constructed. A number of services was deployed on the geoportal in order to provide geodata processing. Authors constructed a coordinated digital model of land and bottom relief near Listvyanka using the original library of triangulation and the technology of morphing of digital maps. This model of relief allows solving the problems of analysis of the distribution of pollutants taking into account the landscape. © 2018 CEUR-WS. All rights reserved.

The paper deals with the problem of optimal packing of two sets of circles (2-D spheres) into a simply connected container. The number of circles is given. The radii of these circles are equal within each set, but, generally speaking, they differ between sets. There are two different statements of a such problem. The simplest one is when the circles of a larger radius are located first, and then smaller circles are packed into the gaps. Solving of a such problem, in fact, reduces to a two-fold solution of the equal circles packing problem. However, the procedure is complicated by the fact that in the second solution the container will be a multiply connected set. We consider a more complex formulation: it is required to maximize the radii of the circles when their ratio is fixed. The circle packing problem is usually studied in the case when the distance between points is Euclidean and even then belongs to the class of NP-hard problems. We assume that the distance is determined by means of some special metric, which, generally speaking, is not Euclidean. The special numerical algorithm is suggested and implemented. It based on optical-geometric approach, which is developed by the authors in recent years and previously used only for packing circles of equal radius. The results of computational experiment are presented and discussed.
