Modern retail businesses face a significant challenge with the inefficiency of manually changing price labels on shelves. This manual process not only consumes valuable time and resources but also increases the likelihood of errors, leading to potential inaccuracies in pricing and a less streamlined shopping experience for customers. The proposed solution is the implementation of an Electronic Shelf Label (ESL) system that automatically displays the prices of goods on retail business shelves. This system connects a website (front end and back end) to e-paper via a Wi-Fi network and microcontroller, allowing retail business owners to update prices more easily. Additionally, buyers can search for desired items through the website. The results are the time to send data from the website to the e-paper, namely, to know the performance of the e-paper used. The average time required from 10 attempts to send data from the website to the e-paper is 20.935 seconds. Since the data is connected to the server and will be updated automatically, using this system will be more efficient than manually changing the price label, although it takes time to transfer data from the website to the e-paper. © 2024 IEEE.

Lung disease, especially Tuberculosis (TBC), placed the highest death rate in Indonesia. Tuberculosis (TB) in Indonesia is ranked second after India. Therefore, it is important to reduce or early detection of the lung disease, to prevent this disease and speed up handling. The system can recognize the disease lung identification, and the system applied as standalone system. In this work, the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) approach for identifying diseases lung identification is proposed. The Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) applied to process the stethoscope sounds which will used as input to the CNN. The performance of the proposed system has been investigated and resulted. The accuracy of 99% and 98%, for training and testing accuracy respectively. Furthermore, the system accurately detects lung diseases identification. © 2024 IEEE.

The rapid advancement of AI has led to the rise of Audio Deepfakes (AD), which pose serious ethical and security concerns by accurately mimicking human speech. This research addresses the urgent need for effective AD detection, with a focus on gender bias that can reduce the effectiveness of detection models. We examined how gender affects the performance of both Machine Learning (Support Vector Machine, Random Forest, Logistic Regression, XGBoost) and Deep Learning (Deep Neural Networks, Convolutional Neural Networks) models using the GBAD dataset. Our findings show that models trained on female audio outperform those trained on male audio, likely due to the expressive nature of female voice features and high-pitched artifacts in FAKE audio. This highlights the need for more robust, gender-sensitive detection systems. Future work should focus on developing adaptive models to reduce gender bias, improving security, and creating lightweight models for wider public use.

Solar energy is one of the most abundant sources of renewable energy in Indonesia. Solar energy is now typically harnessed using solar panels, but the low efficiency of photovoltaic cells requires the development of other alternatives. The heliostat is a sunlight directing device with mirrors that can be used in a concentrated solar power system. Current heliostats require high capital investment due to their large frames and expensive components. This research was undertaken to develop a lower cost heliostat using a smaller frame, ESP32 microcontroller, servo motor and low-cost components. The position of the sun can be determined using an algorithm based on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) solar calculator, and the mirror is moved to maintain the sun's reflection on a target. The result of this research is a set of heliostat prototypes consisting of the frame and control system. Tests were carried out to test the performance of the designed heliostat and it was found that the heliostat has an accuracy of about 60 cm and can raise temperatures up to 3.41°C. The conclusion is that the heliostat can be used in a concentrated solar power system to heat boilers in solar power towers.

Background: To evaluate the effect of the weighting of input imaging combo and ADC threshold on the performance of the U-Net and to find an optimized input imaging combo and ADC threshold in segmenting acute ischemic stroke (AIS) lesion. Methods: This study retrospectively enrolled a total of 212 patients having AIS. Four combos, including ADC-ADC-ADC (AAA), DWI-ADC-ADC (DAA), DWI-DWI-ADC (DDA), and DWI-DWI-DWI (DDD), were used as input images, respectively. Three ADC thresholds including 0.6, 0.8 and 1.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s were applied. Dice similarity coefficient (DSC) was used to evaluate the segmentation performance of U-Nets. Nonparametric Kruskal–Wallis test with Tukey–Kramer post-hoc tests were used for comparison. A p <.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The DSC significantly varied among different combos of images and different ADC thresholds. Hybrid U-Nets outperformed uniform U-Nets at ADC thresholds of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s and 0.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s (p <.001). The U-Net with imaging combo of DDD had segmentation performance similar to hybrid U-Nets at an ADC threshold of 1.8 × 10^–3 mm²/s (p =.062 to 1). The U-Net using the imaging combo of DAA at the ADC threshold of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s achieved the highest DSC in the segmentation of AIS lesion. Conclusions: The segmentation performance of U-Net for AIS varies among the input imaging combos and ADC thresholds. The U-Net is optimized by choosing the imaging combo of DAA at an ADC threshold of 0.6 × 10^–3 mm²/s in segmentating AIS lesion with highest DSC. Denitrifying polyphosphate accumulating organisms (DPAOs), are capable of nitrate and/or nitrite (NO2-) reduction coupled to P uptake when subjected to alternating anaerobic/anoxic conditions. However, strong accumulation of nitrous oxide (N2O) has been previously observed in DPAO enrichments under high NO2- concentrations. To date, denitrification capability and denitrifying P uptake rates of DPAOs using different electron acceptors after long-term exposure to elevated NO2- concentration hasn't been examined. To address this knowledge gap, we operated a lab-scale SBR under alternating anaerobic/anoxic conditions with high nitrite feed for >2 years. Ex-situ batch assays were performed to clarify capacity for reduction of various nitrogen oxides and P uptake of the DPAOs enrichment culture. These batch assays revealed distinct nitrogen oxides reduction and denitrifying P uptake capabilities. High-throughput 16S rRNA sequencing combined with qPCR assays revealed the selection of putative DPAOs and other potential denitrifying microbial consortia responsible for N2O accumulation under high nitrite-feeding regimes. This work presents an algorithm for automated real-time ramp detection using 3D point cloud data in the context of shared-control powered wheelchairs. Limitations in the interfaces available to those with severe motor impairments can make basic maneuvering tasks with powered wheelchairs difficult. Although a significant amount of work has been done on obstacle detection and avoidance, much less attention has been given to algorithms for the safe and reliable detection of ramps and inclines;even though navigating these structures is an important part of urban life. We provide an algorithmic solution for accurately detecting traversable inclines for applications with powered wheelchairs using the Point Cloud Library (PCL) within the robotics Operating System (ROS) framework. All algorithms are implemented first in simulation and later evaluated on data obtained from indoor and outdoor urban environments. We measure the performance of our algorithm with systematic testing on several different ramp structures, observed from varied viewpoints. Results show that our algorithm is successful in detecting the orientation, slope, and width of traversable ramps with up to 100% accuracy and an average detection accuracy of 88%.
