In this paper, we introduce a polar coded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing with code-frequency index modulation (PC-CFIM) scheme, designed to enhance spectral efficiency (SE) while improving error performance. At the transmitter, PC-CFIM divides the information bits into two subsets. One subset is utilized for selecting the spreading code index, and the other is utilized for polar coded OFDM with index modulation (PC-OFDM-IM). In the proposed PC-CFIM framework, the polar-coded sequence is spread using the indices from code domain index modulation. At the receiver, the system employs code index selection coupled with polar decoding to ensure accurate retrieval of information bits. The integration of polar code with hybrid index modulation significantly improves interference resilience, thereby reducing bit error rates (BER). Moreover, the transmission of additional bits via the spreading code index further enhances the system’s SE. Simulation results show that compared to the conventional PC-OFDM-IM, the proposed PC-CFIM significantly improves the BER performance with enhanced SE.

This article presents a novel distributed forward stimulated Brillouin scattering measurement scheme on polarization maintaining fiber (PM fiber) with a spatial resolution of 0.8 m named polarization separation assisted opto-mechanical time-domain analysis (PS-OMTDA). The activation pulse is injected into the fast axis and the probe pulse and probe wave is injected into the slow one, therefore, the acoustic wave is excited upon the fast axis but affected the probe wave on the slow axis. The backward Brillouin scattering of an activation pulse is effectively suppressed by isolating the acoustic activation and probing process. A spatial resolution of 80 cm is experimentally demonstrated over a PM fiber with a length of 34 m. © 2023 IEEE.

To address the problems of model degradation and low prediction accuracy in the of update procedure the rolling bearing life prediction model, the updating strategy of twin delayed deep deterministic policy gradient(TD3) is suggested to optimize the prediction model, and it applied to rolling bearing remaining useful life prediction. Continuous wavelet transform is used to build a dataset by converting the rolling bearing vibration data into two-dimensional time-frequency spectrum diagram. Deep reinforcement learning is introduced to design the elements of state, action, reward value and loss function, which are employed to training of the prediction model, this model is composed convolutional neural network (CNN) and bidirectional long short-term memory. The delayed update and soft update techniques of the TD3 algorithm are used to reduce the update frequency of the CNN feature network. A new loss function is proposed to establish a new model updating strategy for solving the prediction model degradation problem. The experimental study using the PHM2012 dataset and the finding indicate that, in comparison to the compared methodologies, the suggested prediction method with model optimization strategy can reduce the root mean square error and mean square error by more than 23.8% and 20.8% respectively, reducing the prediction error by at least 18.6% and improve the scores by more than 0.213.

In response to the requirements for efficiency and accuracy in segmentation models in autonomous driving scenarios, an improved urban road semantic segmentation algorithm based on the Deep Dual-Resolution Network (DDRNet) has been proposed. Firstly, a Channel Residual Attention Module (CRAM) based on standard attention mechanisms is introduced at the end of two parallel branches of the DDRNet to focus on important channel features. Secondly, the backbone network incorporates Depthwise Over-parameterized Convolution (DO-Conv) to boost feature extraction performance. Finally, a Deep Aggregation Pyramid Pooling Module (DAPPM) with Hybrid Dilated Convolution (HDC) is designed to capture multi-scale feature information, and Group Normalization (GN) is utilized to mitigate the impact of reduced batch size. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves a Mean Intersection over Union (MIoU) of 77.0% on the Cityscapes dataset, representing an improvement of 1.1% over the baseline model. Additionally, the segmentation speed reaches 106 Frames Per Second (FPS), achieving an optimal balance between segmentation accuracy and computational efficiency.

Limited reliability data during the development of cruise ship automation systems often leads to subjective weight allocation. This paper proposes an reliability allocation method based on the Bayesian best-worst method and analytic hierarchy process to address this challenge. By considering the system reliability indices, influencing factors, and units need to be allocated, a hierarchical model is established for reliability allocation based on the analytic hierarchy process. The Bayesian best-worst method compares elements in each layer, generating best and worst matrices based on decision-makers. These matrices determine optimal weights for each layer’s elements. The analytic hierarchy process determines relative importance weights among the system reliability index, influencing factors, and units. Consequently, the derived optimal weights are converted into allocation factors, which enable the allocation of reliability for cruise ship automation systems. This fusion-based approach presents a novel and effective method for optimizing reliability allocation during the development stage of complex systems.

Low earth orbit satellite communication systems are attractive for provisioning global, high-speed and low latency Internet access services. In order to achieve global continuous multiple coverage, the number of satellites is tremendous. But Low earth orbit satellite networks are prone to instability due to unpredictable link failures and frequent topology changes. Therefore, in this paper, a novel routing schemes with quick response to link failures is first proposed. Based on Dijkstra algorithm, a scalable routing algorithm is proposed to minimize the end-to-end transmission delay. It takes advantage of the predictable constellation trajectory, and changes dynamically according to the changes of network topology. It provides the shortest routing path and an alternative path simultaneously. When a link failure is detected by one satellite, notification packets will be sent to its neighbors for adjustment to the alternative routing path. Notification packets also will be sent to the head node for the recalculation of routing table. Finally, extensive simulations have been conducted, and the results show that the proposed scheme is able to produce desired performance. © 2022 IEEE.

The URLLC services have high stringent requirements for high reliability and low latency transmission. The TDM-PON based mobile edge computing (MEC) enabled cloud radio access network (CRAN) is an effective architecture to carry the URLLC services. However, how to ensure reliability and low latency requirements meanwhile decrease the deployment cost will be one of the major challenges in the network planning stage. A mathematical model and a heuristic algorithm are proposed to tackle such challenge towards demands of URLLC services. Simulation results suggest that proposed algorithm shows better performance in terms of low latency transmission than the benchmark algorithm, and achieves the near-optimal solution of MILP with an acceptable time complexity. Besides, impact of key parameters on comparison of different approaches in terms of total transmission latency consumption is also evaluated. © 2021 IEEE.

Large-scale satellite networks are a crucial component of future communication systems. However, they pose several challenges to satellite routing design and link recovery. This paper proposes an Adaptive Load Balancing routing algorithm for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Satellite Cluster Networks (ALBSCN) to meet the needs of large-scale Low Earth Orbit LEO satellite networks. The constellation is divided into clusters, with each cluster maintaining the intra-cluster link state by electing a cluster head. The cluster head computes intra-cluster and inter-cluster routes. Messages are forwarded using inter-cluster multipath routing and intra-cluster routing techniques. We validated the algorithm's performance and compared it with other algorithms in terms of packet delivery delay using simulation. Simulation results indicate that the proposed clustering routing scheme effectively reduced packet loss and end-to-end delay, while also increasing network throughput.

Time series anomaly detection aims to find specific patterns in time series that do not conform to general rules, which is one of the important research directions in machine learning. However, most existing time series anomaly detection methods solely consider the original observed state space. In this paper, we investigate the different views of the original signals by reconstructing them from the different transformations to learn better comprehensive representations of normal patterns. Specifically, we propose a time series anomaly detection model based on self-supervised multi-transformation learning while jointly learning the noise and filter transformation of the normal time series and capturing the anomaly simultaneously in both transformation patterns. Firstly, the model randomly adds noise to the original signal to construct the noisy signal, and the Kalman filter is applied to the original signal to construct the filtered signal. The noisy and filtered signals are subsequently used to reconstruct the original signal, and the randomly added noise is classified. Finally, the model captures the two transformation patterns of normal time series signals and transforms the anomaly detection problem into the reconstruction metric problem of time series signals under noise and filter transformations. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified on the UCR time series dataset. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Load Balancing Routing Algorithm for LEO Satellite Networks Based on Ant Colony Optimization

To address the problem of the unbalanced load and optimize the traffic distribution of large-scale low earth orbit (LEO) satellite networks, this paper proposes a load-balancing routing algorithm for LEO satellite networks based on ant colony optimization. The algorithm establishes the global optimal initial path through the improved ant colony algorithm to bypass the network bottleneck, makes local adjustments to cope with burst traffic changes to avoid congestion, and optimizes the "inferior" paths through regular rerouting to improve the overall network performance. The results show that the algorithm performs well in terms of packet loss rate, throughput, and load balancing, which can effectively alleviate the link utilization imbalance problem and provide a more stable and efficient service for the satellite network. Among them, the packet loss rate is reduced by 7.8%, and the load distribution index is improved by 30%. © 2025 The Author(s). Internet technology Letters published by John Wiley & Sons Ltd.
