A flat wheel is a kind of wheel damage occurring when the train wheels are dragged along the rail as the axle wheel's rotation stops. The wheels will skid when the brake block force is greater than the train force. The equation for the wheel skid is (Fbrake > Ftrain), this applies when the wheels stop rotating, but the train still moves so that a flat spotmay appear. This study finds that the electric trains from the JR 205 seriesthat has many flat spots on its wheels are the M trains (70%). It also reveals that the percentage of the brake block pressure in the unloaded KRL is 130.4%. Provided that ɳ>ɳmax (100%), this condition does not meet the standard of the International Union of Railway or Union Internationale des Chemis de Fer (UIC). If the percentage of the brake block pressure (ɳ) exceeds 100%, the braking force will be greater than that of the axle load and this causes the skid. To overcome this condition, rechecking the braking force and providing additional equipment are needed to assure that the air pressure is controlled.

High performance polysulfone (PSf) membrane has been prepared for treating of batik palembang wastewater. Many investigations attempted the use of polysulfone (PSf) membranes to filtrate dilute contaminant in textile wastewater. The matrix membrane is a mixture of PSf which is produced by adding inorganic materials to obtain a polymer that functions to manufacture the membrane by increasing hydrophilicity and impurity resistance. MMM were fabricated from a dope solution containing PSf/LiCl/DMF at different additives composition. Antifouling properties of membranes could be enhance with 0.0 - 10 wt.% LiCl that has been added into dope solution. Pure water permeation flux analysis (PWP), AFM and FESEM. From the results of research on FESEM, the PSf / LiCL membrane showed a fairly symmetrical cross-sectional structure containing two layers. The layers of the tiny finger-like structure on the edge of the perforated fibers and the holes like the larger fingers are mixed with the macrovoid layer in the middle section. PWP flux is not proportional to mean rough outer surface but higher water permeation. Therefore, PSf/LiCl exhibited a better performance that resulted a much lower fouling tendency than the naked membrane in batik Palembang wastewater treatment.

This study aims to design the control system of an electronic device using voice identification-based smartphones generating electronic device control system. It optimizes the smartphone functions as a mobile phone than as a means of communication. The method used using the technique of direct observation by observing the success of the software AMR voice in identifying sound. In this design process smartphone as a sound receiver module, arduino as a controller, Bluetooth module as the sender and recipient of the data, and the relay as a contact breaker and connecting the electric current, as the output of LCD used to display information on whether the results of voice identification is correct or incorrect. Research tools electronic control device can control electronic devices such as fans, lamps and others depending on what is to be controlled. From the test results it can be concluded that the system control electronic devices by using voice identification-based smartphone that has been designed is divided into several parts, namely the Bluetooth module HC-05, arduino uno, relays and software AMR voice as a controller that has been tested to work and function properly.

This study aimed at investigating the maintenance management of welding engineering workshops and factors affecting the damage of welding equipment in vocational high schools located in Special Region of Yogyakarta. The study employed quantitative descriptivedesign. It was conducted at vocational high schools SMKN 1 Sedayu, SMKN 2 Pengasih, SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Wates, and SMKN 1 Pundong. The respondents were heads of workshops, teachers of welding engineering subject, workshop technicians, and students. The data were collected through survey, observation, and interview. The quantitative descriptive technique was employed to analyze the collected data. The results of the study show that the maintenance management of welding engineering workshops in some VHS in Yogyakarta is Very Gooddespitesome problemsin the maintenance procedure. The factors causing the equipment damage are the unscheduled maintenance procedure, absence of inventory lists, lack of technicians, improper use of workshop equipment, and the limited amount of maintenance budget.

The study aims to describe (1) the development stages of the manual arc welding job sheet and (2) its validity. It is a Research and Development (R & D) of which the data were collected by means of non-test instruments, namely the closed-ended questionnaires with the 5-scale responses. The data were collected from the three research participants acting as the material and media experts,namely two lecturers in the mechanicalengineering Education studyprogram, Faculty of engineering (FE), Yogyakarta State University (YSU), and a teacher of the Basic Welding Technique subject. The job sheet development stages were adapted from Thiagarajan's model, namely the Four-D model covering the definition, design, development, and dissemination. Data were analyzed quantitatively by means of the descriptive statistics. The results of the material evaluation by the material expert I prove that the job sheet is categorized as Appropriate (with the total score of 145 or 82.9%) and Very Appropriate based on the material expert II with the total score of 153 (87.4%). Besides, in terms of the media, the job sheet is Appropriate based on the media expert I (with the total score of 207 or 82.8%) and Very Appropriate based on the media expert II (with the total score of 215 or 84.4%).

The loads tested were 105 tons, 125 tons, 150 tons and 180 tonsThe tool not only experiences vertical tensile load but also experiences horizontal load due to acceleration or deceleration of the overhead crane. To prevent fracture due to fatigue, the lifting spreader needs to be analyzed its service life. Obtained data of mass transformers per year and construction specification will be dynamically analyzed using SAP2000 software to gain informationmaximum and minimum stress from each of its shell nodes. Data Collectionof stress will be processed through the S-N Curve mechanism and Palmsgren Miner rules to determine the cyclic load of the fatigue life plate of spreader. This analysis found that maximum capacity 180 tons value Sf above from endurance limit state. And the assessmentdecline fatigue life of the lifting spreader based data within 45 years. The researcher recommends a decrease in the value of the capacity till to 10 percent for things that are not expected that result in a decrease in the quality of construction.

Hot water storage tank that was made from stainless still was investigated in this case. The tank was found failure in service due to corrosion in welded section. Corrosion also was found at the bottom part of the storage tank. The tank was used for no longer than one year but unfortunately severe corrosion was found. The purpose of this research is to find the reason why the tank easily corroded especially at the bottom part and at the welding section. The research was carried out by conducting metallographic examination directly in situ by utilizing portable metallographic microscope. It is found from investigation that the corrosion was happen due to galvanic corrosion. Investigation by using X ray fluorescence also agree that the composition of the bottom part of the tank was different with the wall, and upper section. The welding filler also was found not correctly prepared that make pitting corrosion to occur. It is suggested to conduct advance research to investigate the correct composition for the filler during welding.

This paper discusses the development of new products of Micro, Small and Medium Entreprises (SMEs) to identify what attributes are considered by consumers, as well as combinations of attributes that need to be analyzed into the main preferences of consumers. The purpose of this research is to increase the added value and competitiveness of SMEs through product innovation. The object of this study is banana chips produced by SMEs from the province of Lampung which it considered to be unique souvenirs of the province. The research data were collected by distributing questionnaires in Jakarta which has heterogeneous population, in order to develop banana chip’s marketing and increase its market share in Indonesia. Data processing was performed using conjoint analysis and cluster analysis. Segmentation was performed using conjoint analysis based on the importance level of attributes and part-worth of level attributes of each cluster. Finally, characteristics and consumer preferences of each cluster will be a consideration in determining the product development and marketing strategies.
