This paper presents an overview of the Hysteresis Current Controller (HCC) application in Renewable Energy Based Power System. The beginning concept of HCC is considered to be formally introduced by Thomas M. Freederiksen and Ronald W. Russel in 1971 that was registered in US Patent No. US3725673. The fundamental principle of HCC is based on the comparison of the instantaneous load current to the instantaneous sine wave reference where the difference between the two is maintained within the defined upper and lower band. There are some advantages of using HCC including simple, insensitivity to load parameters variations, fast dynamic response and inherent maximum current limiting characteristics. Therefore, based on its robustness, HCC has currently applied also in renewable energy based power plants such as PV converter system, Power Electronics System of Wind Energy, and in SMES control system for Wind Energy Application. However, the drawback of HCC system was also discussed in some papers compared with other control systems, for instant HCC is giving high chattering in torque in IM drive test. Therefore the combination of HCC with other controllers also becomes a new trend to improve the applied system that involving HCC as the main controller. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Non-condensable gas (NCG) is a part of geothermal fluid that affects geothermal power plant performance. Two scenarios were proposed to extract NCG out of condenser;i.e two-stage steam jet ejector (SJE) intercondenser plus one-stage SJE after condenser (three-stage SJE) and hybrid (combination of two-stage SJE intercondenser and vacuum pump). Both scenarios were optimized by the installation of Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) to hot well pump and cooling tower fan, respectively. Each scenario was analyzed to the wet bulb temperature (WBT) fluctuation. This study modeled the data of Darajat Geothermal Power Plant unit III on load 100% (110 MW) and computed it using engineering Equation Solver commercial version 9.430. The consideration of both scenarios was analyzed by Specific Steam Consumption net. The result of this study indicated that hybrid system can save 1.11% energy compared with three-stage SJE. It is also found that hybrid system had a possibility to optimize by VFD installation when WBT in 15.5 °C up to 19.5 °C. The highest energy saving was obtained 1.03% compared to constant L/G, on WBT 19.5 °C, where L/G denotes the ratio of inlet water mass flow rate to cooling air inside cooling tower. © 2017 IEEE.

This research aims to: (1) producing android-based Electronic Fuel Injections (EFI) learning media;(2) knowing the feasibility of android-based EFI learning media;and (3) knowing students' responses to the learning media of the Android-based Electronic Fuel Injections (EFI) system. The rsearch was conducted using the Borg and Gall model modified by Sugiyono. The technique of data collection is done by questionnaire, while the data analysis technique uses descriptive quantitative methods. The results of the research were obtained: (1) products in the form of Android-based Electronic Fuel Injections (EFI) system learning media;(2) learning media in terms of material included in the very feasible category and in terms of media included in the very feasible category;and (3) students' responses when testing the product, the aspects of use are included in the category very easily and the aspects of usefulness are included in the category of very useful. The demand for a high-efficiency lamp results in the development of different kinds of lighting sources, such as LED panels, and fluorescent lights. Those inventions provide high illumination with less heat, in comparison than incandescent lamps. However, the specifications (by manufacturers) are not always shown on the product packaging, or might be slightly different, a little bit higher or lower compared to the characteristics of the lighting sources. In this paper, the research group utilizes an integrating sphere system, one of the most well known experiment-based methods, by using an all-in-one integrating sphere system from the Lisun Group to characterize different kinds of lamps. From the experimental result, various parameters, such as power consumption, luminous efficacy, luminous flux, correlated color temperature, and color rendering index will be compared with the information on the packaging. This will enable some insightful conclusions on the integrating sphere technique to be drawn. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

This paper aims to reveal the characteristics of thermal energy release in a solar water heater (SWH) tank involving phase change materials (PCM) as thermal energy storage material. A bundle of cylindrical capsules was inserted in 31.37 liters of SWH tank. The capsule contains paraffin wax as latent type heat storage. K type thermocouples were mounted on the water side and the PCM side. Experiments was begun with the charging process using solar energy until water temperature exceeds the melting temperature of PCM. After that, a gradual discharging process is done to release the thermal energy from the tank. The SWH tank containing 17.3 liters of water can produce 60 liters of hot water with an average water temperature of 45.13 °. This condition is achieved when the average daily radiation intensity is 699.92 W/m2. The PCM has contributed in storing thermal energy during the discharging process. © 2018 IEEE.

This study observed the effect of bed material in the pyrolysis process. Also, other parameter such as the heating rate have been observed. The biomass studied is Sunan Candlenut cake. This biomass is a potential commodity as a producer of biodiesel. Through the method of mechanical press and esterification, it will leave waste in the form of a cake that still contains crude oil. Trapped oil can be converted into bio-oil through the pyrolysis technique. Parameters that affect the pyrolysis process include the addition of bed material and heating rate. Pyrolysis of this candlenut cake has been tested to determine the amount of activation energy. Heating rates are varied to 5, 10 and 20 K per minute and bed material used is iron sand. The testing instruments uses Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). The results show that the lowest activation energy of 15.497 [KJ/mol] is achieved when added iron sand at the heating rate of 10 K per minute. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Pico scale Turgo turbine (PSTT) is proper as a power plant to be applied for remote areas because of its simple construction, cheap investment cost, and good performance above 35%. However, the design of PSTT is still based on estimation because the wheel diameter and nozzle diameter (D/d) ratio are not yet in reasonable agreement. Furthermore, the literature on D/d affects PSTT performance has not been comprehensive. Accordingly, this study investigates the relation of D/d on PSTT performance and its effect on the U/Vjet. Based on experimental results, the relation of D/d and U/Vjet to PSTT performance is parabolic (expressed by polynomial quadratic);the maximum configuration of D/d of 22, and U/Vjet between 0.42 to 0.47. © 2022, Turbomachinery Society of Japan. The use of intelligent technology has been widely applied to vehicles. ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) is one of the smart features embedded in vehicles, generally directed to assist in driving a vehicle and for safety, such as braking. The development of ADAS is the first step toward an autonomous vehicle system. The braking system currently relies on several detectors, namely Radar, LiDAR, and cameras. The current use of ADAS usually uses a radar system or the integration of radar and cameras. This article aims to analyze the impact of using ADAS in braking assistance with the help of a stereo camera as the object detector to know how much influence intelligent systems for ADAS in driving. Several speeds are compared to see the vehicle's response and the effect of the applied speed with the camera properly. The results show that the speed response can be increased by 0.3 seconds to reduce the delay in the driver's awareness response to identify the object in front of him. Furthermore, the use of a camera-based system as a tool in ADAS in this study can be used for medium speeds of about 50 km/hour. © 2022 IEEE.

In the field of health, ceramics are used for the repair, reconstruction and replacement of the teeth and bones and the body tissue, which is now very possible to be developed into bio-ceramics. Bio-ceramic materials can be used for the manufacture of artificial teeth, wherein this material consists of kaolin, quartz, feldspar, and eggshell. The use of eggshells as an added ingredient and reinforcement in the artificial teeth has been studied and reviewed in some literatures, but they report the effect of temperature on the burning of egg shells is still lacking. This paper investigates the effect of eggshell burning temperature on the mechanical properties of artificial teeth. Vocational high school is a secondary education that prepares students to work in a particular field in the industry. The problem that occurred was the lack of skilled teachers. The suitable solution to improve teachers' skill was by internship. This paper discussed teachers' internship design in vocational education and aimed to enhance the learners' employability skills.
