With the advancement of semiconductor technologies, the need for efficient power management solutions in integrated systems, such as RISC-V architecture-based microcontrollers, becomes increasingly critical. However, there is a lack of studies comparing current reference architectures in terms of performance and robustness, particularly in 22nm technologies. In this paper, we present a comparative analysis of two current reference designs implemented in the same technology-referred to as Reference Design A and Reference Design B. We focus on their approaches to thermal compensation, supply stability, and layout optimizations. Through simulations and experimental tests, we evaluate the performance of each design within a power management system that includes DC-DC converters and LDO regulators. Our results indicate that Design A exhibits superior power supply rejection with a PSRR of -85 dB, while Design B demonstrates enhanced energy efficiency and thermal stability, achieving a nominal current of 5.14 μA and a temperature coefficient of 16.21 ppm. These findings underscore the importance of balancing energy efficiency, thermal stability, and power supply variation rejection when selecting current references for low-power, high-reliability applications, such as those in the Internet of Things (IoT). © 2025 IEEE.

The demand for efficient power management solutions in electronic devices has increased significantly, especially for microcontrollers operating in low-power modes. This article presents the design and implementation of a Pulse Frequency Modulation (PFM)-based buck converter for applications in 32-bit microcontrollers using 22nm CMOS technology. The methodology involves the development of a Constant On Time (COT) architecture that maintains a fixed duration for the activation of the high-side MOSFET, using a monostable multivibrator to generate the necessary timing signals. The converter's performance was simulated under various load conditions and process corners to evaluate its efficiency and output characteristics. The results show that the proposed buck converter achieves high efficiency, with peak values above 95%, while maintaining a low output ripple. Specifically, the converter exhibits an efficiency of 93.4% at a load of 1mA, with output ripple voltages as low as 2.20 mV under ideal conditions. The contributions of this work lie in the advancement of PFM converter technology for modern microcontroller applications, demonstrating the potential of 22nm CMOS processes to improve power efficiency and performance.

This study explores the impact of halal labels on the purchase interest of foreign Muslim consumers in Taiwan, focusing on packaged ice cream. A total of 92 respondents from 11 different nationalities participated in the survey, providing insights into how halal certification influences consumer behavior in a non-Muslim majority country. This research discusses the application of the hyperbolic tangent model for an outer bypass MR damper with a meandering valve, which was developed by one of the authors. The hyperbolic tangent model consists of six parameters. In this study, parameter reduction was carried out using local and global sensitivity analysis, and a parameter identification strategy based on Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) was employed. The objective function is the relative error between the model's force and the force obtained from experiments with an outer bypass MR damper prototype featuring a meandering valve. The sensitivity analysis identifies an optimal hyperbolic tangent model with two sensitive parameters, while the remaining parameters are determined to be constant. The results show an improvement in accuracy, with the optimal hyperbolic tangent model reducing the error from 8.06 % to 7.1 %. This indicates that the optimal hyperbolic tangent model can be obtained by applying the sensitivity analysis method developed in this research.

This paper introduces a novel approach to combating the spread of Dengue and Chikungunya, two prevalent arboviruses in tropical regions, especially in Brazil. The research presents a low-cost differential topology robot designed as an educational tool to raise awareness about mosquito breeding grounds among students and teachers in public schools across the Federal District, Brazil. Developed at the University of Brasilia, the robot is deployed in collaboration with the Federal District Health Department to support prevention campaigns in schools. The paper evaluates the effectiveness of this innovative tool in enhancing community engagement and improving health outcomes. The findings suggest that integrating robotics into health education can significantly elevate awareness and strengthen prevention strategies against arboviral diseases.

A multi-scale analysis of elasto-plastic deformation and dislocation movement and accumulation of tricrystalline models during cyclic deformation was performed. The accumulation of dislocations in geometrically necessary dislocations (GNDs) and statistically stored dislocations (SSDs) was investigated in detail. Experimental observations have shown that fatigue life and fatigue crack propagation are also deteriorated when the material is subjected to overload or underload. However, in the microscopic and mesoscopic regions, where the effects of the crack tip shape change are not related to the size of the crack tip, a different phenomenon is essentially occurring. In this paper, the effects of overload and underload are investigated using a simple model without a crack. From the analysis results, it was found that the dislocation structure generated in the material subjected to overload or underload affects the subsequent deformation behavior. However, even though the absolute values are the same, the effects of overloading and underloading on the subsequent deformation are different, and underloading increases the non-uniformity of the subsequent deformation, which is on the dangerous side, while overloading decreases with increasing the number of repetitions. ©2022 The Society of Materials Science, Japan

This work is done to investigate and assess the beneficial role and added value of employing a thin layer of nano-ceramic coating to protect the components of a centrifugal pump. A case study is considered, representing a centrifugal pump operating in the Arab Potash Company (APC). The ANSYS software package was used which implements numerical finite element analysis (FEA), 3D modeling, and mathematical simulations. Variables, including Von Mises stresses, deformations, and strains, were investigated associated with a number of situations related to the operation of corrosive potash salt and coating layer. Based on the numerical analysis, the research results revealed that employing a thin layer of ceramic coating protective layer could minimize the dynamic Von Mises strength's impact on the centrifugal pump's impeller and casing by 35.55%. Furthermore, it was found that utilizing a protective layer of thin-nano ceramic could alleviate the total deformations of the centrifugal pump's impeller and casing by 67.01%. It was found that using a protective layer of the thin nano-ceramic could mitigate the equivalent elastic strain on the centrifugal pump's impeller and casing by 90.14%. It was noted that maximum total deformations occur at the tip of the blades. Coating the centrifugal pump parts could improve its components' lifespan by reducing wear, corrosion, and abrasion rates. © 2024 IEEE.

Geotourism is rapidly experiencing rapid growth in developing countries, such as Indonesia, and it is a component of sustainable tourism. In addition, the country has many areas of geodiversity in cities or towns that potentially can become urban geotourism destinations, such as the Bandung Basin area. This region is characterized by geological features, including young volcanic rocks surrounding the mountains, alluvial fans, and lake deposits at lower elevations extending from Rancaekek to the base of Mount Lagadar in the western part of the area. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the respective roles of stakeholders in urban geotourism development. The study used literature review and interview methodology, where data was interpreted with stakeholder analysis, and complemented by descriptive analysis. The results showed that stakeholders were divided into primary (quadrant 1), key (quadrant 2), and secondary (quadrant 3) categories, each with distinct interests and degree of influence. As urban tourism expands, it presents ongoing opportunities to cultivate sustainable practices within these locales. The establishment of urban geotourism necessitates the identification and evaluation of engaged stakeholders. The subsequent planning and management initiatives for the Bandung Basin area can be enhanced through the active participation of stakeholders. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

This paper proposes a method to estimate the posture of an athlete moving on a vast field in a sporting event using a pan-tilt-zoom camera. In order to estimate the posture of an athlete on a sports field from a dynamic video sequence, our method extracts image features to search correspondence points among successive frames and computes the homography transformation matrix that compensates for changes the camera parameters (e.g., angle of view and posture). The effectiveness of this method is qualitatively verified using MLB TV broadcast video. The accuracy and error factors are also quantitatively verified by CG simulation.
