We study the effects of ion-dust collisions and ion kinematic viscosities on the linear ion-acoustic instability as well as the nonlinear propagation of small-amplitude solitary waves and shocks (SWS) in a negative-ion plasma with immobile charged dusts. The existence of two linear ion modes, namely the “fast” and “slow” waves, is shown, and their properties are analyzed in the collisional negative-ion plasma. Using the standard reductive perturbation technique, we derive a modified Korteweg-de Vries-Burger (KdVB) equation which describes the evolution of small-amplitude SWS. The profiles of the latter are numerically examined with parameters relevant for laboratory and space plasmas where charged dusts may be positively or negatively charged. It is found that negative-ion plasmas containing positively charged dusts support the propagation of SWS with negative potential. However, the perturbations with both positive and negative potentials may exist when dusts are negatively charged. The results may be useful for the excitation of SWS in laboratory negative-ion plasmas as well as for observation in space plasmas where charged dusts may be positively or negatively charged.

Vegetable oil form in Natural Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME) has their own advantages: first of all they are available everywhere in the world. Secondly, they are renewable as the vegetables which produce oil seeds can be planted year after year. Thirdly, they are friendly with our environment, as they seldom contain sulphur element in them. This makes vegetable fuel studies become current among the various popular investigations. This study is attempt to optimization of using blend FAME on diesel engine by experimental laboratory. The investigation experimental project is comparison between using blend FAME and base diesel fuel. The engine experiment is conducted with YANMAR TF120M single cylinder four stroke diesel engine set-up at variable engine speed with constant load. The data have been taken at each point of engine speed during the stabilized engine-operating regime. Measurement of emissions parameters at difference engine speed conditions have generally indicated lower in emission NOx, but slightly higher on CO2 emission. The result also shown that the blends FAME are good in fuel consumption and potentially good substitute fuels for diesel engine

Application of Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage unit with Hysteresis Current Control-Fuzzy Logic to improve the performance of Wind Turbine Generator-Grid connected during short circuit is presented. Five 2 MW Type D-Wind Turbine Generator connected to a grid is simulated using SIMULINK/MATLAB program. The Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage unit consists of a Voltage Source Converter and DC-DC Chopper that are controlled by Hysteresis Current Control and Fuzzy Logic Controller respectively. Simulation results show that the proposed control algorithm of Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage unit is effective in saving some MWs of Type D-Wind Turbine Generator production during occurrence of short circuit in the line.
