In today’s complex global environments, it is highly challenging to achieve effective healthcare management. The critical challenges faced by healthcare management are being met by the revolution of m-health where mobile cloud computing plays a major role. The taxonomy of mobile computing comprises operational aspects, end-user issues, and service quality and mobility management. The use of smartphone technologies and applications has become a highly significant approach to improving healthcare management. Mobile health services such as mobile pathology, mobile neurosurgery, cancer treatment, and behavioral/psychological disorders are gaining significance where smartphone applications are being used. Portability, flexibility, and convenience are major characteristics of mobile computing that have helped patients and doctors to develop better relationships through coordination and communication. The relationship between smartphone technologies and applications and healthcare management can be understood in several broad aspects. This article aims to analyze the current and future implications of these technologies on healthcare and disease management systems.

The utilisation of cooling systems based on phase change materials has experienced a surge in popularity due to their ability to effectively reduce the temperature of photovoltaic (PV) modules. Phase change materials (PCMs) have been widely recognised as a highly efficient medium for thermal energy storage due to their ability to harness latent heat capacity. The low thermal conductivity of the material has been identified in many studies. In the current investigation, we have blended PCM with nanoparticles to enhance its thermal conductivity and electrical efficiency. We produce nanoparticle composited phase change materials (nc-PCMs) by combining lauric acid (LA) with three different nanoparticles: aluminum oxide (Al2O3), copper oxide (CuO), and magnesium oxide (MgO), in an optimal weight proportion of 94: 6. Lauric acid and these nanoparticles are chosen based on their ability to provide a significantly lower cost compared to commercial nanoparticles. Research has demonstrated that the incorporation of nanoparticles increases thermal conductivity, resulting in a decrease in the PV module's temperature. The findings indicate that a combination of LA and MgO in a proportion of 94: 6 constitutes the optimal nc-PCM. This composition demonstrated a 5.2 °C reduction in PV module temperature, which resulted in a notable enhancement in the average electrical efficiency of 14.11%. Furthermore, the power output increased significantly to 14.18%. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This study examines Instagram influencers' social media behavior and providing suggestions for increasing engagement and purchase intentions towards endorsed products via post-effectiveness. Several objectives will be raised in this study: (1) determining the effect of content vividness on social media engagement, (2) determining the impact of social media engagement on purchase intentions, (3) determining the effect of content vividness on purchase intentions. This quantitative study utilizes Partial Least Square (PLS) software as a tool to test validity and reliability and SPSS to test the hypothesis and regression model. With the total of 199 valid respondents participating into this study's survey, the result highlights the positive effects of content vividness in enhancing purchase intentions through mediating variable, namely social media engagement. © 2023 IEEE.

Crack often affects structural deformation nonlinearly, leading to difficulty detecting their existence using some Structural Health Monitoring methods. In this paper, we propose a damage index derived from the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. Furthermore, we evaluate the method's ability to detect the crack when the specimen is subjected to an impact load. To assess the proposed damage index, we consider a beam specimen containing a lateral crack. The beam has a length of 300 mm and a square-shaped cross-sectional area of 20 mm × 20 mm. The beam is made of steel, is constrained at one end, and is subjected to an impact load at the other end. The beam lateral displacement at many observation points across the beam-free surface is recorded during the beam dynamics. The records are used to compute the proposed damage index. The results suggest that the index only detects the crack when the beam deformation is affected by the crack. When the crack face is suppressed to bear the compressive stress, the resulting deformation is not much different from that of the uncracked beam. In that condition, the proposed index is not able to indicate the existing crack. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This paper aims to explain the process of developing creative strategies for empowering community capabilities and local resources in managing geotourism in the Ijen Geopark development area of the Bondowoso region. The location is in the Ijen District as a depiction area for developing the Ijen Geopark. The perspective used in this study is a resource-based view with valuable, rare, imitable, non-substitutable (VRIN) analysis to identify the effectiveness of the performance of local geotourism resources. The results showed that the daily management of geoparks has collaborated with institutions in rural areas in building sustainable competitive advantages to manage geotourism oriented to VRIN criteria in the delineation area of the development of the Ijen Geopark. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.

Proportional, integral, and derivative (PID) controllers have been widely adopted for industrial applications. However, these controllers are not very efficient for non-linear systems. Artificial neural networks (ANN) based on the Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) have great potential to replace PID controllers due to their polynomial structure, allowing complex non-linear systems to be controlled. This article introduces the integration of four MLPs as alternatives to a traditional PID controller. These MLPs were trained through four bioinspired algorithms tailored for following tasks in mobile robots. The bioinspired algorithms employed for MLP network training include Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Grey Wolf Optimization (GWO), Month-Flame Optimization (MFO), and Artificial Hummingbird Algorithm (AHA). A comparative analysis was conducted between these MLPs and a classic PID controller, focusing on parameters such as overshoot (OS), settling time (ST), and steady-state error for different simulated scenarios.

Waste generation from food manufacturing facilities poses a serious hazard like environmental degradation, water pollution, and land pollution due to its high nutrient composition. Specifically, solid waste(powder) disposal requires additional energy sources in terms of scientific treatment, structured collection, and disposal packaging according to the safety regulation. Thus, this research discusses the viewpoint of integrating food processing waste as an organic carbon source with BG-11 medium for Chlorella vulgaris(FSP-E) growth. The food processing waste powders investigated in this study were obtained from milk, and biscuit manufacturing facilities. The culture medium was modified by combining both BG-11 and food processing waste powders to identify the optimal algal growth and biochemical *** to the microalgae grown in BG-11 alone(IBG), the combination of biscuit waste and IBG produced higher biomass concentration(44%), with increased lipid(11%), protein(20%), and carbohydrate(57%) contents. Chlorella vulgaris was able to uptake nutrients from the culture medium with combination of food processing waste and IBG thus enhancing its growth. The results obtained also indicate that an integrated culture system using food processing waste and synthetic sources can generate energy out of waste by improving the bio-composition of the microalgae biomass.

Artificial neural networks (ANN) based on the Group Method of Data Handling (GMDH) have great potential to replace the PID controllers due to their polynomial structure, allowing complex non-linear systems to be controlled. This work presents a hardware architecture of a GMDH network applied to speed control of a mobile robot platform. The proposed GMDH controller was implemented using a 16-bit floating-point arithmetic representation and was mapped on a Zynq7020 device. A hardware-in-the-loop based on the Universal Direct Memory Access methodology was developed to validate the proposed circuits, allowing for performance comparisons between a classical PID and the GMDH controllers for different simulated scenarios.

In this paper, focus is placed on "lightweight and fine powders" which have small particle size and bulk density and exhibit unique sound absorption characteristics at low frequencies due to longitudinal vibration of powder particles. Theoretical analysis of the sound absorption coefficient of powder layers requires the peak frequency of sound absorption measured experimentally. In this study, we clarified the relationship between powder properties and sound absorption characteristics, and predicted the sound absorption coefficient of the powder layer from the experimental equation based on the accumulated data. This made it possible to classify powders in which sound absorption due to longitudinal vibration occurs based on the relationship between the "areal density per particle layer," which is indicated by "particle size multiplied by bulk density," and the peak sound absorption value. Moreover, from the plot of "areal density per particle layer" and "first-order sound absorption peak frequency from experiment," the experimental formula for the first-order sound absorption peak frequency was regressively obtained. By using the experimental equation obtained in this study, it was possible to show how to estimate the sound absorption coefficient from the properties of each powder alone. © 2022 Internoise 2022 - 51st International Congress and Exposition on Noise Control engineering. Currently, many patients visit hospitals to check for bodily abnormalities, prompting hospitals to operate blood specimen analyzers (Cobas-8000) in laboratories to accommodate blood samples at all times. However, the number of patients is not consistently high, leading to inefficient usage of the chemical analysis machines. This research presents energy management for the Cobas-8000 model C702 blood specimen analyzer by scheduling the machine's operation to match the volume of blood samples, thereby reducing operational costs. These costs include electricity usage and the depreciation of the analyzer equipment. The research categorizes conditions based on the number of blood tests sent for analysis and the operational status of the analyzer, which includes Full Operation Mode, Standby Mode, and Off Mode, considering two situations before and after implementing the proposed method. Previously, the results indicate that the energy consumption of the blood specimen analyzer does not correspond to the volume of blood samples, resulting in unnecessary depreciation costs. By introducing the proposed scheduling, divided into six case studies, it is demonstrated that energy consumption and equipment depreciation can be significantly reduced, achieving a total cost reduction of 47.95%-59.71 % per year compared to the existing continuous full operation mode.
