Photocatalytic degradation is a promising way to treat emerging pollutants in wastewater. Recently, metal-free photocatalysts such as carbon nitride- and graphene-based materials have attracted much interest in the photocatalytic degradation of emerging water pollutants owing to their visible light activity and unique electrical properties, respectively. Graphitic carbon nitride (GCN) is considered a superior visible light–active photocatalyst because of its suitable bandgap (2.7 eV). Moreover, the facile synthesis process and the high chemical and thermal stability of GCN make it one of the research hotspots in photocatalytic wastewater treatment. Besides GCN, graphene and its derivatives are utilized to support main photocatalysts by enhancing their light absorption, pollutant adsorption, and photogenerated charge separation. Furthermore, the vast modification of these materials has promoted various outstanding performances in carbon nitride- and graphene-based photocatalysts in the application of pollutant degradation. In this review, we highlight recent developments in carbon nitride- and graphene-based photocatalysts (2018–2023), focusing on the strategies to improve the activity of GCN as a visible light–active photocatalyst and the role of graphene and its derivatives as supporting materials in wastewater pollutant remediation applications.

This study investigates the impact of feature selection results using the filter method on the performance of predictive models for the nutritional status of children aged 0-23 months. This study aimed to understand how correlation-based feature selection methods affect the efficiency and accuracy of predictive models. The dataset comes from the Basic Health Research survey, which consists of 84 variables and around 130,000 data, including anthropometric, family, socioeconomic, and environmental information. In this study, various filter-based feature selection methods were applied to evaluate and identify features that have significant relationships with children’s nutritional status, both linearly and non-linearly. The mutual information method was used to identify complex relationships between features and target variables, while the Pearson Correlation Coefficient and information gain were used to assess the relevance of numerical and categorical features. Of the 84 variables in the dataset, 37 features were selected after the selection process. The model performance evaluation was carried out using the Random Forest (RF) and Gradient Boosting (GB) algorithms, by comparing the results between the dataset that had been selected and without feature selection. The RF model without feature selection produces accuracy: 0,84600, precision: 0,83958, recall: 0,84600, F1-score: 0,78962, and a computation time of 9 seconds. The GB model without feature selection produces accuracy: 0,86330, precision: 0,84722, recall: 0,86330, F1-score: 0,84925, and a computation time of 2 minutes 50 seconds. After feature selection and cross-validation, the RF model shows accuracy: 0,85701, precision: 0,83599, recall: 0,85701, and F1 score: 0,83484. The GB model shows accuracy at 0,86124, precision at 0,84226, recall at 0,86130, and F1 score at 0,84120.

Objectives: Ultraviolet (UV) exposure can hasten the aging process of the skin. The use of chemicals for anti-aging has long-term adverse effects. The natural ingredients of snake fruit (Salacca zalacca L.) are known to have bioactive properties such as polyphenols, flavonoids, chlorogenic acid, and caffeic acid which have antiaging potential. The study aims to ascertain the potential of S. zalacca Extract (SZE) as an antiaging agent by in vitro assay. Methods: The SZE compound content was analyzed by LC-MS/MS. SZE viability test on human skin fibroblast (BJ) cells was carried out using the WST assay. BJ cells were UV-induced as a cell model of premature aging. SZE 6.25, 12.5, and 25 μg/mL were administered to UV-induced BJ cells. The gene expression of COL1A1, MMP-1, FGF-2, and GPX-1 were analyzed by quantitative Real-Time PCR. Elastin (ELN), Hyaluronidase (HAse), Cyclooxigenase-2 (COX-2), 8-Hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OHdG), and Melatonin (MT) protein levels were analyzed by ELISA assay. The apoptosis of BJ cells was analyzed using flow cytometry. One-way ANOVA in SPSS Software was used for statistical analysis. Results: Treatment with SZE increased COL1A1, FGF-2, and GPX-1 gene expression and also decreased MMP-1 gene expression. SZE also increased ELN and MT levels in UV-induced BJ cells. After SZE treatment, the protein levels of HAse, COX-2, and 8-OHdG decreased compared to the positive control. SZE also succeeded in maintaining the lives of BJ cells and reducing apoptosis in BJ cells. Conclusions: SZE has the potential to be an antiaging agent by in vitro assay. © 2025 The Authors

In this work, a sliding detection algorithm was proposed for a previously developed robotic hand through the utilization of force sensors. Previous works have designed several hardware architectures to filter sensor data, implement dynamic control, and machine learning models for controlling the robotic fingers using a single Field programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) chip. In this regard, the slip detection algorithm was developed to comprise three stages, each with a low computational cost, including a moving average filter, a first-order derivative, and a peak detection algorithm. A reference model was constructed and validated through an experimental protocol employing daily use objects to create a database. Subsequently, the slip detection algorithm was mapped onto hardware utilizing previously developed floating-point arithmetic IP cores and implemented using a Zynq 7020 device. The FPGA implementation was characterized in terms of resource occupation, power consumption, execution time, and numerical error with the reference model.

Technological advancements are increasingly evident across various sectors, including automobiles, industry, and healthcare. In precision agriculture, significant progress has been made, with AgroTICs and Smart Agriculture gaining substantial traction in the market. However, a gap remains between cutting-edge technology and family farming, presenting a challenge from both social and applied research perspectives. However, there is still a gap between cutting-edge technology and family farming, which creates a challenge from a social and applied research point of view. In this context, this paper proposes a monitoring model based on Fuzzy Logic and sensor automation applied to estimate the health of a corn crop. The proposed Fuzzy inference system involves calculating an indicator of nutrients as well as the average color and area of corn plants. The nutrient indicator is automatically computed by an ESP32 microcontroller using sensor readings, while the average color and area inputs are manually entered via a mobile application. Additionally, the Fuzzy inference is integrated into the ESP32. The model underwent experimental validation on the health of the plantation, and the results were evaluated in four areas: one was designated for testing, and three were for validation. The model achieved an accuracy of 97.5% in Scenario 3, categorized as ’Very Favorable’, and an accuracy of 65% in Scenarios 2 and 4, categorized as ‘Unfavorable’. The implications of this research contribute to the advancement of AgroTICs among small producers, with the potential to enhance and automate the monitoring of their harvest production.

This paper presents a systematic literature review on cloud computing migration strategies specifically tailored for the music industry. The review aims to identify existing research, frameworks, and best practices related to cloud migration in the music industry, as well as highlight the challenges and opportunities associated with such migrations. Through an analysis of relevant literature, this study provides valuable insights to assist music industry stakeholders in developing effective cloud migration strategies.

Management of patient data at the Technical Implementation Unit of the Community Health Center (UPT. Puskesmas) of Rhee Sumbawa District has not been fully computerized. The need for the development of an Information System to store medical records (history) of patient data. The research aims to develop information systems with descriptive research methods. For software development methods using Waterfall Models and built with Microsoft Visual Studio C# software and databases stored in Microsoft SQL Server software. Software testing uses Black Box Testing, which is testing software in functional terms. The results of research into digital data technology products that function to enter, change, delete data and minimize the time to find the data needed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of data management. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

One of the major problems faced in managing biomass waste to higher quality products is choosing the right *** are used as an alternative fuel,with increase in the calorific *** carbonization(HTC)is a biomass conversion technology,used to obtain solid *** study aims to utilize of Calophyllum inophyllum as an alternative solid fuel through *** calorific value and proximate of the hydrochar will be determined and analyzed to find out its *** experiments were carried out at temperature variations of 160℃,190℃,and 220℃ and holding times of 30 and 60 *** results show that an increase in temperature and holding time causes a decline in the moisture content 1.87%,volatile matter 54.03%,and ash content 12.35%,respectively,leading to elevations in the fixed carbon at 31.75%.In addition,the highest calorific value of 4149 Kcal/Kg was produced at a temperature of 220℃,within a holding time of 60 *** results showed a significant increase in the quality of solid fuels between 3500–4611 Kcal/Kg in accordance with the American Standard Testing and Materials(ASTM).Therefore,this research leads to an important finding that Calophyllum inophyllum waste through the HTC process can be used as an alternative fuel to substitute lignite coal,which is environmentally friendly.

The preparation method of cellulose films plays a vital role in their properties. This work aims to characterize 2, 2, 6, 6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO)-oxidized bacterial cellulose powder (TOBCP) films prepared with three different methods (casting, boiling-casting, and boiling-vacuum). It is found that film by casting (CT film) shows the best electrical properties. A light-emitting diode (LED) in a direct current circuit connected to the CT film glows the most brightly. However, this film had lower tensile strength and thermal stability than films from boiling and boiling-vacuum techniques. The boiling-vacuum film presents the most compact fiber structure and the highest tensile and thermal properties. This film also shows the lowest electrical properties and the dimmest LED light. These results demonstrate the TOBCP properties from different methods that can be used to prepare film with desirable properties. © 2024 The Author(s).
