Explaining agent's decision can offer valuable insights for designers and end-users. One proposed method for explaining an agent's decision-making involves representing a causal relation between state components and action as a causal model and providing explanations for the decisions made using causal model. However, traditional causal model often faces structural limitation, restricting the range of representable control problems. Additionally, providing accurate explanation becomes challenging in control problems with various types of rewards because agent's intention of an action is unknown. In this study, we introduce a causal model capable of representing a broader range of control problems and a method to provide accurate explanations in control problems with various types of reward structures. Through redefining the relationships between nodes in the causal model, we have enabled a broader representation of control problems. Also, by incorporating agent's intention into the explanation, we have achieved to provide a more precise explanation. To validate the effectiveness of our proposed method, we conducted experiments using OpenAI's LunarLander environment. Using a proposed causal model, we defined the causal model of LunarLander, which could not be represented by conventional causal models. Furthermore, by incorporating the intentions of an agent into the explanation, novel interpretations previously inaccessible have become feasible.

Transporting payload with precise swing angles and transfer times poses a challenging task in building construction, which is why gantry crane systems are extensively utilized. Various control strategies, including open-loop and closed-loop systems, have been proposed to tackle this issue. However, most of these controllers rely on a model and parameters specific to the crane system, making the process of modeling and parameter identification complex and time-consuming. To address this challenge, this work presents a practical and simulation control method for automatic gantry cranes, which is evaluated simulation and experimentally. The lab-scale Gantry crane is developed in this work, which consists of mechanical and electrical parts. Proportional Integral and Derivative (PID) and Proportional Derivative (PD) controllers which applied optimization method are implemented in the electrical part of the system. The PID and PD controller applied in controlled the position and swing angle, respectively. The Gradient Decent optimization method is the best optimization method in determining the parameter of the controller, since it has the best simulation performance in the output of the system. The experimental result is developed and compared between simulation and lab-scale Gantry crane hardware implementation part. The performance of experimental results is shown appropriately approaching the performance of the simulation result, with the approximately settling time.

Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is widely used in electrochemistry, energy sciences, biology, and beyond. Analyzing EIS data is crucial, but it often poses challenges because of the numerous possible equivalent circuit models, the need for accurate analytical models, the difficulties of nonlinear regression, and the necessity of managing large datasets within a unified framework. To overcome these challenges, non-parametric models, such as the distribution of relaxation times (DRT, also known as the distribution function of relaxation times, DFRT), have emerged as promising tools for EIS analysis. For example, the DRT can be used to generate equivalent circuit models, initialize regression parameters, provide a time-domain representation of EIS spectra, and identify electrochemical processes. However, mastering the DRT method poses challenges as it requires mathematical and programming proficiency, which may extend beyond experimentalists’ usual expertise. Post-inversion analysis of DRT data can be difficult, especially in accurately identifying electrochemical processes, leading to results that may not always meet expectations. This article examines non-parametric EIS analysis methods, outlining their strengths and limitations from theoretical, computational, and end-user perspectives, and provides guidelines for their future development. Moreover, insights from survey data emphasize the need to develop a large impedance database, akin to an impedance genome. In turn, software development should target one-click, fully automated DRT analysis for multidimensional EIS spectra interpretation, software validation, and reliability. Particularly, creating a collaborative ecosystem hinged on free software could promote innovation and catalyze the adoption of the DRT method throughout all fields that use impedance data. © 2024 Elsevier Inc.

Geographical Information System is a term in the field of mapping which has a scope of how a system can unify geographic objects and their information. Freshwater fishery is the business of the majority of residents of South Bengkulu Regency covering tilapia and catfish. The solution is to create a web-based Freshwater Fish Pond GIS application using the PHP programming language. Making a database using MySQL, and for geolocation storage using Google Fusion Tables. The web that will be created will later display the GIS Web-based Freshwater Fish Pond Distribution Mapping in South Bengkulu Regency. Each pond will be accompanied by information such as the name of the owner, type of fish, type of pond, and location of the pond. It is known that the number of ponds in 4 villages in 2 districts in South Bengkulu Regency has reached 100 ponds consisting of 80 tilapia fish ponds, 20 catfish ponds. © 2021 IEEE.

The development of compact portable ECG monitoring devices often entails the pursuit of downsizing measurement systems. This objective frequently involves additional efforts, such as custom PCB fabrication for analog front-end systems and exploration of alternative electrode types and configurations. In this study, we investigate the feasibility of using the BioAmp EXG Pill, a miniature commercial analog front-end board, in comparison to the well-established AD8232. Our analysis focuses on comparing ECG signals from five adult subjects, examining both frequency components using the welch estimation method and ECG parameters extracted from time-domain signals. The results reveal that both devices provided similar outcomes in time-domain measurements, with a slightly lower standard deviation observed in the AD8232. In terms of spectral density, both devices proficiently captured low-frequency components within the 0–3 Hz range. However, in higher-frequency domains, the AD8232 demonstrated superior capability in capturing finer frequency details.

Big data technology is the overall technology that can handle the processing associated with analyzing the data to explore the potential that is in it. Some of the uses of big data are based on the biggest data traffic sources, such as social media, financial transactions, public data, censorship data, and company data. The problem found in the accumulation of village status data that has not been utilized in the decision-making process to determine the status of the next village and the absence of an application to process the data stored in the data database so that a tool is developed to analyze the buildup. The results of this study are to produce a prototype design that is Unified Modeling Language (UML) design, Form Design, and Database Design that will be used to develop Big Data Technology in determining the classification of village status based on the Village Build index. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Big data refers to big data, fast data processing, diversity of data structures, and data values so that it is not possible to be processed with outdated methods. Big data technology is used in various industrial sectors. Big data technology is the whole technology that can handle Big Data. Some of the uses of big data are based on the largest significant data traffic sources such as social media, financial transactions, public data, sensor data, and corporate data. The same is the case with the status of so many villages in Indonesia, so it is better to use big data for the classification of village status based on the village index build by involving an algorithm process. This research aims to produce a description of the role of big data in supporting activities in a grouping. The method used is a qualitative approach related to data collection based on scientific work with the source of data information needed to study literature techniques from various studies that have been published in national and international journals. A decision is made that big data has been widely used in different circles to facilitate performance and speed up the decision-making process. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The field of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is experiencing significant growth as it involves the integration of medical devices and systems with the internet and various digital technologies. This study provides a bibliometric analysis of scholarly articles pertaining to the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) during the time frame of 2018 to 2022. The analysis is conducted using data sourced from the Scopus database. A total of 1165 documents were identified and analyzed to gain insights into the current state of research in this field. The analysis includes trends in publication output, top authors and institutions, and key research topics. The results of the analysis indicate a steady increase in publication output on IoMT over the past five years, with the highest number of publications in 2022. The top authors in this field were Mohanty, S.P., Kougianos, E., and Pirbhulal, S., while the top institutions were King Saud University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and University of North Texas. Co-citation analysis revealed that wearable devices, telemedicine, and data analytics were among the key research topics in IoMT. This bibliometric analysis offers useful insights into the present research landscape of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) spanning the years 2018 to 2022. The findings can be beneficial for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and funding agencies in understanding the trends and priorities in this field. The top authors and institutions identified in this analysis can serve as valuable resources for collaboration and staying updated on the latest developments in IoMT. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the use of health services has increased significantly, therefore, the production of medical waste also experienced a high increase. The most appropriate and suitable technology to destroy medical waste is incineration or combustion technology, one of which is fluidized bed combustion (FBC). In addition, the FBC technique can also reduce hydrocarbon gases resulting from combustion so as to reduce dioxins into the environment. The reduction in carbon gas during combustion is caused by the absorbent used as a bed material for fluidization process. This study used alumina sand bed material with variations in diameter of 0.2 mm, 0.5 mm, 0.8 mm and 1.1 mm. This research was conducted with an experimental approach method using a laboratory scale FBC reactor and modeling using the Barracuda Virtual Reactor Computational Particle Fluid Dynamics (CPFD) software simulation. The results of this study indicate that alumina sand with a diameter of 0.2 mm has ability to capture more carbon than other sand diameter variations. Based on the simulation, the variation of the 0.2 mm diameter also shows the best solid mixing results due to the relationship between the fluidization movement of the bed material in the reactor and the bed material’s ability to reach the highest up to 50 cm from the bottom of the reactor in the 60th second simulation.

Pentapod: A New Type of Concrete Armor for Coastal Protection

This paper explores PentaPod, an invention in concrete armor units developed to protect coastal areas from damage caused by waves and currents. Until now, there hasn't been an armor unit intentionally designed to enhance its stability through connections with neighboring units. PentaPod provides a novel perspective, suggesting that the stability of armor units can be significantly improved not only by having substantial weight and effective interlocking but also by securely connecting them to each other. With this in mind, PentaPod concrete armor can be installed in a random or regular manner without the need for fasteners. Alternatively, it can also be installed regularly in layers with fasteners. Compared to conventional concrete armor installations, the overall stability of structures is significantly improved with interconnected PentaPod, either partially or entirely. In this paper, the results of testing the Stability Coefficient (Kd) for two variations of armor, namely PentaCone and PentaOcta, tested in a Wave Tank are also presented. The objective of this testing is to ascertain the stability coefficient for both variations of armor when installed randomly or regularly without any tying involved. The PentaPod arrangement allows for the implementation of both Grey Protection (using concrete armor) and Green Protection (conservation of mangrove areas) simultaneously, showcasing its versatility and integrated approach to coastal protection. © 2024, The Authors.
