Experimental studies of wind turbines require a long time and other obstacles such as weather. There is a need for an assessment system on the effect of the aerodynamic system used in wind turbine blades that is more practical and not affected by natural conditions. The purpose of this study is wind tunnel fabrication to facilitate studies of the characteristics of the turbine blade model that will be developed in the future. Wind tunnels are used with an open system type. The NACA 4412 horizontal axis wind turbine prototype with blade lengths of 70, 90, and 110 mm were tested for the number of blades 3, 4, and 5 at wind speeds between 3–8 m/s, the power generated by the rotor experienced a large change starting at wind speed. 6 m/s. By looking at the resulting blade rotation based on wind potential and speed, getting optimal results at a blade length of 110 mm with 5 blades. At a wind speed of 6 m/s, the rotation is 279.2 rpm, the rotor power is 0.39 W. Sawdust is one of the industrial wastes which naturally contains low energy density. An effective method is needed to utilize this biomass as a solid fuel product. This work aimed to investigate the physical and combustion properties of bio-pellets produced from sawdust under the wet torrefaction method. To prepare sawdust bio-pellet a number of steps were carried out including the wet torrefaction process, dough preparation, pelletizing, and drying. Wet torrefaction was performed by hydrothermally treating the sample in an autoclave at a temperature of 130°C and pressure of 2 atm (g) for 80 minutes. For the hydrothermal process, the used acetic acid solution was varied with variations of 1.3 M, 1.8 M, and 2.3 M. Properties of the product were analyzed under proximate and bomb calorimetry analyses. To evaluate the combustion properties a purposely built test apparatus was developed equipped with a data logger system. Based on the results it can be observed that increases in torrefaction temperature and acetic acid concentration resulted in an increase in the calorific value as well as decreases in the ash content. The highest calorific value was 4745 kcal/kg obtained from sawdust torrefied in acetic acid with a concentration of 2.3 M at a temperature of 130?. This sample also exhibits the lowest ash content which is only 1.97%. The combustion test disclosed a maximum combustion temperature of 589? with a burning rate of 0.711 g/min. Overall, the wet torrefaction applied in this investigation was beneficially enhanced the properties of bio-pellet products. © 2025 Institute of Physics Publishing. All rights reserved.

One of the critical visual components in video game creation is 3D asset prototypes, which also require significant effort. A procedural model using the L-system method for making low-poly buildings can address this issue. This model produces low-poly buildings based on simple parameters input by the user. The model receives input in the form of axioms, which are then processed according to predetermined L-system rules. After the building is formed, it is saved as a prefab in Unity so that it can be reused and modified by the user. The proposed method is implemented to our turn-based tactic *** and provided as a Unity package (add-on). Experimental results show that the buildings generated by the model have a minimalistic yet functional benefits. © 2024 IEEE.

Indonesia has the world's largest Muslim population, so the potential for Zakat, Infaq, and Sadaqah (ZIS) funding is enormous. The existence of ZIS in the current Covid-19 pandemic is of extreme importance, as issues such as economic crisis, social inequality, and the rise of dhuafa (poor) are becoming more and more visible. However, in the presence of coronavirus, ZIS has become more challenging to manage and distribute. Bans on gatherings, distancing rules, and other restrictions to prevent the spread of the coronavirus make ZIS more challenging to manage. Therefore, we need innovations to build bridges between people in need and supporters. The Internet of Things (IoT) is one system that can bridge this. In this system, IoT enables machine-to-machine communication and reduces human interaction. This research uses IoT to support Rice Vending Machine with high accuracy. The accuracy is achieved using five load cells and a good rice way-out valve mechanism. In previous machines using a single load cell or open the valve according to a certain time. Based on its test results analysis and MAPE values, we found the machine's accuracy facing obtained very well, and the website monitoring was also very effective. This research provides innovation in ZIS management and dramatically benefits society. © 2023 IEEE.

The electrocatalytic nitrate reduction reaction(NitRR)represents a promising approach toward achieving economically and environmentally sustainable ***,it remains a challenge to regulate the size effect of electrocatalysts to optimize the catalytic activity and ammonia ***,the Cu-based catalysts were tailored at the atomic level to exhibit a size gradient ranging from single-atom catalysts(SACs,0.15–0.35 nm)to single-cluster catalysts(SCCs,1.0–2.8 nm)and nanoparticles(NPs,20–30 nm),with the aim of studying the size effect for the NO_(3)^(-)-to-NH_(3) reduction ***,the Cu SCCs exhibit enhanced metal–substrate and metal–metal interactions by taking advantageous features of Cu SACs and Cu ***,Cu SCCs achieve exceptional electrocatalytic performance for the NitRR with a maximum Faradaic efficiency of ca.96%NH_(3)and the largest yield rate of ca.1.99 mg·h^(-1)·cm^(-2) at-0.5 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE).The theoretical calculation further reveals the size effect and coordination environment on the high catalytic activity and selectivity for the *** work provides a promising various size-controlled design strategy for aerogel-based catalysts effectively applied in various electrocatalytic reactions.

One of the potential implementations of mobile robots in mitigating the risk of communicable diseases is for delivering items and handling materials with no-human contact. In that scenario, mobile robots require the capability of performing simultaneous multi-object detection and distance estimation for dynamic exploration in a real-world environment. Some existing research papers have contributed to the development of object detection or distance estimation, separately. However, there is still a lack of studies on simultaneous multi-object detection and distance estimation for robot navigation, especially in terms of performance analysis of the integrated techniques. One of the most challenging issues of integrating multi-object detection and distance estimation is the validation and evaluation of the type of objects with their relevant estimated distance to the robot. For that reason, this research aims to analyze the mobile robot's sensing performance in integrated simultaneous multi-object detection and distance estimation during navigation scenarios. A depth camera of Intel RealSense D455 and a rotating LIDAR of Slamtec RPLidar A1M8 are utilized in the experiments. The result of experiments shows that the object detection algorithm using Mobilenet SSD V2 can perform an accuracy of 74%, with precision, recall, and F1-Score consecutively achieving 74,54%, 74,00%, and 74,22%. The multi-object distance estimator also performs satisfactory results with a low measurement average error of 10.3 cm for indoor experiments. The integrated multiobject detector and distance estimator system can work in a real-time mode of 30 FPS, thence significantly improving the navigation performance of the mobile robot. © 2023 IEEE.

In the life insurance industry, determining the amount of premium paid by the insured to the insurer is crucial. This paper uses Stackelberg’s game theory to describe the reality that occurs between two parties involved in this business, i.e. the insured and the insurer. The insurer as a leader offers four different insurance products, and the insured as a follower has two strategies: (1) accepting or (2) rejecting one of the offered insurance products. The amount of premium is obtained by optimizing the insurer’s profit for each insurance product and the insured’s choice of strategy with a certain premium value limit. For the model formulation, the Indonesia Mortality Table IV is used as a guide to obtaining the parameters of the Makeham and Gompertz distribution (survival) functions. The developed model can determine (1) the amount of premium for each insurance product offered, (2) the expectation of insureds who will purchase each insurance product, and (3) the maximum profit for each of the two parties. A genetic algorithm is used to obtain the best solution. The result shows that the third insurance product, which uses Makeham distribution and offers two types of benefits, is preferred by the two parties involved. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

This study examined the effect of Zn2+ ion substitution on ZnxMn(1-x) Fe2O4 nanoparticles (x = 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8) towards signal Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR). The co-precipitation method synthesised the nanoparticles at a temperature of 90°C. The X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) results showed a polycrystalline structure with a crystallite size varied from 19.05 nm to 19.77 nm. In addition, as the Zn element increased in the ZnxMn(1-x)Fe2O4 nanoparticles, the degree of crystallinity increased by 21.72%, respectively. The optical properties of the nanoparticles ZnxMn(1-x) Fe2O4 indicate absorbance at wavelengths of 330.36–331.74 nm. The absorbance level increased as the Zn element decreased, resulting a direct optical gap of 3.47 eV and an indirect optical gap of 3.23 eV. The Attenuated Total Reflection (ATR) curve in the SPR biosensor indicated a shift in the reflective angle of the Prism/Au/Air configuration, which is 47.78° on Prisma/Au/nanoparticle of Zn0.8Mn0.2Fe2O4/air by 50.75°, and the prism/Au/nanoparticle of Zn0.2Mn0.8Fe2 O4/air by 51.04°. The substitution of Zn ions in the compound Zn x Mn(1-x)Fe2O4 affects the resulting ATR curve. The shift in the SPR angle is caused by changes in the refractive index in each layer which is influenced by the concentration of each material which has an impact on the absorbance ability and photon reflectance. This research has the potential to continue with the testing of dielectric and magnetic properties, as well as special testing for biological analytes compatible with ZnxMn(1-x)Fe2O4 nanoparticles. © 2023 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Strawberry production is an important crop in the northern region of Thailand that is only available in winter. Theoretically, strawberries can be grown in plant factories that can control the climate conditions strawberries need. Generally, the cooling load from lighting accounts for almost 80% of the total heat load in the plant factory. To reduce the cost of using light energy and the heat load in plant factories, this study was conducted on cultivation methods in semi-closed greenhouses that utilize natural light during the day. Coolness is generated by solar energy during the day and stored in cooling energy storage that stored coolness is used during the night. The total cooling load for year-round strawberry cultivation in the greenhouse was about 814 GJ, consisting of the stages of strawberry floral initiation, flowering, and fruiting at 17%, 17%, and 66%, respectively. In addition, the payback period is around 14.16 - 16.29 years. © 2024 IEEE.

Artificial neural networks (ANNs) are intricate mathematical models, drawing inspiration from the biological nervous system, and offering intelligence alongside nonparametric capabilities. The efficacy of ANNs heavily relies on their learning process. Heuristic search algorithms have been proposed in literature as reliable options for optimizing neural networks utilizing the Perceptron architecture. This paper presents an suboptimal neural network Perceptron training method employing the Whale Optimization Algorithm for the application of farming watering mobile robots. To achieve this, a fitness function based on system responses such as overshoot, settling Time, and steady-state Error was developed. The sub-optimal Perceptron controller was then implemented using MATLAB, CoppeliaSim software and the EVA robot, resulting in a 66.17% overshoot, a 4.7% steady-state error, and a settling time of 3.05 seconds. Moreover, the sub-optimal Perceptron controller was mapped onto a System on Chip FPGA AMD-Xilinx Zynq 7020, resulting in a hardware resources consumption of 1,870 (3.52%) Lookup table, 2 (0.9%) Digital Signal Processing blocks, 1,019 (0.96%) Flip-Flops and a power consumtion of 0.005 W. Finally, Hardware-in-The-Loop validation was performed using CoppeliaSim, Python, Universal Direct Memory Access, and the EVA robot. The results showed an overshoot of 94.83%, a settling time of 2 seconds, and a steady-state error of 4.5%. © 2024 IEEE.
