Sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) is crucial, yet it is still difficult to implement in companies. This happens because there are various factors known as critical success factors (CSFs) that have a role in the implementation of plans and operational performance in sustainability. The study used multiple-case studies and analyzed four different types of companies that have implemented external sustainability. Based on the within-case analysis, a list of CSFs for external sustainability implementation that differs between organizations is generated for each case. Furthermore, the effects of contingencies toward CSFs implementation are established.

We report the utilization of microfluidic technology to phage selection and demonstrate that accurate control of washing stringency in our microfluidic magnetic separator (MMS) directly impacts the diversity of isolated peptide sequences. Reproducible generation of magnetic and fluidic forces allows controlled washing conditions that enable rapid convergence of selected peptide sequences. In the research of bio-molecular chips and sensors, extra electric biases are most often employed to control and manipulate the DNA and protein molecules moving through micro/nano-fluidic channels. In order to accurately and flexibly control the bio-molecules as they move within the channels, a clear understanding of how the current changes within the buffer solution caused by an applied bias is fundamental. In this report, the current changed value of different buffer solutions, e.g., KC1, TE, and TBE was systematically studied with real-time monitoring and quantitative analysis in the situation of the buffers moving through a fluidic channel with a 5 μm inner diameter, driven by biases of 50 or 100 mV. The results revealed that the relation- ship between the current changed value and the pause interval of the applied electric field is highly consistent with the Hill Equation, which is helpful for accurately detecting and manipulating single biomolecules in microfluidic sensors and biochips.

The use of powder metallurgy (PM) techniques and injection molding to produce short fiber-reinforced aluminum matrix composites (AMCs),is discussed. Aluminum matrix composites (AMCs) reinforced with SiC fibers are used in the automotive and aerospace industries by virtue of their high-strength-to-weight ratio, and low thermal expansion coefficient. Powder injection molding (PIM) is utilized in the fabrication of short fiber-reinforced intermetallic composites and ceramic composites without controlling the orientation of the fibers. The fiber degradation analysis at each stage of the process showed an increase in fiber fracture with increased fiber volume fraction.
