Secured intelligent transportation with privacy retention through blockchain framework

The Secured Independent Intelligent Transport System (SIITS) is poised to revolutionize traditional transport management systems, leveraging autonomous vehicles (AVs) connected through an open-channel Internet to link Traffic Command Centers (TCCs), Road Side Units (RSUs), and AVs within the SIITS framework. However, this reliance on the Internet exposes users to various security risks, safety vulnerabilities, and other challenges that impede the progress of SIITS applications. In this method, ensuring robust security management and trustworthiness is paramount for the long-term adoption of this innovative trend. While previous efforts have focused on integrating security methods from multiple disciplines into a unified reference design, this article presents a reference architecture primarily centered around ITS safety. Additionally, the article introduces a proposed framework for enhancing ITS safety, addressing the confidence issues. To further address these challenges, the article offers categorization of goods, Big Data methods and services, and validates the utility of ITS business analytics for corporate applications through a groundbreaking multi-tier ITS security architecture. © 2024 - IOS Press. Nickel is typically used as one of the main components in electrical contact devices or *** oxide(NiO)is usually formed on the surfaces of electrodes and can negatively impact system performance by introducing electrical contact *** thermal,electrical,and transport properties of NiO,as a Mott insulator or a p-type semiconductor,can be altered by operating and environmental conditions such as temperature and stress/strain by *** this study,we inves-tigate the fundamental material properties of NiO through the first-principle ***,we obtain and compare the lattice parameter,magnetic moment,and electronic structure for NiO via the WIEN2K simulations with four different poten-tials(i.e.,GGA,GGA+U,LSDA,and LSDA+U).Then,using the WIEN2K simulation results with LSDA+U potential that produces a highly accurate bandgap for NiO,we calculate the electrical conductivity and electrical part of the thermal conductivity of nickel and NiO as a function of temperature and carrier concentration through the BoltzTraP *** simulation results revealed that the electrical conductivity relative to the relaxation time for NiO increases with the carrier concentration,while it shows a slightly decreasing trend with temperature under a fixed carrier *** contrast,the electrical part of the thermal conductivity shows an increasing trend considering carrier concentration and temperature.

The continual growth of the computer vision and artificial intelligence fields overtime have provided the basis for more efficient and accurate surveillance. This paper examines the use of YOLO, a deep learning model that is used in the detection of objects, for use in real-time surveillance systems. The added benefits of identifying and labeling multiple objects in a single pass forward makes YOLO ideal for real-time surveillance. Unlike other approaches to object detection such as region-based methods or methods with multiple stages of detection, YOLO cast object detection as a regression problem where boxes and class probabilities are predicted jointly. This leads to a far improved performance when compared with their slower counterparts without the sacrifice of precision. In this work, the YOLO model is finetuned on a large database of surveillance videos to improve object detection at low lighting and in the presence of occlusion and crowding. The developed system has a high detection speed and accuracy;the application areas will include uses such as security inspection, traffic regulation, and anomaly detection. This is done to affirm that using YOLO is more efficient and faster than the other object detection algorithms in real-time surveillance tasks. The results indicate directions for further improvements to guarantee public safety and improve efficient surveillance systems. © 2025 IEEE.

Corn is one of the major crops in India. In agriculture, early diagnosis of corn leaf disease is essential for increasing the yield of crops. One of the most widely grown grains worldwide is maize. Several leaf diseases, including corn common rust, corn grey leaf spot, and corn leaf blight, are prevalent and can cause significant damage to corn harvests. In their early stages, the symptoms of many leaf diseases are hardly distinguishable. This proposed work is a comparative analysis of two prominent convolutional neural network models, Inception version 3 and MobileNet version 2, for the corn leaf disease detection dataset. The research seeks to illuminate their respective performance and computational characteristics by employing the same dataset and consistent settings, including hyper parameters, data augmentation methods, and simulation parameters. MobileNet emerges as a frontrunner in training accuracy, boasting an impressive 95 percent, compared to Inception's 89 percent0. This study substantially contributes to agricultural disease detection by offering empirical insights and a foundation for enhanced model development and real-world applications. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper explores the utilization of a novel transformer-based architecture for end-to-end learning in predicting steering angles in self-driving scenarios while leveraging a novel robust image processing pipeline to handle diverse environmental situations. Our approach relies solely on visual perception as the input to generate control commands. We trained and evaluated our methodology using a proprietary dataset from a self-driving car simulator consisting of image frames paired with their corresponding steering angles. The presented methodology is robust against overfitting, and it shows superior performance in terms of Mean Squared Error (MSE) and Mean Absolute Error (MAE) compared to previous methods. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper considers the problem of controlling distributed energy resources (DERs) in a distribution network (DN);the paper focuses on the voltage regulation task and on the concept of virtual power plant (VPP). For the latter, we envision an aggregation of DERs as a VPP that tracks power setpoints at the point of common coupling to provide ancillary services to the bulk power system. We propose a feedback-based controller that pursues solutions to a time-varying AC optimal power flow problem. This controller ensures voltage constraints are met in real time, assuming no voltage measurement errors. The feedback from the system mitigates the controller sensitivity to model uncertainties and eliminates the need for measurements of uncontrollable loads at every node. The feedback-based controller is tested on the IEEE37-node system with delta and wye-connected devices in a strongly unbalanced configuration. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2024.

This study presents an innovative implementation of the Single Shot Multibox Detector (SSD) algorithm for real-time object detection on the Raspberry Pi 4. It harnesses the synergies of Python programming, the OpenCV computer vision library, and the SSD algorithm's adaptability. Python, chosen for its versatility, is the programming language, while OpenCV forms the backbone for implementing the finely tuned SSD algorithm. The resulting modular script, designed for real-time object detection, incorporates optimization techniques such as frame skipping and region of interest cropping to enhance Raspberry Pi 4 performance. The system demonstrates promising results, showcasing accurate and responsive object detection in resource-constrained environments. The Raspberry Pi 4's versatility makes it the solution for diverse edge computing applications, including surveillance, robotics, and intelligent environments. Computational constraints prompted the adoption of optimizations, while identified challenges illuminate future research directions exploring advanced algorithms and considering more potent hardware variants. This study contributes significantly to the intersection of computer vision and edge computing, underscoring the successful implementation of the SSD algorithm on the Raspberry Pi 4 and encapsulating technical achievements, practical implications, and a roadmap for future advancements in real-time object detection. © 2024 IEEE.

Materials properties are highly dependent on the processing parameters and technique used during sintering. The effect of Spark Plasma sintering process parameters (pressure and temperature) on the hardness and relative density of Ni–20Cr–5ZrO2 composite was investigated. Response Surface Methodology (RSM) from the design of experiment (DOE) technique was successfully employed for the experimental design, and statistical analysis was conducted on the obtained experimental results. The microstructural analysis of the sintered composite showed the presence of solid solution phases of Ni and Cr, which were confirmed by the XRD results as (Cr,Ni) alongside unreacted ZrO2 particles at sintering temperatures of 950 °C and 1000 °C. The validity of the model developed with the impact of each variable and their corresponding interaction on the responses was performed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The relative density and hardness were the two responses considered. The actual values (experiment data) and expected values (simulated data) were subjected to statistical analysis, to develop a predictive model that synchronizes density and hardness as distinct process parameters, with material hardness and relative density serving as the responses of the specified experiment. For the responses, quantitative models were created, and 10 experimental runs were processed to ascertain the desirability of the responses. The SPS processing parameters considered the most desirable were 1000 °C sintering temperature and 50 MPa pressure. The hardness property obtained under this condition is 433.23 HV with a relative density of 98.15%. © 2023 The Authors
