This paper presents the control strategy of autonomous base station placement for localization of the GNSS interference source. The proposed algorithm deals with the optimization of the base station trajectory for target motion analysis based on bearing only tracking problem. The control strategy of the proposed algorithm is designed to maximize a cost function which is generally a functional of the Fisher information matrix. Compared to the optimal control methods, the proposed algorithm is easy to be designed and implemented, and constraints of multiple base stations' trajectories can be effectively included. In addition, the proposed algorithm also considered target's dynamics that is both uncertain and random, and there are multiple base stations for observing the target. In order to verify the performance of the proposed algorithm, simulation was performed with dynamic target case in the 2D scenario. It is assumed that the base stations' networks have non-fully connected topology. According to the simulation results, it was confirmed that the proposed algorithm presents a flexible control strategy of autonomous multiple base stations' placement for bearing only target tracking system. © The Authors, published by EDP Sciences, 2019.

This paper is to perform a probabilistic fracture mechanics assessment of piping welds in a nuclear power plant with considering residual stress *** assess the structural integrity objectively,the probabilistic fracture mechanics analysis code for nuclear piping is employed to estimate the leak probabilities of the *** the aging related degradation mechanism,crack growth rates in the welds subjected to fatigue and stress corrosion cracking are applied in Monte Carlo *** order to verify the influence of overlay welding on stress improvement,a series of residual stress distributions in the welds are determined using the Finite Element *** geometries,material properties and operating loads of the piping system are based on those in the piping stress *** results show that the leak probabilities increase with operating loads are significantly related to welding residual *** compressive stresses at the inner surface of original pipe,weld overlay is an efficient way to avoid crack propagation during subsequent *** addition,the leak probability distributions can be regarded as the important factors for structural safety and operational stability evaluation of the piping system.

The purpose of this study is to create an application which functions automatically with high accuracy when analyzing bank customer data. This needed due to non-perforMing loans occurring frequently caused by the inaccuracy of credit analysts in the assessment of creditworthiness. This can be seen in the incident occurred in a public bank located in Bandung. This bank does not have the database that serves to accommodate data history and the method used in assessing creditworthiness is merely based on the simple statistical analysis. This leads to reduced accuracy and speed in the decision-making process. This research applies Naïve Bayes Classifier (NBC) method, a Data Mining technique. This helps credit analysts to select customers who are truly eligible to be given credit so that non-perforMing loan can be avoided. NBC calculates the probability of one class from each group of attributes and deterMines which class is most optimal. The accuracy of the NBC sampling test from 501 data is 94% compared to the decision made by a credit analyst. It can be concluded that this application is very helpful for credit analysts in recommending customers who are eligible for a loan to the bank's decision maker. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

WPA Mk II Project started in 2011 in response to the ESA spare procurement philosophy for ISS life extension up to 2020 (and possibly beyond 2020). The project involves TASI as responsible for the design, development, manufacturing, integration and testing of this new water pump package for the ISS Columbus module. This pump package is responsible for the circulation of water inside Columbus pipelines to ensure proper thermal control not only for the Payloads (PL's), but also for the cabin where astronauts work and live, and consequently represents the core of the Thermal Control system in Columbus. WPA Mk II is characterized by several innovations in comparison with the current WPA Mk I installed in Columbus, like new functionalities (on board SW uploading capability), or new technologies (ultrasonic flow meter), up to a high level modular design (characterized by several ORUs, on Orbit Removable Units, conceived to optimize R&R operations and associated time and costs). A successful Critical Design Review has been achieved in July 2014, in Turin, with the support of the European Space Agency and Airbus. Now TASI is approaching MAIT phase: in the 2015 there will be the integration and testing of the various ORUs while the 2016 will be characterized by the integration and testing of the two pump packages WPA Mk II to demonstrate system compliance to the launchers and Columbus environmental and functional requirements. The present article provides an overview of the Project, the main features, the mission scenarios, and a general overview about the associated Qualification plan at Component, ORUs and Assy level. To improve the responsiveness of engine speed control to disturbances, robust controls were investigated by simulation. The intake air control system of a gasoline engine is a typical nonlinear system, and the disturbances and parameter perturbations are generally regarded as being the unstable factors with regard to engine control. In this paper, a Mean-Value Engine Model (MVEM) with disturbances and parameter perturbations is investigated using Sliding Mode Control (SMC), which is a form of variable structure control, with a view to address instability in the idle speed control process. The simulation results confirmed that, compared with a conventional PI (Proportional-Integral) controller, the stability of the idle speed for an engine that is being subjected to disturbances, parameter variations and background noise is greatly improved by the application of SMC.

The preventive maintenance (PM) is scheduled periodically to restore the system condition. However, PM activities cannot generally restore the system to as good as new condition but in an intermediate situation, which is called imperfect PM. The PM interval optimization is useful for improving system reliability. A popular approach to optimization interval is minimizing the maintenance costs. The goal of this work is to obtain optimal PM intervals that minimize expected cost considered PM imperfect, in other words we obtain the optimal PM intervals assuming that the PM action restores the system operating state to be somewhere between as good as new and as bad as old. The results are applied in a real data and the PM is maintained at a decreasing sequence of intervals, which is more practical since most systems need more frequent maintenance with increased usage and age. Furthermore consider a wrong PM perfect hypotheses increase the maintenance cost substantially. © 2014 American Society of Civil Engineers.

Important role of the outermost and innermost edge flames on flame extinction was investigated in buoyancy-suppressed non-premixed counter-flow flame with a triple co-flow configuration. The use of He curtain flow produced a microgravity level of 10-2-10-3 g in He-diluted non-premixed counter triple co-flow flame experiments. Flame stability map was presented based on flame extinction and oscillation near extinction limit. The stability map via critical diluent mole fraction with global strain rate was represented by varying outer and inner He-diluted mole fractions. Distinct oscillation regimes existed, and the oscillation and extinction modes were quite different each other in terms of the global strain rate and outer and inner He-diluted mole fractions. The flame extinction modes could be classified into five. The result showed that the edge flame speed was influenced significantly by the conductive heat losses to the inner cold flow mixture or He curtain flow ambience.

Impact of injecting microbubbles on the thermal expansion due to the nuclear spallation reaction were examined numerically. Since the mercury density is higher than the density of solid wall, the interaction between mercury and solid wall must be taken into account. Our approach is to solve the momentum and energy conservation equations and the time development of elastic stress for both bubbly fluid and elastic solid. The Keller equation is employed to reproduce the nonlinear oscillation of bubble with considering the thermal dumping effect by the reduced order model. The continuum phase of liquid mercury is coupled with the discrete phase of microbubbles using the Euler-Lagrange method. As the results, the bubble cloud develops around the center of inertia of motion induced by the thermal expansion. The elasticity of the wall affects on the migration of the center of inertia away from the wall. The injection of microbubbles is effective to decrease the pressure rise due to thermal expansion for both rigid and elastic wall conditions when the void fraction of microbubbles is higher than the volume rate of thermal expansion of liquid mercury.

A series of W-Al nanolayer coatings were deposited with varying content of aluminum from 0 at.% to 65 at.% by a unbalanced magnetron (UBM) sputtering system. The as-deposited coatings were investigated first. Then, the coatings were oxidized aiming to study their oxidation behavior. SEM, TEM, XRD, GDOS and nano-hardness tester were used. The results showed that the Al content had a significant effect on the performance of W-Al coatings. The hardness of as-deposited and oxidized coatings decreased with increasing Al content. The pure W coating was heavily oxidized. As the Al content increased, the oxidation decreased fast and then remained stable as the Al content was higher than 45at.%. The effects of formed oxides on hardness were discussed. © 2015 Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
