作者: JONES, RA Mr. Robert A. Jones is a Naval Architect in the Deck Systems Branch of the Naval Ship Engineering Center Hyattsville Md. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois. Upon joining NAVSEC in 1965 he completed the Hull Systems and Weapons Support Division Junior Engineer Training Program and was then assigned to his present position which includes design and system engineering for submersible vehicle mechanical system equipment jettisoning system underwater work tools and submersible vehicle certification. He is a Registered Engineer in Training in the State of Illinois. He is a member of the Marine Technology Society and the Association of Senior Engineers of the Naval Ship Systems Command.

作者: RESNICK, I MACANDER, A Israel Resnick attended George Washington University and the City College of New York and received a B.S. degree in Chemistry from latter in 1942. He has done graduate work at Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute. From 1942 to 1948 he was with the U. S. Army Quartermaster Corps as a Supervisor of Inspectors of Chemicals and Plastics. Since 1948 he has been a member of the technical staff as a Materials Engineer at the U. S. Naval Applied Science Laboratory where he has been active in reinforced plastics and cellular plastics for more than 15 years. Since 1963 he has been Senior Task Leader on Syntactic Foam in the Plastics and Elastomers Branch of the U. S. Naval Applied Science Laboratory. He is a member of RESA (Scientific Research Society of America) and he is Chairman of Subcommittee VI on Syntactic Foam of ASTM Committee D20. Aleksander Macander attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and received a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1962. He is presently attending Stevens Institute of Technology where he is pursuing a graduate degree in Plastics Engineering. Since 1962 Mr. Macander has been a member of the U. S. Naval Applied Science Laboratory technical staff as a Mechanical Engineer. For the last five years he has been engaged in the development of syntactic foam systems for buoyancy and structural applications in the deep ocean as well as the development of ultrasonic nondestructive test methods for quality assurance of these foam materials. In addition Mr. Macander is responsible for the deep submergence materials exposure program in the ocean being conducted by the U. S. Naval Applied Science Laboratory. He is also a member of the Marine Technology Society.

作者: KERN, DH Cleveland Ohio March 9–13 of the American Society of Mechanical Engia B. S. Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering and in 1950 he returned for three years postgraduate training following which in 1952 he was awarded a Professional Engineering Degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. In 1968 he completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard. As an Engineering Duty Officer he has served in various Naval commands. Following the war he was assigned as Planning and Estimating Hull Assistant at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and as Assistant Design Superintendent at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. He has had two tours of duty at the Naval Ship Systems Command formerly the Bureau of Ships. Since March 1969 he has been assigned to duty as Commander Portsmouth Naval Shipyard Portsmouth N. H.

作者: COCHRANE, RL USN The author is a graduate of the U. S. Naval Academy Class of 1940 and has a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Captain Cochrane served in a number of key gunnery and torpedo billets afloat and ashore during and after World War II. In recent years he has been Director of the TARTAR Missile Program in the Bureau of Naval Weapons commander USS CAVALIER (APA-37) served in the Office of DCNO (Fleet Operations and Readiness) and commanded Amphibious Squadron 7 prior to assuming his present billet. He is now Director of the Plans and Programs Division in the Surface Warfare Systems Directorate of NAVORD.
