In order to improve the prediction accuracy of the carbon brush temperature trend of the generator, analyzing the operating state of the generator more accurately, and reduce other accidents like the unplanned outage caused by carbon brush failure of the generator in the power plant. A multi-step temperature prediction model based on the LSTM (Long Short-Term Memory) neural network is proposed. The data comes from real operating carbon brush temperature of Weihai Power Plant in ten days. Then the temperature prediction model is established to achieve an accurate prediction of the carbon brush temperature in the future day. The prediction error is stable within 0.4 °C. By comparing the predicted results of the BP model and Elman model, the error between the predicted results of each model and the actual temperature data is analyzed. By comparing the indicators and analyzing the actual curves, the results show that LSTM neural network has higher accuracy in predicting the temperature of generator carbon brush. This method is of reference significance for the accurate analysis of the operation state of the generator and the load analysis of the excitation system. © 2021 IEEE

On background of cooperative air combat, state estimation of aerial maneuvering target with multi-sensor cooperative reconnaissance is discussed in this paper. Multiple moving platforms equipped with different kinds of detectors construct heterogeneous mobile sensor networks. Graph theory is adopted to describe the communication topology of the networks. In consideration of detection range limit, the number of sensors participating in the detection changes over time. An interactive multiple model algorithm（IMM） is utilized for target motion modeling. The local observation information is processed by Cubature Information Filter（CIF）. A weighted average consensus-based state estimation method for heterogeneous mobile sensor networks with varying nodes is put forward to fuse information from different sensors and obtain a consistent and precise tracking result. Moreover, the stability analysis of proposed method is provided detailed. Finally, numerical simulation results are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

Distributed cooperative guidance problems for multi-missile system with time-varying delays and switching topologies are investigated. Firstly, considering the complex communication environment, a two-step cooperative guidance strategy is proposed to achieve the simultaneous attack under time-varying delays and switching topologies. In the first step, a distributed cooperative guidance law using neighboring information is designed to coordinate range-to-go and leading angle based on feedback linearization and consensus theory. The second step starts while multi missiles disconnect from each other and hit the target using PNG (Proportional Navigation Guidance). Then, the algorithm with three steps is presented to select the parameters in the cooperative guidance law. And the stability of the multi-missile system is proven using Lyapunov-Krasovskii theory. Finally, a numerical simulation is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed cooperative guidance strategy.

Verbal interaction between a human and a robot may play a key role in conveying suitable directions for a robot to achieve the goal of a user's request. However, a robot may need to correct task plans or make new decisions with human help, which would make the interaction inconvenient and also increase the interaction time. In this paper, we propose a new verbal interaction-based method that can generate plan models and execute proper actions without human involvement in the middle of performing a task by a robot. To understand the verbal behaviors of humans when giving instructions to a robot, we first conducted a brief user study and found that a human user does not explicitly express the required task. To handle such unclear instructions by a human, we propose two different algorithms that can generate a component of new plan models based on intents and entities parsed from natural language and can resolve the unclear entities existed in human instructions. An experimental scenario with a robot, Cozmo, was tried in the lab environment to test whether or not the proposed method could generate an appropriate plan model. As a result, we found that the robot could successfully accomplish the task following human instructions and also found that the number of interactions and components in the plan model could be reduced as opposed to the general reactive plan model. In the future, we are going to improve the automated process of generating plan models and apply various scenarios under different service environments and robots.

Closed-Form Modeling and Analysis of an XY Flexure-Based Nano-Manipulator

Flexure-based mechanisms are widely utilized in nano manipulations. The closed-form statics and dynamics modeling is difficult due to the complex topologies, the inevitable compliance of levers, the Hertzian contact interface, etc. This paper presents the closed-form modeling of an XY nano-manipulator consisting of statically indeterminate symmetric(SIS) structures using leaf and circular flexure hinges. Theoretical analysis reveals that the lever’s compliance, the contact stiffness, and the load mass have significant influence on the static and dynamic performances of the *** are conducted to verify the effectiveness of the established models. If no piezoelectric actuator(PEA) is installed, the influence of the contact stiffness can be eliminated. Experimental results show that the estimation error on the output stiffness and first natural frequency can reach 2% and 1.7%, respectively. If PEAs are installed, the contact stiffness shows up in the models. As no effective method is currently available to measure or estimate the contact stiffness, it is impossible to precisely estimate the performance of the overall system. In this case, the established closed-form models can be utilized to calculate the bounds of the performance. The established closed-form models are widely applicable in the design and optimization of planar flexure-based mechanisms.

Strength-based concurrent design for structural topology and building orientation of additively manufactured lattice structure

A novel additive manufacturing (AM)-driven concurrent design strategy based on the beam characterization model considering strength constraints is proposed. The lattice topology, radius size, building orientation (BO), and structural yield strength can be simultaneously adjusted by integrating the overall process-structure-performance relationship of the AM process into the optimization. Specifically, the transverse isotropic material model is adopted to describe the material properties induced by the layer-by-layer manner of additive manufacturing. To bolster lattice strength performance, the stress constraints and ratio constraints of lattice struts are employed. The Tsai-Wu yield criterion is implemented to characterize the lattice strut’s strength, while the P-norm method streamlines the handling of multiple constraints, minimizing computational overhead. Moreover, the gradient-based optimization model is established, where both the individual struts diameters and BO can be designed, and the buckling-prone spatial struts are strategically eliminated to improve the lattice strength further. Furthermore, several typical structures are optimized to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The optimized results are quite encouraging since the heterogeneous lattice structures with optimized BO obtained by the strength-based concurrent method show a remarkably improved performance compared to traditional designs.

Inshore ship detection is a challenging task due to the complex background and object placement in remote sensing port images. To address this problem, we propose a detection method based on semantic and instance segmentation. First, a multi-information fusion network is designed to segment ship objects by taking edge and global information into account, which comprises a multi-task network, a global network and a fusion network. Then a simple but effective instance segmentation method based on line scanning and interval analysis is presented to separate multiple ships within one semantic region. Experimental results on an inshore ship data set collected from Google Earth validate the state-of-the-art performance of the proposed method.

Si has been considered as one of the most potential new-generation anode materials for high-capacity lithium-ion batteries. However, the lithiation and delithiation of lithium ions during the charge-discharge processes of the Si electrode would give rise to almost four-fold volume expansion, causing structural changes and cracks of the conductive network, limiting the application of Si-based anode material. In this paper, the lithium ions inserting into Si material at various positions and at different doping concentrations of lithium ions was studied by first-principles method. The stability of different insertion sites, the structural changes, band structures and density of States after Li insertion were analyzed. It has been found that the lithium ions doping is an interstitial doping rather than a substitutional one and the tetrahedral center (Td) site is the most stable insertion position. From the band structure analysis, it can be seen that the Si material with the insertion of lithium ions becomes metal-like, and as the concentration changes, silicon changes from an indirect gap semiconductor to a direct gap semiconductor. When the concentration reaches 12.5%, the structural expansion rate increases obviously. This work provides a strategy for the improvement of the Si based anode material used in high-capacity lithium-ion batteries. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This study aims to reduce the excessive transverse vibration of electric multiple unit (EMU) train seats in railway lines. Hence, the influence of seat vibration isolation components on the seat vibration is studied. The modal characteristics of the bogie, body, and seat of an EMU train are obtained via an on-the-spot running test and a whole vehicle bench test. In accordance with test results, design requirements of seat vibration isolation elements are proposed on the basis of single-degree-of-freedom vibration isolation theory. Then, the seat structure is optimized to improve the comfortable capacity. Contrastive test results show that the optimized vibration isolation measures can reduce the vibration of the seat and avoid resonance risk.

The convergence of multiple disciplines like medicine and engineering has spurred the swift progress of technologies including big data and artificial intelligence in the educational realm. The sustainable development of students' artificial intelligence application abilities is an important task in education. To enhance the precision and interdisciplinary nature of research in improving students' artificial intelligence application abilities, our study delves deeply into the mechanisms behind these abilities. We innovatively used cutting-edge methods such as knowledge graphs to conduct multidimensional analysis, combined with the background of the times to explore the reasons for the changes in research hotspots and publication volume, and comprehensively presented the research process and development status of students' artificial intelligence application abilities from a global perspective. We found that the field of students' artificial intelligence application abilities is gradually shifting towards interdisciplinary integration with strong comprehensiveness, and deep cooperation across countries, disciplines, and teams will bring greater and more profound development opportunities. On the path of interdisciplinary intersection and artificial intelligence integration, this study provides references and new insights into the development trends of students' artificial intelligence application abilities. Additionally, it effectively promotes the scientific development of students' abilities in the field of artificial intelligence applications at the intersection of multiple disciplines such as medicine and engineering. © 2025 Wiley Periodicals LLC.
