As Industry 4.0 continues to advance, point cloud registration technology is extensively employed in scenarios such as collaborative defect detection in products and digital twin-assisted assembly. In this paper, we present an end-to-end point cloud registration model, GTPCR, which is based on the utilization of spatial structural information within point cloud data. GTPCR employs a point-wise approach, directly solving rigid rotations based on estimated correspondences without reliance on RANSAC. It conceives of the point cloud as a graph structure in three-dimensional space, encoding nodes across various dimensions. The encoding of an individual node is dictated by its position and centrality. The geometric associations between nodes are contingent on factors such as relative position, Euclidean distance, azimuth, and elevation. Edge feature encoding is dynamically acquired through the learning process from node features. All encodings are incorporated as trainable biases input to the model. In comparison to methods transitioning from local to global, GTPCR demonstrates superior efficiency and heightened scalability. Moreover, due to its adept network architecture design, GTPCR effortlessly expands its applicability to non-rigid registration. Empirical evidence undeniably illustrates GTPCR’s competitive advantage across numerous datasets. In particular, GTPCR shows significant improvements in registration recall of 1.4% and 0.9% over baselines on the 3DMatch and 3DLoMatch datasets, respectively.

Energy consumption prediction plays a crucial role in green manufacturing for industry, providing a theoretical foundation for energy-saving planning, workshop scheduling, and process optimization. However, owing to the processing complexity of mechanical products and the multiplicity of production information, previous methods can only achieve prediction for individual devices, which are quite restrictive to collaborative manufacturing planning. To deal with product-level energy management, this paper first proposes a heterogeneous manufacturing association graph (HetMG) which contains various manufacturing elements including product projects, decomposed orders and processing devices. Then, with HetMG, an energy consumption prediction method, HetEP, is introduced based on heterogeneous graph neural network (GNN), which incorporates Relational Graph Convolutional Networks (R-GCNs), and Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) to mine the spatial-temporal relation of heterogeneous elements during the manufacturing process. Moreover, Graph Attention Network (GAT) is utilized in HetEP to adaptively learn the graph-structured data so that informative representations of each element can be obtained. The experimental results based on a manufacturing dataset from a generator factory demonstrate that the proposed HetEP yields superior prediction performance compared to the device-oriented prediction methods in terms of prediction accuracy.

Smart manufacturing systems combine collaborative and autonomous control systems to provide optimal performance and respond to volatile demands. A key component of smart manufacturing is material management, as raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products must be transported to the right location at the right time. However, during the production phase, it is imperative to establish an optimal traffic control scheme in order to avoid congestion and optimize material flow. This paper proposes a platooning-based control procedure implemented in a virtual agent-based manufacturing environment to increase the material flow efficiency on a manufacturing shop floor. An analysis of the production makespan and an indicator of the level of congestion in the material handling system was conducted in order to determine productivity improvements. An agent-based simulation is used to test the effectiveness of the novel platooning approach versus a traditional basic approach. A multivariate analysis of variance (MANOVA) reveals that the inclusion of a platoon-based procedure improves production performance and reduces congestion risks.

The division of aqueous samples conveniently into droplets is necessary for many biochemical and medical analysis applications. In this article, we propose the design of a cost-effective droplet generator for potential bio-chemical application, featuring two symmetric tubes. The new droplet generator revisits the relationship between capillary components and liquid flow rates. The size of generated droplets by prototype depends only on generator dimensions, without precisely needing to control external flow conditions or driving pressure. Even when the relative extreme difference in flow rate for generating nL level droplets is over 57.79%, and the relative standard deviation (RSD) of the volume of droplets is barely about 9.80%. A dropper working as a pressure resource is used to verify the rapidity and robustness of this principle of droplet generation, which shows great potential for a wide range of droplet-based applications. © 2022, The Authors. This study aims to design a water temperature stabilizer in the louhan fish aquarium by using a cooling system based on a Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) or a Peltier element. The system is built using several tools including a DS18B20 temperature sensor, a relay circuit and 3 Peltier elements. and AVR microcontroller. Temperature control is done by comparing the desired temperature set-point with the temperature from the sensor. The test was carried out by stabilizing the water temperature with two conditions, namely running water and inot flowing water and observing the behavior of the fish while the stabilizer system was running. The working principle of the stabilizer is that the sensor will read the water temperature, then the data is processed on the microcontroller. The temperature data will be compared with a predetermined set-point value which is around 29°C. If the temperature is more than 290C, then the cooler will turn on. The on-off control signal is generated by the microcontroller to turn on the relay and cooling system. From the test results obtained, the tool is able to stabilize the temperature of 290C and shows the behavior of fish with good conditions. © 2021 Institute of Physics Publishing. Control of machine learning models has emerged as an important paradigm for a broad range of robotics applications. In this paper, we present a sampling-based nonlinear model predictive control (NMPC) approach for control of neural network dynamics. We show its design in two parts: 1) formulating conventional optimization-based NMPC as a Bayesian state estimation problem, and 2) using particle filtering/smoothing to achieve the estimation. Through a principled sampling-based implementation, this approach can potentially make effective searches in the control action space for optimal control and also facilitate computation toward overcoming the challenges caused by neural network dynamics. We apply the proposed NMPC approach to motion planning for autonomous vehicles. The specific problem considers nonlinear unknown vehicle dynamics modeled as neural networks as well as dynamic on-road driving scenarios. The approach shows significant effectiveness in successful motion planning in case studies. © 2022, CC BY.

This work is motivated by the recent advancements of Deep Neural Networks (DNNs) for myoelectric prosthesis control. In this regard, hand gesture recognition via surface Electromyogram (sEMG) signals has shown a high potential for improving the performance of myoelectric control prostheses. Although the recent researches in hand gesture recognition with DNNs have achieved promising results, they are still in their infancy. The recent literature uses traditional supervised learning methods that usually have poor performance if a small amount of data is available or requires adaptation to a changing task. Therefore, in this work, we develop a novel hand gesture recognition framework based on the formulation of FewShot Learning (FSL) to infer the required output given only one or a few numbers of training examples. Thus in this paper, we proposed a new architecture (named as FHGR which refers to "Few-shot Hand Gesture Recognition") that learns the mapping using a small number of data and quickly adapts to a new user/gesture by combing its prior experience. The proposed approach led to 83.99% classification accuracy on new repetitions with few-shot observations, 76.39% accuracy on new subjects with few-shot observations, and 72.19% accuracy on new gestures with few-shot observations.

The development of electronic THz wave rotational absorption spectroscopy for quantitative gas sensing and its experimental validation is reported. The implementation of a THz wave spectrometer operating in the 220 to 330 GHz frequency band using state-of-the-art electronic THz wave radiation sources and detectors is described. The novel system technology for THz wave gas phase spectroscopy is validated by the detection of a broad range of relevant volatile organic compounds, nitrogen compounds, halogenated hydrocarbons, and commercial refrigerants. The sensitivity of the spectrometer meets gas species detection limits set by, e.g. occupational health and safety standards. The large bandwidth (220 to 330 GHz), high frequency resolution (0.5 MHz), and rapid frequency scanning (160 GHz/s) of the spectrometer enables the important analysis of gas mixtures.

In this paper, we propose a positioning algorithm based on sonar images, which is mainly used for the positioning of underwater robots, so that the robots can obtain the position information in real time when operating underwater and avoid colliding with the underwater walls. First, the underwater space was detected with multibeam sonar, and the sonar images of the underwater space wall were found to have line segment characteristics; Composite denoising, threshold segmentation and Canny edge detection are applied to the sonar image to extract the contours of the underwater spatial wall. Then the characteristic line segments of the underwater spatial wall are detected based on the LSD (Line Segment Detector) line segment detection algorithm. In terms of line segment classification, a method is proposed to effectively classify line segments using the origin of the sonar image and the slope of the detected line segment. To further demonstrate the effectiveness of the localization algorithm in this paper, the specific steps of the algorithm are illustrated with the example of underwater rectangular space.

The mobile ticketing service application is a promising technology for an online travel agent in Indonesia. However, its adoption is low and not evenly distributed, this is due to the lack of understanding regarding the use of mobile ticketing. The purpose of this study aims to identify and analyses the structural relationship of the factors influencing user intentions in mobile ticketing, previous research was conducted in Malaysia with different user characteristics and adoption acceleration, in this study adjustments will be made to different characteristics and conditions in Indonesia. This study conducted using the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) Method through the questionnaires’ distributions to 531 respondents using mobile ticketing services in an online travel agent, Indonesia. The study findings suggest that capability and use context that mediated mobility and perceived use significantly affect use intention. This study provides evaluation and recommendations for online travel agent services to increase user intentions and retain mobile ticketing services users.
