Three bands of magnetic resonance image-PD, T1 and T2-produce complimentary data about the human body portion being scanned. Medical image fusion combines complementary information of all three bands in the fused image with all relevant information needed by a physician to do medical analysis. This paper uses the edge-preserving bilateral filter and principal component analysis to combine complimentary data from PD, T1 and T2 bands of magnetic resonance images. Bilateral filter is used to decompose each of the three bands of magnetic resonance images into detail and approximation images. Detail image contains the high frequency information whereas approximation image contains the low frequency information. Principal component analysis and maximum absolute value are selected as the activity measure to fuse detail and approximation images. Then, the fused image is obtained by adding these fused detail and approximation images. Fusion metrics like Mutual information, Non-linear correlation information entropy, Structural similarity index measure, Gradient metric, Phase congruency metric and Human perception metric are used in this paper to compare the results of proposed method with image fusion using various pyramids, Wavelet and Curvelet Transforms. © 2023 IEEE.

In the developing technological era most of the manual work is replaced with automatic processes. This results in the development of automation technology. Parking system in commercial places like malls, hotels and restaurants is manual and congested. Huge line of waiting traffic in front of the buildings and searching for parking space inside the parking lot creates traffic both outside and inside the building, so the purpose of the project is to automate the parking space reservation and parking method. This whole setup can be integrated to a server. The number plate of the car is extracted with date, in-time and the reserved space. The space can be reserved by the driver in the GUI dashboard. The boom barrier opens and closes only when the photo beam sensor reads nothing. The number plate is captured using ANPR (Automatic Number/License Plate Recognition) technique. © 2023 IEEE.

With the arrival of Industry 5.0, human factors are gradually receiving more widespread attention. To research the visual search ability decline caused by different types of noise, we collected three common types of noise in factories. 30 participants have been invited to complete visual search tasks in different noise level conditions. The participants have been divided into the noise sensitive group and the noise insensitive group. By analyzing the task complete time, reaction time, average pupil diameters during the task, and visual hotspots during the task. It has been verified from two dimensions: work efficiency and physiological changes that factory noise has a negative impact on visual search task. Compared to single continuous noise processing, the composite noise has more significant impact on visual search tasks. Especially for noise sensitive individuals, random noise has more significant impact on visual search compared to regular noise. © 2023 IEEE.

Computer numerical control (CNC) machine tools are crucial for intelligent manufacturing, and tool wear prediction during their cutting process is essential for ensuring workpiece processing quality and efficiency. This study focuses on the tool wear prediction of milling process based on digital simulation. By combining Solidworks and Abaqus software, three-dimensional models of the cutting tool, tool holder fixture and workpiece are constructed, and multi-physical field dynamic simulation of the milling process is conducted. A tool wear prediction model is introduced to predict the milling tool wear by using the simulation results. The method is validated through experiments set up on a HAAS CNC machining center and demonstrates high accuracy, which effectively addresses the problem of predicting tool wear during machining. © 2023 IEEE.

The rapid advancement of industrial automation has underscored the significance of sophisticated control mechanisms for robotic manipulators, especially seven-axis manipulators, known for their flexibility and capability in handling complex tasks. Traditional control methods often struggle with adaptability and managing nonlinear, uncertain environments. To address these challenges, this paper proposes an adaptive imitation learning-based control strategy for seven-axis manipulators. First, the adaptive imitation learning algorithm is introduced and its applicability to manipulator control is analyzed. Then, a reinforcement learning based model of the seven-axis manipulator is established and simulated in a virtual environment to verify the algorithm's effectiveness. Finally, the limitations of the adaptive imitation learning algorithm in the context of manipulator control are discussed, and future research directions are outlined. This study not only offers a novel control strategy for seven-axis manipulators but also serves as a reference for the broader application of adaptive imitation learning algorithms in various domains. © 2024 IEEE.

Telepresence robots are a type of remote-controlled robot that are designed to provide an immersive and interactive experience for remote users. These robots can be controlled from a remote location, allowing the user to interact with the physical environment in real time. They are becoming increasingly popular in various fields, including healthcare, education, and remote collaboration. The University of technology Bahrain (UTB) has developed a telepresence robot to address a common issue faced by many students who are unable to visit the university for small tasks, such as seeking clarification from professors or checking on the status of requests at the registration department. The UTB Telepresence robot is designed to be controlled remotely via the Internet. With live video calling capabilities, users can easily navigate the robot and communicate seamlessly with university personnel. The robot's real-time control mechanism is facilitated by WebSocket technology, allowing for duplex communication between connected devices. Additionally, NodeMCU based on ESP8266 enables easy internet connectivity. The custom-built video calling application is developed using WebRTC technology, and the mechanical structure of the robot is designed using Fusion 360 and 3D printed to provide maximum design flexibility. The potential benefits of using telepresence robots include increased accessibility to remote locations, improved communication and collaboration among geographically dispersed individuals or teams, and enhanced learning experiences in online education. © 2023 IEEE.

A solar tracking system tracks the sun's movement in two directions, which is an effective method for enhancing the performance of solar panels. The design and execution of a dual-axis solar tracking system are presented in the report. To follow the sun's movement, the system makes use of an Arduino microcontroller, two servo motors, and light sensors. By contrasting the system's energy output with that of a fixed solar panel, the system's performance was assessed. According to the findings, the solar panel's energy output was enhanced by up to 30 percent using the dual-axis solar tracking system. Solar energy systems will experience considerable cost reductions as a result of this rise in energy production. The system's accuracy was also assessed, and it was discovered to precisely follow the sun's path throughout the day. This study included a number of design factors, such as choosing the right sensors and motors, designing the tracking system mechanically, and microcontroller programming. Dual-axis solar tracking systems' benefits and drawbacks, including their price, complexity, and upkeep needs, are also covered in the research. Overall, the study shows how a dual-axis solar tracking system can enhance the performance of solar panels. The device is a crucial tool for the solar energy sector since it can precisely follow the sun's motion and maximize energy production. In order to increase consumer access to dual-axis solar tracking systems, additional research may be done to improve the design and lower costs. © 2023 IEEE.

The impact of robotics technology can be seen in every aspect of our daily lives, both at work and at home. Robotics has the potential to revolutionize the way we live and work by increasing efficiency, improving safety, and providing better services. This paper presents a design and implementation of a sterilization robot at the University of technology Bahrain for research and practical purposes. The Sterilization Robot uses both ultraviolet sterilization and smoke sterilization techniques to sanitize rooms and corridors in various settings, such as classrooms, laboratories, and faculty offices. The robot is equipped with sensors, including color and ultrasonic sensors, to navigate and avoid obstacles during the sterilization process. It also includes a camera for remote monitoring of the process. The robot is controlled by four Lego Mindstorms robot inventor 51515 hubs that are connected via Bluetooth technology to transfer data between them and provide instructions and commands to control the robot. The design includes an air compressor and a tank with pressure and liquid level gauges, which help pump and control the flow of the sterilization solution. The use of the robot simplifies the sterilizing process, reduces the time required for sterilization, and is expected to be useful for various individuals and organizations. © 2023 IEEE.

For the characteristics and talent development goals of our school, OBE concept was introduced into engineering training teaching and applied in the teaching reform of the innovation practice course. This concept involves building a multi-disciplinary knowledge system based on the OBE concept, creating a teaching method of 'project-splitting, multi-point coexistence, and teacher-student dual-cycle cooperation', conducting an engineering education quality evaluation model based on CIPP which improves continuously. These efforts have significantly improved students' learning outcome. © 2023 IEEE.
