In this article we investigate the discrete-time model based control of a planar soft continuum manipulator with proprioceptive sensing provided by fiber Bragg gratings. A control algorithm is designed with a discrete-time energy shaping approach which is extended to account for control-related lag of digital nature. A discrete-time nonlinear observer is employed to estimate the uncertain bending stiffness of the manipulator and to compensate constant matched disturbances. Simulations and experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the controller compared to a continuous time implementation.

The massive volume of data generated by the rapid expansion of digital communication necessitates a sufficient degree of security and privacy. Big data analytics is demonstrated to be helpful in enhancing privacy and security of communications in one such study. The aim is to use advanced analytics to identify and mitigate security risks from large databases. In processing large-scale disorganized and structured or partially organized information, the major benefits of the proposed approach, BigData enabled Communication Security Protocol (BCSP), are cross-verified against an existing approach, Secured BigData Analyzer (SBA). Enhancing utilizing big data analytics, communication security is employed to analyze data obtained from a company's network, user behavior data, or even threat-related information. The data analyzed is then utilized to improve the digital communication security of the business using the conclusions the analysis produces. This study offers an integrated approach to security and privacy, including pre-processing and feature engineering, and presents a framework for designing effective machine learning systems that integrate data collecting.

Amine volatilization and degradation are important challenges in the development of nonaqueous biphasic solvents. A method is proposed to apply monoethanolamine (MEA) and aromatic amines (benzylamine (BZA) or N-methylbenzylamine (MBA)) to the development of novel nonaqueous biphasic solvents. The study found that the addition of MEA effectively solves the problem of the BZA-CO2 product being insoluble and the MBA-CO2 product having insufficient polarity. The CO2 products of aromatic amines exhibit low viscosity, requiring less dilution by organic solvents, which reduces unnecessary heating during CO2 regeneration and provides significant energy-saving benefits for the absorbent. Characterization by 13C NMR and DFT calculations show that the CO2 products of the absorbent exist in the form of carbamate/protonated amine. MBA is more prone to accept H protons from MEA+COO-, which is the main reason why MBA hinders BDMA from participating in the reaction. During the phase separation process in nonaqueous biphasic solvents, the MEA-CO2 product, through its own polarity and aggregation, creates favorable conditions for the separation of benzyldimethylamine (BDMA) from polar substances. Compared to 30 wt.% MEA, the two developed nonaqueous biphasic solvents exhibit low corrosivity and energy-saving characteristics, with estimated regeneration energies as low as 2.10 and 2.06 GJ/t (CO2), respectively. © 2024, The Authors. DKAMFormer: Domain knowledge-augmented multiscale transformer for remaining useful life prediction of aeroengine

Transformers have achieved promising results on aeroengine remaining useful life (RUL) prediction, but they still have several limitations: 1) Aeroengine domain knowledge, which contains rich information that can reflect the aeroengine's health statue, is largely ignored in modeling process;2) Traditional transformer ignores the valuable degradation information from other time scales. To address these issues, a novel domain knowledge-augmented multiscale transformer (DKAMFormer) is developed by integrating domain knowledge and multiscale learning to improve the prognostic performance and reliability. First, to obtain rich and professional aeroengine domain knowledge, multiple detail and complete knowledge graphs (KGs) are established based on the working principle of aeroengine, including aeroengine structure, components working characteristics and sensor parameters. Second, the domain knowledge contained in KGs is convert to embedded vector by KG representative learning, which are then utilized to strengthen and enrich the original multidimensional time-series (MTS) monitoring data, aiming to intergrade domain knowledge and monitoring data to train DKAMFormer. Third, to learn rich and complementary degradation features, a novel multiscale time scale-guided self-attention (MTSGSA) mechanism is designed, which maps original MTS into different time-scale feature spaces, and then employs multiple independent self-attention head to extract the degradation features from different time-scale spaces. Finally, through a series of comparative experiments on the public CMAPSS and N-CMAPSS datasets and compared with 17 SOTA methods, the developed DKAMFormer significantly improves the RUL prediction performance under multiple operation conditions and degradation modes. © 2014 Chinese Association of Automation.

The swift expansion of e-commerce has prompted the creation of advanced recommender systems to augment user experience and boost sales. Machine learning techniques have become fundamental for the development of these systems, allowing firms to provide tailored product recommendations based on customer preferences and habits. This research presents a thorough literature assessment of machine learning methodologies utilized in recommender systems, emphasizing their predictive efficacy in the e-commerce sector. We analyze essential methodologies, including collaborative filtering, content-based filtering, hybrid models, and sophisticated techniques such as deep learning. Through the examination of 38 research in the domain, we elucidate the limitations, advantages, and possibilities of machine learning algorithms in delivering precise and scalable suggestions. Our research indicates that hybrid models, which integrate many recommendation strategies, demonstrate significant potential in addressing challenges like the cold start problem and data sparsity. The report delineates prospective research avenues, underscoring the necessity for continued innovation in the integration of machine learning into recommender systems to improve accuracy and customer happiness in e-commerce settings.

Diabetes is a chronic metabolic disease that has effect on blood sugar level and affects millions of *** present an integrated flexible and reusable graphene-based field effect transistor(GFET)nanosensor for the detection of glucose using pyrene-1-boronic acid(PBA)as the *** nanosensor fabricated on the polyimide performs GFET-based rapid transduction of the glucose-PBA binding,thereby potentially allowing the detection of glucose that are sampled reliably from human bodily fluids(e.g.,sweat)in wearable sensing *** to the reversible binding interaction between PBA and glucose,reusability of our nanosensor can be realized by exposing graphene surface to acidic *** characterizing the stability and reusability of the nanosensor for wearable applications,we investigated the effects of substrate bending,multiple reuse and long-time storage on the equilibrium dissociation constant between the PBA and *** show that bending,multiple reuse(over 10 times)and long-time storage has negligible effect on the sensing *** detection of glucose with a limit of detection(LOD)of 0.15 μM and a dynamic range of 0.05-100 μM,which covers the reference scope of physical examination or screening of ***,our flexible GFET nanosensor is promising for wearable and reusable biosensing applications.

Diffusion models have demonstrated powerful data generation capabilities in various research fields such as image generation. However, in the field of vibration signal generation, the criteria for evaluating the quality of the generated signal are different from that of image generation and there is a fundamental difference between them. At present, there is no research on the ability of diffusion model to generate vibration signal. In this paper, a Time Series Diffusion Method (TSDM) is proposed for vibration signal generation, leveraging the foundational principles of diffusion models. The TSDM uses an improved U-net architecture with attention block, ResBlock and TimeEmbedding to effectively segment and extract features from one-dimensional time series data. It operates based on forward diffusion and reverse denoising processes for time-series generation. Experimental validation is conducted using single-frequency, multi-frequency datasets, and bearing fault datasets. The results show that TSDM can accurately generate the single-frequency and multi-frequency features in the time series and retain the basic frequency features for the diffusion generation results of the bearing fault series. It is also found that the original DDPM could not generate high quality vibration signals, but the improved U-net in TSDM, which applied the combination of attention block and ResBlock, could effectively improve the quality of vibration signal generation. Finally, TSDM is applied to the small sample fault diagnosis of three public bearing fault datasets, and the results show that the accuracy of small sample fault diagnosis of the three datasets is improved by 32.380%, 18.355% and 9.298% at most, respectively. © 2024, The Authors. Developing a simple scalable method to fabricate electrodes with high capacity and wide voltage range is desired for the real use of electrochemical ***,we synthesized amorphous NiCo-LDH nanosheets vertically aligned on activated carbon cloth substrate,which was in situ transformed from Co-metal-organic framework materials nano-columns by a simple ion exchange process at room *** to the amorphous and vertically aligned ultrathin structure of NiCo-LDH,the NiCo-LDH/activated carbon cloth composites present high areal capacities of 3770 and 1480 mF cm^(-2)as cathode and anode at 2 mA cm^(-2),and 79.5%and 80%capacity have been preserved at 50 mA cm^(-2).In the meantime,they all showed excellent cycling performance with negligible change after>10000 *** fabricating them into an asymmetric supercapacitor,the device achieves high energy densities(5.61 mWh cm^(-2)and 0.352 mW cm^(-3)).This work provides an innovative strategy for simplifying the design of supercapacitors as well as providing a new understanding of improving the rate capabilities/cycling stability of NiCo-LDH materials.

The current scenario is to achieve dimensional accuracy and surface finish of the casting components which is identified to be a difficult task. It can be achieved through lost foam casting process. This casting process eliminate the difficulties in design considerations of casting products. Lost foam casting process has provided the quality of components through flexible manner. It’s being used to create complex metal pieces with less production time. In this experimental investigation, aluminium 6082 and silicon is fabricated through lost foam casting method. During casting process, the different input constraints like pouring temperature, slurry viscosity and cooling time were considered. The tensile strength is evaluated for the fabricated specimens. Taguchi technique is applied to determine the optimal factor. The contribution of factor is confirmed through variance analysis. The effect of factor and its correlation were studied through interaction plot.

engineering education accreditation is an important measure to cultivate high-quality Innovative talents of Mechanical engineering, and to enhance the adaptability of professional talents to economic and social development. Taking major of Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and its Automation (MDMA) of Harbin Institute of technology (HIT) as an example, the criteria for the training of mechanical engineering professionals are discussed, based on the standards of engineering education professional accreditation. The training objectives for students were proposed based on engineering accreditation disciplines, and the curriculum system with consideration of project-based teaching and training modes was discussed. The importance of improvement mechanism for the engineering education efficiency and sustainability was analyzed.
