The bottleneck networks of the progression of vehicular traffic need an exhaustive cognizance and bits of knowledge of the factors that cause congestion, which characterizes the second and spot of traffic breakdown. The organization becomes clogged because of the rising number of vehicles out and about. Many exploration studies have been directed to resolve the issues. Functional examination, specifically the plan, investigation, and the board of the traffic stream dynamic, appears to esteem re-enactment and demonstrating to the connected difficulties. To reduce gridlock for a smooth and low-thickness traffic stream framework, this work focused on a reproduction model for vehicular traffic stream. Huge benefits, entrepreneurial skills, business strategies, and innovative concepts can be deployed towards environmentally friendly activities, resource efficiency, and circular economy. This paper examined entrepreneurship, business strategies and creative concepts towards waste management, resource recovery and circular economy. The methodology used includes literature reviews and checks on engineering facilities and systems for handling wastes for health and wealth. Various business ideas and innovative strategies were checked for possible implementation. The finding revealed that many resources have been wasted due to a lack of appropriate techniques for handling waste in most developed and developing nations of the world. There are a lot of opportunities and funding for research and capacity building in waste recycling. All aspects of entrepreneurship, business strategies, and innovative concepts related to resource recovery, waste management, and the circular economy must be welcomed. Although waste is a major issue worldwide, efforts are being made to develop strategies for using trash as a valuable resource. Among these is the conversion of garbage into biogas, power, and other useful resources. It was concluded that entrepreneurship, business strategies and innovative concepts can be adopted in most nations for adequate waste management, resource recovery and circular economy. Management skills, design of engineering facilities, public awareness, and public-private partnership with proper collaboration of various stakeholders are very essential in this regard. Adequate research, industrial input, manpower development, skill acquisitions, funding and notable academic input are needed to achieve potential business, resource recovery, circular economy and effective waste management.

Flexible sensor array has attracted widespread attention and brought many opportunities in future applications, such as electronic skin, human–machine interactions, and healthcare monitoring. In this study, we report the flexible triboelectric sensor array (TSA) with cross bar configurated sensing units for human-machine interaction. Bead-on-string sacrificial structure is fabricated by 3D printing directly and optimized based on experimental and numerical studies, and therefore affords excellent performance in constructing the electrode lines for TSA. With the especially patterning design and optimization, the number of data channels in TSA is reduced, and high output performance can be achieved effectively. Meanwhile, TSA platform exhibits excellent durability, reliability, waterproofness, and presents the ability in real-time sensing and locating of keystroke position and trajectory tracking. For application scenarios, a TSA-based intelligent digital controller is established for importer identification based on temporal perceiver network. We use this controller in robot manipulation to control gestures of both rigid manipulator and soft pneumatic actuator conveniently. The proposed TSA in this work opens a new route in promising applications in security identification, robot manipulation and artificial intelligence. © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Abstract—the outcome of oral surgery is dependent on precise preoperative planning. In order to properly plan for dental surgery or suitable implant placement, it is necessary for accurate segmentation of the jaw tissues: the teeth, the cortical bone, the trabecular core, and overall, the inferior alveolar nerve. Achieving 3D virtual surgical planning is very hard and is a major drawback because most of the existing jaw segmentation methods require a large amount of expert knowledge for manual or partially automatic segmentation. What is more, due to the lack of experienced doctors and experts, high-quality expert knowledge is hard to achieve in practice. Furthermore, metal artifacts and large variations in their shape and size among individuals influence the segmentation of the jaw in CBCT scans seriously. Therefore, this paper presents a new automatic jaw segmentation in CBCT scans dataset. This approach is divided into two main phases; the first phase adopts the use of image processing techniques to extract the region of interest (ROI) which is the area containing the jaws. It is an important phase as it prepares the 3D image data before using it in the second phase as it makes the training more efficient rather than training the model overall 3D head of CBCT scans. In the second phase, we use several models to segment each jaw separately and then gets a 3D segmentation view of both jaws. We implement such a segmentation approach on head CBCT scans given as Dicom Numpy files datasets and then evaluate the performance. Our proposed approach has been tested in a validation set that has been evaluated using Dice’s coefficient and the Attention Unet model achieved promising results with a 91

There has been substantial scientific experimental research undertaken with the aim of determining factors that contribute to club-head speed while few on effects of club-head speed on drives, irons shot and putts in the game of golf. However, analysis of club-head velocity for an effective greenside bunker shot has not, and identification of associated key features for evaluation to obtain performance index relative to professional golfers (PG). Data from twenty-two (22) golfing subjects were analyzed through mathematical model that was applied at club-head peak velocity. For an effective greenside bunker shot, results indicated that PG delivered very high club-head speed at impact, low handicap golfers (LHG) delivered high club-head speed while novice golfers (NG) had low club-head speed. Result also showed that optimized performance index (OPI) value increased as the golfer's handicap index increased dramatically relative to PG golfers. The result of this study may serve as a novelty to the scientific analysis of an effective greenside bunker shot peak velocity and identification of golfer's performance index for skills enhancement through proper training guidelines. © 2020 IEEE.

For the dynamic reconfiguration of the distribution network when distributed generation are connected to the distribution network, a dynamic reconfiguration model of distribution network with on-load tap-changing transformer and static var compensator is proposed. First, Monte Carlo simulation method is used to form curve of wind/photovoltaic power output. Then, a dynamic grid reconfiguration model is established with the goal of minimizing power loss and voltage distribution. And, an improved NSGA-II algorithm integrated with constraint handling technique is proposed to solve the model. Finally, take the IEEE 33-bus system as an example for simulation, and the results show that the model can reduce system operating costs while improving system power quality. © 2020 IEEE.

In this world of modern technology, restaurant owners have started introducing waiter robots to help serve guests. This paper presents the development of localization-based waiter robot by using RP-lidar as a sensor. In this work, we have introduced the RP Lidar which emits a laser beam to measure range and distance. RP Lidar maps the surroundings in Rviz for route planning and navigation. ROS Adaptive Monte-Carlo Localization is used in the ROS Melodic framework for positioning and planning robot paths. The results show that the robot can localize itself to approach the desired table, and the mapping is observed in Rviz.

In recent years, paper-based microfluidic chips have emerged as a promising microfluidic platform due to their simplicity, low cost, portability, and ease of fabrication. They have been applied in various fields such as biological analysis, environmental monitoring, and medical diagnostics. However, the current paper-based chips made of nitrocellulose membrane still can be improved in liquid flow rate control. To address these issues, a novel paper-based microfluidic chip is designed to control liquid in a wide time range, and the liquid delay and acceleration control are realized by laser cutting and knife crafting respectively. Microfluidic chip’s hydrophobic boundaries can be manufactured in a one-step process using laser cutting, taking less than 10 seconds. Additionally, the structural parameters of microgrooves, which have a significant impact on flow rate, can be precisely controlled using a scalpel-based cutting platform. This enables efficient and consistent microgroove processing. Furthermore, experimental optimization of laser cutting and knife crafting parameters is performed, along with an exploration of factors influencing the delay and acceleration effects in the chip structures. The effectiveness of these processing methods is validated through practical applications. In summary, this study realizes a wide time range fluid control in paper-based microfluidic chips, which can achieve delay and acceleration in the range of −57.8% to +828.3%, thus expanding the application range of paper-based microfluidic chips. © 2024, The Authors. Aim of the paper is to conduct a survey of the present market, focusing on the best-selling retrofit LED lamps and to analyze experimentally their fundamental EMC performance for subsequent classification of the LED drivers. Two stage experimental characterization testing approach is adopted. First, input current and output luminous flux in steady-state under nominal supply conditions is acquired. Next, transfer of input supply voltage interharmonics to output visible flicker components in terms of gain factor curves is obtained. Based on the achieved and discussed testing results, classification of the LED lamps is developed.

The term rapid prototyping technique (RPT) refers to the creation of physical parts directly from the CAD models. Designers may easily produce physical prototypes of their designs with these 3-dimensional prototype modelers. Nowadays, the RPT models are directly used for a variety of applications. RPT models require better strength and quality. Various custom designed underwater systems, robots, and UAVs are created, marketed, and used in a range of applications. It is also utilized to create smaller weaving loom components, medical equipment , and automation system casings. Various customized robots and UAV components are also created and deployed in weedicides or pesticide sprayers in agricultural fields. Although a relatively new technology, the SLA process has revolutionized in the domains of part manufacturing and production, research, and development. In this investigation, the prototype was created with ABS Plastic (Accura-60) material. The experimentation is carried out to find and optimize the Stereolithography (SLA) design process parameters to attain higher load-carrying capacities with Accura-60 prototypes. For tensile testing of plastics and polymer materials, ASTM D638 standard specimen profiles are used. The Type I specimen from ASTM D638, which has 5 different types of specimens, is utilized for ABS Plastic prototypes. The design of experiments investigates the variations in the process parameters and their impact on breaking and tensile strength . Hatch angle, Layer thickness, and hatch spacing are taken for the investigation process. These experiments are conducted to investigate optimum process parameters to achieve better tensile strength and breaking strength for Accura-60 prototypes. In this paper, an effort to optimize and control the Stereolithography process parameters for high breaking strength and surface finish has been made.
