This paper presents the control techniques used for 9-Phase Voltage Source Inverter. For high power application the 9-phase inverter fed 9-phase drives dominantly used. In the proposed work a comprehensive relationship between the 9-phase SPWM, 9th harmonic injection technique and 9-phase modified SVPWM technique are presented. The simulation study of the 9-phase voltage source inverter is investigated with the above said switching methods with varying modulation indices. The MATLAB /Simulink results are addressed for varying modulation indices and analysis the results in terms of output phase voltage and total harmonic distortion. From the results find the optimum method is appropriate for 9-phase VSI. © 2021 IEEE.

In this paper, we introduce an adaptive estimation method for quantized nonlinear cascade system using moving window theory. Firstly, by force of the sub-decomposition technique, the considered system is transformed to a regression model without product term, in which the computational complexity is reduced. Secondly, by developing a moving window, the moving window output and moving window observation data are constructed, in which the estimation accuracy is lifted. Then, based on moving data, a filter is introduced to filter noise data, and to improve the bias estimation issue. Thirdly, by designing the forcing variables with adaptive attenuation coefficient, the estimation error data can be got which is used to develop estimator, in which it gives an optional scheme to design the adaptive estimator compared with the prediction error and observation error criterion. Finally, the example results demonstrate that the developed method is effective to achieve the parameter estimation for quantized nonlinear cascade system, and the has better performance compared with some estimators in term of estimation precision and convergence rate. © 2022 IEEE.

Halbach array has unilateral magnetic effect, so the eccentric harmonic magnetic gear (EHMG) with Halbach array has higher torque density than the traditional EHMG with radial magnetization. An exact analytical model for the air-gap magnetic field of EHMG with Halbach array based on hyperbolic cotangent transformation is proposed. The relative permeability function is solved and used to correct the air-gap magnetic field caused by the stator and rotor permanent magnets acting separately when concentric. The analytical solution of the air-gap magnetic field of EHMG with Halbach array is obtained by superposition of the corrected eccentric air-gap magnetic field. The static torque of low-speed inner rotor is calculated by Maxwell tensor method. The analytical solutions of the air-gap magnetic field and the static torque are consistent with the finite element solutions, which verifies the effectiveness and correctness of the analytical model.

Due to the wide deployment of photovoltaic (PV) power generation, voltage stability is facing a severe challenge in the active distribution networks (ADNs). Reinforcement Learning (RL) techniques have been widely adopted in the power system optimal operation and quick control with high-performance achievements. Existing RL algorithms can handle only homogenous control action spaces, i.e., either continuous or discrete actions. However, the voltage control problem has hybrid action spaces. This paper proposes a hybrid soft actor-critic (H-SAC) algorithm for online quick-optimal voltage control. First, the problem is formulated to consider all types of control actions, including the setpoints of PV inverters. Second, it is standardized to be compatible with RL techniques. Third, the fundamental sample-efficient entropy-based maximization SAC algorithm is enhanced to train a policy with hybrid action spaces, where an action selection method is employed to map the continuous output of the actor-network into the integer action spaces. The proposed method is applied to the modified IEEE 33-bus system, where the voltage has been controlled with a very low computational burden.

This paper focuses on the tracking control problem for switched nonlinear ship maneuvering time-delay systems with only a heading angle available by adaptive neural network (NN) output feedback. Using the backstepping method, an adaptive NN control mechanism is designed to solve the problem cooperated with the state observer. The uncertain terms of the system are approximated by NNs, and the state observer is designed to estimate the yaw rate and rudder angle. The unknown time delays are overcome by exploiting the common Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals (CLKFs). Combined with error transformation, the proposed control method guarantees that i) all of the signals for the system are semi-global uniformly ultimately boundedness (SGUUB) under arbitrary switching;and, ii) the tracking error of system output keeps within a small neighborhood around the origin. The results of simulation results are shown to demonstrate the feasibility of the control strategy. © 2022 IEEE.

With the rapid development of additive manufacturing (AM), applying this technology to the fabrication of structural components for motors has received widespread attention. The low slot fill factor and low thermal conductivity of traditionally-manufactured windings prevent further improvements of motor performance. Therefore, this paper proposes two concentrated winding structures with variable cross-sectional area based on AM that can significantly improve the slot fill factor. The realisation of high slot fill factor greatly improves the output performance of the motor. However, the design of the variable cross-sectional area also increases the sensitivity of the winding losses to frequency variations. On this basis, the temperature rise modelling method and temperature rise distribution of AM windings are discussed, taking into account the special structure of AM windings. The above characteristics have also been compared with traditional windings.

With the advancement of computer computing power, most of the current SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) algorithms use graph optimization to build graphs. The key to graph optimization is to establish nodes and edges, that is keyframes and pose constraints. However, most algorithms still use heuristic methods to determine whether to establish new keyframes. This method usually creates redundant keyframes, adding invalid nodes to the graph optimization process, which results in lower efficiency of back-end optimization. Moreover, the frequent creation of keyframes leads to the need for frequent updates to the local map in front-end point cloud matching, reducing its efficiency. In this paper, we introduce an information-theoretic method for deciding when to generate new keyframes and optimizing updates to the local map for better front-end point cloud matching. Specifically, we calculate the information entropy of each point cloud matching pose. Once it reaches the set threshold, it indicates that the previous local map does not provide sufficient information for point cloud matching, which necessitates the establishment of a new keyframe. The local map is also updated immediately. This proposed method can establish keyframes with sufficient information and improve the accuracy of point cloud matching in the public dataset evaluation.

A Two-Stage Resilient Control Strategy for Transient Stability Enhancement of Coastal Ac/Mtdc Grid Under Typhoon Extreme Weather

As global warming is getting worse, more frequent and more intense typhoon extreme weather events have unfolded around the world. Typhoon will undoubtedly lead to serious N-k contingency of coastal AC/multi-terminal high voltage dc (MTDC) power grid, following a large possibility of transient instability. To address this problem, this paper develops a novel two-stage resilient control strategy. In the first stage, we propose a smooth transition model to reschedule power generations, considering security constraint and demand-supply balance. In the second stage, an active power modulation method of modular multi-level converters (MMC) based on model predictive control is proposed to ensure the transient stability of coastal AC/MTDC grid. The proposed control strategy makes full use of the flexible control resources of MMC-MTDC, thereby increasing the transient stability margin of coastal AC/MTDC grid and preventing subsequent N-k-1 contingencies. The usefulness of the proposed control strategy is highlighted on two hybrid power systems built on MATMTDC, a MATLAB based open source software. The obtained results demonstrate that the two-stage control strategy is capable for improving the transient stability of coastal AC/MTDC power system when suffering a typhoon event. © 2022, The Authors.
