A generalized frequency converter has been realized which makes use of a cyclo-converter in newer form AC-AC converter. An attempt has been made to operate this converter both in a conventional low frequency AC-AC converter and a new high frequency AC-AC converter. The ability to directly affect the frequency conversion of power without any intermediate stage involving DC power is a huge advantage of the system. The output of this converter has a frequency either f o = f i × N r or f o = f i /N r . where N r is an integer and f i is the source frequency. A methodology is developed to generate the required trigger signal for any integer multiple/sub multiple of the output frequency. The undesirable harmonic components in the output of the frequency converter have been minimized using four modulation techniques namely; sinusoidal pulse width modulation (SPWM), delta modulation (DM), trapezoidal modulation (TM) and space vector modulation (SVM) technique. The converter is simulated using well known software package MATLAB. Comparative simulation analysis is presented for a single phase frequency converter (SPFC) topology with all these modulation techniques when the converter is operating both step up as well as for step down mode.

Novel security detection technology are needed to meet the growing demand of subway operation. In this paper, an improved faulting detection algorithm for subway tunnel segment is proposed. A combined denoising technique is used to convert the depth image of faulting acquired by Kinect into binary image of the height difference which can be processed by digital image. The obvious advantage of this method is that it can avoid the interference of environmental light and improve the detection speed. In addition, we focus on how to classify and identify different types of faulting line based on the idea of deep learning algorithm. And a fast CNN (convolution neural network) has been built to classify and identify faulting line. Finally, it shows that the proposed algorithm is effective through the experimental data.

In this paper, we first propose a control law for synchronization of multi-agent systems in Special Euclidean group SE(3). Then, as an extension of the proposed synchronization algorithm, we propose another control algorithm for the same task without using velocity measurement. It will be shown that the synchronization can be enabled on the basis of an auxiliary dynamic system and double integrated consensus algorithm. Additionally, to overcome the disadvantage of the Euler angles, we use a quaternion. Using the Lyapunov stability analysis, we can verify that the proposed algorithms could ensure the synchronization in the attitude and position as well as in angular and linear velocities. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of theoretical results.

The incidence pattern of vulnerable road user (VRU) injury is modified by the transport infrastructure on the ground. Recent improvements in modelling capability introduce the possibility of evaluating performance of safety measures by incorporating a distribution instead of a single standardized test. The question addressed in this work is to estimate the probability distribution of crash initiation modes based on post-crash observations. A multi-body simulation based approach of using adaptive Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) sampling techniques implemented in statistical software "R" has been used. The two input variables under study were location of VRU along the lateral axis in front of vehicle and shape of vehicle front. The observed output was the locations of head hits on vehicle front profile. Simulation studies on VRU head crash locations from the German In-depth Accident Study (GIDAS) with the severity of injury and the crash vehicle details have been used. These converge to a distribution with mean around the center plane of the vehicle with spread of around 30 cm in one standard deviation.
