An outbreak of foodborne pathogens would cause severe consequences. Detecting and diagnosing food-borne diseases is crucial for food safety, and it is increasingly important to develop fast, sensitive, and cost-effective methods for detecting foodborne pathogens. In contrast to traditional methods, such as medium-based culture, nucleic acid amplification test, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, electrochemical biosensors possess the advantages of simplicity, rapidity, high sensitivity, miniaturization, and low cost, making them ideal for developing pathogen-sensing devices. The biorecognition layer, consisting of recognition elements, such as aptamers, antibodies and bacteriophages, and other biomolecules or polymers, is the most critical component to determine the selectivity, specificity, reproducibility, and lifetime of a biosensor when detecting pathogens in a biosample. Furthermore, nanomaterials have been frequently used to improve electrochemical biosensors for sensitively detecting foodborne pathogens due to their high conductivity, surface-to-volume ratio, and electrocatalytic activity. In this review, we survey the characteristics of biorecognition elements and nanomaterials in constructing electrochemical biosensors applicable for detecting foodborne pathogens during the past five years. As well as the challenges and opportunities of electrochemical biosensors in the application of foodborne pathogen detection are discussed. © 2024 by Begell House, Inc. ***.

development of high-precision RGB patterning process is needed to implement high-resolution micro display (OLEDoS) for nextgeneration VR/AR products. In general, specially designed and manufactured masks are required to realize above 3,000ppi highresolution display in structured OLED material deposition. In this study, we implemented direct laser patterning IR-fs optical system operating in MHz and GHz burst modes and evaluated its capability for precise micro-drilling of alumino-borosilicate glass materials. The fine hole-shaped pattern is produced at a minimum of 5μm pitch level for about 0.6 inch area without sacrificing the glass strength. It is expected to contribute to the high precise manufacture of ultra fine mask (UFM) using thin glass platform corresponding to micro displays in the future. © 2024, John Wiley and Sons Inc. High inverter efficiency is one of the main aspects in power electronics to improve electric transportation systems. Higher DC-link voltages of electric vehicles are an instrument to reduce losses and charging time. Therefore, three-level topologies like the ANPC inverter are becoming more suitable since they allow the use of lower voltage semiconductors at high DC-link voltages in combination with other advantages like lower THD and fault tolerance. Nevertheless, the ANPC topology has the disadvantage of unequally distributed semiconductor losses. This holds the potential of different optimisation strategies, which influence the behaviour of the inverter. This paper discusses and analyses the most promising optimisation principles concerning their capability to equalise the loss distribution and to increase the starting torque. © VDE VERLAG GMBH, Berlin, Offenbach.

Malignant tumors of the pancreas are the fourth leading cause of cancer-related deaths. This is mainly because they are often diagnosed at a late stage. One of the challenges in diagnosing focal lesions in the pancreas is the difficulty in distinguishing them from other conditions due to the unique location and anatomy of the organ, as well as the similarity in their ultrasound characteristics. One of the most sensitive imaging modalities of the pancreas is endoscopic ultrasonography. However, clinicians recognize that EUS is a difficult and highly operator-dependent method, while its results are highly dependent on the experience of the investigator. Hybrid technologies based on artificial intelligence methods can improve the accuracy and objectify the results of endosonographic diagnostics. Endoscopic ultrasonogra-phy was performed on 272 patients with focal lesions of the pancreatobiliary zone, who had been treated in the surgical section of the Kursk Regional Clinical Hospital in 2014–2023. The study utilized an Olympus EVIS EXERA II video information endoscopic system, along with an EU-ME1 ultrasound unit equipped with GF UM160 and GF UC140P-AL5 echo endoscopes. Out of the focal formations in the pancreatobiliary zone, pancreatic cancer was detected in 109 patients, accounting for 40.1% of the cases. Additionally, 40 patients (14.7%) were diagnosed with local forms of chronic pan-creatitis. The reference sonograms displayed distinguishable focal pancreatic pathologies, leading to the development of hybrid fuzzy mathematical decision-making rules at the South-West State University in Kursk, Russian Federation. This research resulted in the creation of a fuzzy hybrid model for the differential diagnosis of chronic focal pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. The shop floors require material, machinery, equipment and tools, information technology, quality control, storeroom, manpower resources for manufacturing of intermediate or final product and inventory management. In this study, an automated logistics and inventory management system was developed for shop floors to improve the production efficiency. A sensing system was developed based on the framework of Internet of things (IoT) to collect the information of copper-aluminum strip and polyvinyl chloride both in the storage room and manufacturing area, and an expert system was developed to automatically conduct inventory management based on the established rules. The experimental results showed that a large amount of working time is reduced, improving efficiency in manufacturing industries. The proposed system can reduce the time of recording data and also assist the manager in configuring and managing material orders.

The implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) can enhance the operational efficiency of the telecommunication industry including the mobile network operational centres (NOC). This study employs a systematic literature review (SLR) to probe the impact of TQM on telecommunications and network operations centres (NOC) in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions. Literature is reviewed using keywords and relevant articles are selected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria and a total of 50 articles were reviewed after the implementation of the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Thereafter, a TQM framework is developed for the NOC department, focusing on fault management of 5G transmission faults. This helps gain insights into TQM in a telecommunication NOC. It reveals what TQM tools, principles and methods that can be incorporated in the NOC for fault management of 5G transmission faults. © 2024 IEEE.

A secure biometric palm authentication system provides a systematic and logical method for identifying individuals using the unique ridges visible on their palms. Palm prints offer a more reliable and safer alternative to conventional verification methods such as passwords or PIN numbers, which can be easily forgotten, stolen, or shared. The principal lines and creases of palm prints are rich global features essential for precision authentication. This study explores the development of a logical authentication system using palm print evaluation strategy based on neural classification logic. The proposed system leverages the unique and complex patterns of palm prints to achieve high accuracy in identity verification. Utilizing a Hybrid Neural Network Model (HNNM) combining Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs), and Support Vector Machines (SVMs), the system demonstrates superior performance metrics. The model achieves an accuracy of 97.5%, precision of 97.2%, and recall of 97.3%, indicating its robustness and reliability. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents human pose estimation using millimeter-wave (mmWave) radar technology capable of penetrating obstacles. Operating within the frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) at 60 - 64 GHz, our radar system generates signals conducive to accurate human pose representation. Our data processing framework focuses on producing point cloud data, effectively capturing each human movement. Results are visualized through a 2D graph, with the z-axis representing time. Experimental data, collected from various activities conducted behind different walls, underwent thorough analysis, comparing point cloud positions with actual human postures. The outcomes affirm the effectiveness of mmWave radar systems, positioned behind obstacles, in accurately extracting human postures. © 2024 IEEE.

Cutting stock problem is a problem generally encountered in many manufacturing industries such as the furniture, clothing, glass production, leather, paper, textile, metals industries amongst others most especially during mass production. The problem usually arises during roll slitting whereby a large role is to be cut into smaller pieces. The challenge may be further compounded due to constraints and different variants that arises from product customization, process and machinery as well as customer requirements and quality issues. To address this problem, this study develops a linear integer programming technique and provides a practical guided approach. First mathematical formulation (having objective function and constraints) comprising of a list of q orders, that requires p j pieces was formulated and a list of all possible cuts combination of configuration and patterns were derived. The linear integer program was solved in the MATLAB 2022 environment. The results indicated that the large rolls can be cut into the desired length, number, patterns and configuration in a time effective manner using the developed linear integer programming technique. The results further show that for the total wastes generated was 24 for the optimal solutions. This number of wastes can be considered to be minimal considering the volume of demand and patterns generated from the stock material. Furthermore, 6 out of the 7 pattern optimal solutions generated zero waste. This study provides theoretical and empirical findings that can assist the manufacturing industries in minimizing time and cost variables while addressing stock cutting problems. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.. Hardware resource management in a hybrid IT infrastructure combines the management of public cloud resources with the management of private cloud resources that are most often owned in the organization's on-premises infrastructure. According to the IBM Transformation Index, approximately 77% of organizations have adopted a hybrid IT infrastructure in the cloud. Hybrid cloud infrastructure combines the 3 types of IT infrastructures, namely: the organization's on-premises IT infrastructure, the IT infrastructure that forms the organization's private cloud, and the public cloud that is made available by cloud service providers. This combination of IT infrastructures comes with different challenges in terms of security, hardware and software compatibility, connectivity, and interoperability, all of which are managed by the IT team. Public cloud is easier to manage than private cloud because cloud service providers take care of the maintenance of the hardware infrastructure and provide services through which users can manage the infrastructure at the level of processing, storage, memory, etc. resources. but offers less control on the security side. The management of the hardware resources to which an organization has access is important in view of the fact that this environment can accommodate different services and applications that quickly circulate data between on-premises systems and the public or private cloud and that make different services of the organization available to internal and external users.
