This paper experimentally demonstrates the through wall sensing to detect human movement using a mmwave FMCW radar operating in the 60 GHz to 64 GHz band. The mmWave radar data processing framework focuses on the generation of point cloud data. Each human movement is illustrated with point cloud data, whose represents the position and orientation of pose, usually in 3D-cartesian coordinate system. In experiments, point cloud data from sensing through two different walls were collected for three activities into a 3 m by 3 m room. The data was analyzed through a comparison between the position of point cloud data and the position of the actual posture movement. The results prove that a mmWave radar placed behind the wall of the room is suitable for human detection and tracking in indoor environments, in terms of consistency with the actual posture. . ©2023 IEEE.

Using its pneumatic suction cups, this little window climbing robot should be able to clean and wash a pretty big area of outdoor office windows on high-rise buildings without human intervention. The robot will autonomously clean the room's windows in a predetermined pattern after being manually connected to the outer surface of the window. This study presents the results of an investigation into the potential of a robot called the Modular Glass Cleaning Robot (MGCR) to aid in the cleaning process. The suggested scheme's efficacy will be assessed by cross-validating it with the standard model known as the Conventional Glass Cleaning Robot (CGCR). One kind of robot that has recently evolved is the window cleaner. No matter the size of your building, this robot can find a job here. The primary objective is to develop a robot capable of swiftly and effectively cleaning glass windows, regardless of the location's inherent dangers. Hubbot, a robotic structure, is developed by this system. A combination of linear and rotational movements, as well as the ability to extend and retract the legs and avoid obstacles, will be accomplished. Its construction is both basic and lightweight. To simplify things, instead of a multi-joint legged moving structure, we'll see a hub and a few symmetrical legs. From a weight-saving standpoint, a hanging, reversible motor drives a rack and pinion gear. Furthermore, three distinct bearing configurations demonstrate a structural optimization of the rotating mechanism. Finding the optimal one that both keeps the robot's cost down and guarantees the shaft's stiffness is the goal. Lastly, the exploded picture of the entire structure is provided, along with a functional embodiment design that includes three mechanisms: adhesion, actuation, and movement. The present paper builds upon the novel, graphical method that we have introduced [V.-F. Duma, A. Schitea, Proc. of the Romanian Acad. Series A 19, 53-60, 2018] and developed [V.-F. Duma, A-L. Dimb, Applied Sciences 11, 8451, 2021] in order to study laser scanning with Risley prisms. An advantage of these scanning systems (and modality) is speed, while its main issue concerns the non-linearity of the generated scan patterns. The advantages of the proposed graphical method are that it provides (simulated) exact scan patterns (in contrast to the most utilized approximate methods) and that it is fast and easy to use (in contrast to rather complicated analytical methods). An essential aspect is highlighted in the present work regarding the functioning of the most common scanner with such components, i.e. with a pair of rotational Risley prisms. Thus, we approach the symmetries of generated scan patterns, presenting results that we recently obtained in [AL. Dimb, V.-F. Duma, Symmetry 15, 336, 2023]. Several aspects have been determined, starting with the number of symmetry axes. A novel notion, of structures of symmetry was proposed and developed. We showed how it is possible to generate (with high resolution) only a (small) part of the scan pattern, and further on to reproduce the entire pattern by using symmetries, including by (simply) rotating one of the proposed structures of symmetry. These were optimally defined and utilized in order to simplify the process of generating scan patterns for an increase in their resolution and/or a decrease in the simulation time. Characteristic geometrical aspects of the scan patterns have been determined, as well. Future directions of work to advance the domain are discussed. © 2024 SPIE.

In the modern world, drones are growing into flexible tools, capable of performing diverse jobs such as security, transportation, and data gathering. Many of these uses are designed for indoor settings, covering industry sites, workshops, and buildings. This study attempts to present a new tool for the efficient control of drones within the indoor environment. The suggested system sees the coordination of helicopters akin to a the internet about Things (IoT) model, containing sensors and controllers. This platform works on a network linking drones that interact with a single computer. Users can easily handle and watch drones by way of a web application, allowing the creation of complex flight plans and getting access to real-time data collected by sensors. Aided by a wireless network, drones remain in constant contact with the computer through UDP messages. The user-friendly application enables individuals to develop and save flight arrangements, subsequently sending them to linked drones. The flexibility of this platform stretches to various applications in industry, allowing for the inclusion of special sensors (e.g., gas, humidity, radiation) or motors such as grasping devices and carriers on drones, further increasing its usefulness in diverse contexts. © 2024 IEEE.

This article is concerned with adaptive event-triggered dissipative filtering for delayed T-S fuzzy systems via fuzzy Lyapunov functions. Firstly, a new event-triggered scheme with an adaptive threshold for delayed T-S fuzzy systems is proposed, and it can alleviate the data transmission burden of communication channels while ensuring the desired control performance. Secondly, the filtering error system is modeled as a delayed T-S fuzzy system by employing the time-delay system modeling method. Thirdly, a suitable augmented Lyapunov functional involving the fuzzy line-integral Lyapunov function is presented. Compared with the existing functions, this augmented Lyapunov functional takes the time derivative information of the membership function into account more fully. By using the Lyapunov method, the asymptotically stability and strictly $(\wp ,\Re ,\mathfrak{H}) - \alpha $ dissipativity of the considered T-S fuzzy system can be ensured. In addition, the adaptive event trigger weight matrix and the suitable dissipative filters can be obtained by solving some linear matrix inequalities(LMIs). Finally, a numerical example is presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method.

The objective of this investigation is to assess the effect of obstacles on numerical heat transfer and fluid flow momentum in a rectangular microchannel(MC).Two distinct configurations were studied:one without obstacles and the other with alternating obstacles placed on the upper and lower *** research utilized the thermal lattice Boltzmann method(LBM),which solves the energy and momentum equations of fluids with the BGK approximation,implemented in a Python coding *** jump and slip velocity conditions were utilized in the simulation for the MC and extended to all obstacle *** study aims to analyze the rarefaction effect,with Knudsen numbers(Kn)of 0.012,0.02,and *** outcomes indicate that rarefaction has a significant impact on the velocity and temperature *** presence of nine obstacles led to slower fluid movement inside the microchannel MC,resulting in faster cooling at the *** MCs with obstacles,the rarefaction effect plays a crucial role in decreasing the Nusselt number(Nu)and skin friction coefficient(Cf).Furthermore,the study demonstrated that the obstacles played a crucial role in boosting fluid flow and heat transfer in the *** findings suggest that the examined configurations could have potential applications as cooling technologies in micro-electro-mechanical systems and microdevice applications.

In current military and private spheres, the demand for exact localization within the home of mobile agents, especially small unmanned aircraft (UAVs), has attracted significant attention. This paper shows a new method to indoor UAV localization using Ultra-WideBand technology, combined with a cost-effective Motion Measurement Unit (IMU) while vision-based devices. A vital improvement to the positioning process is brought through the inclusion of an additional Kalman filter (EKF). The utilization of an inexpensive and low-cost IMU with the modeling phase, paired with the inclusion of vision odometer measurements for identifying marks in the closeness of the landing area, forms a key aspect of this method. The addition of range data plays a key role in reducing mistakes affiliated with the limited capabilities of gyroscopes and accelerometers, which are inherent in inertial devices. By deploying these multi-modal technologies that the suggested approach achieves a surprising level of precision, with data showing an amazing precision equal to 10 centimeters. This development holds potential for improving the operating effectiveness of small UAVs in indoor settings, offering a robust solution that joins Ultra-WideBand technology, IMU, while vision-based sensors throughout the framework of an Extension Kalman Filter. © 2024 IEEE.

The article is devoted to the study of the flow and structure of aerated liquids. The main methods for determining the rheological parameters of gas-liquid mixtures, the gas phase of which is nitrogen, are considered. This type of mixture is widely used in the oil and gas industry for current repair and overhaul of wells, when the formation pressure is less than the hydrostatic liquid column in the well. The mathematical model for calculating the hydraulic losses of a gas-liquid nitrided mixture, which consists of Newtonian media of water and gaseous nitrogen, is considered. It is noted that, despite the Newtonian properties of the media, the resulting nitrided liquid is described by the non-Newtonian model, namely the Bingham liquid model. The calculation of the determination of the liquid hydrostatic column at the well bottom during the flow of this type of mixture is presented. Functions for determining the coefficient of hydraulic losses and plastic viscosity of the mixture at a gas content less than 0.52 were obtained based on the obtained experimental data on the nitrided mixture flow through a coiled tubing pipe at different operating modes of the pumping and nitrogen units. © 2024, Cefin Publishing House. The ability of PMUs to provide precise, synchronized readings of voltage, current and frequency has made them valuable for the observation of microgrids. In some microgrids, PMU s are utilized without a current transformer and only measure voltage phasor values. This research outlines a procedure to use μPMU (or micro-PMU) voltage readings to ascertain electric loads or photovoltaic (PV) production through gauging power flow (PF). The results of a study conducted at the Federal University of Paraná's Polytechnic School (UFPR) in Brazil demonstrated that utilizing the power flow calculated by a 'virtual CT' approach, as measured by a standard power meter and with a higher time resolution from a microPMU, is a reliable and efficient method for recognizing events, monitoring PV generation, and non-intrusively monitoring load (NILM). © 2024 IEEE.
