With the rapid advancement of information technology, the modern battlefield is characterized by a highly complex electromagnetic environment. Radar radiation sources exhibit wide-ranging parameter variations and strong random characteristics, presenting formidable challenges to the signal selection of radar radiation sources in missile-borne countermeasure systems. This paper addresses the issue of reliable identification and selection of radar source signals by on-board countermeasures systems. Through the analysis of source signal characteristics, the Smooth Pseudo Wigner-Ville Distribution (SPWVD) method is employed for time-frequency analysis to extract the time-frequency features of the source signals. Furthermore, a lightweight network based on SqueezeNet is implemented to achieve high-precision source signal selection. The results demonstrate that, when the SNR of the source signals is greater than 0dB, the network model achieves a recognition accuracy above 94.59%. The selection accuracy is comparable to that of the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), thereby meeting the requirements of on-board countermeasure systems for reliable selection of radar source signals. The analysis confirms that under low signal-to-noise ratio conditions, noise significantly affects the network's selection accuracy by impacting the time-frequency clarity of the modulation signals. © 2023 SPIE.

The introduction of the three-phase dual-purpose dc-ac/dc power converter (PC), a recent addition to the universal converter family, holds significant promise for improving the reliability and flexibility of modern microgrids (MGs). This paper presents a novel energy management strategy for a flexible hybrid ac/dc MG architecture featuring dual-purpose dc-ac/dc power converters. These converters offer the capability of both dc/ac and dc/dc power conversion, allowing for connection to either the ac bus or the dc bus through simple reconfiguration, thereby providing enhanced modularity and operational adaptability to various MG conditions. Leveraging model-free reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms, the proposed strategy optimizes the operation mode of the dual-purpose converters to minimize the interlinking converter utilization based on historical MG operational data. The feasibility of the proposed MG architecture and the performance of the RL-based energy management strategy are verified by simulation results. © 2024 IEEE.

The largest theoretical impact of the circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) discovery is a non-invasive liquid biopsy which could substitute surgical tumour biopsy. This work describes the numerical simulation of ctDNA extraction and separation from the blood plasma of stage I and II cancer patients using superparamagnetic bead particles in a microfluidic platform. The ctDNA extraction and separation have great importance in early detection of cancer, especially in identifying precision medicine that can be prescribed. An average 5.7 ng of circulating tumor DNA was separated efficiently for every 10 µL blood plasma input based on the simulation result from the model using the COMSOL Multiphysics 5.3a software tool. The result provides a highly valuable tool for early evaluation of cancer management. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Microgrid optimization scheduling, a pivotal facet of intelligent grid optimization, is crucial in curbing energy consumption, mitigating environmental degradation, and trimming user electricity expenses. The overarching aim of microgrids extends beyond mere power supply adequacy to encompass enhanced economic viability and environmental sustainability. Hence, this study sets forth a multi-objective optimization scheduling paradigm tailored for microgrids operating in islanded mode. This framework holistically integrates the operational costs and environmental impact considerations of microgrid systems. The constellation of distributed generation assets within microgrid systems encompasses photovoltaic arrays, wind turbines, diesel engines, microturbines, and batteries. To effectively tackle the proposed optimization conundrum, an enhanced jellyfish search algorithm is posited in alignment with the structural nuances and attributes of the model. Two distinct operation scheduling strategies are scrutinized, and their scheduling outcomes are deliberated across varied optimization objectives. Simulation outcomes underscore the model's efficacy and supremacy in curtailing user electricity expenditures, decreasing environmental pollution, and fostering the optimized operation of microgrids. © 2024 IEEE.

The feedback-based algorithm for quantum optimization (FALQON) has recently been proposed to find ground states of Hamiltonians and solve quadratic unconstrained binary optimization problems. This paper efficiently generalizes FALQON to tackle quadratic constrained binary optimization (QCBO) problems. For this purpose, we introduce a new operator that encodes the problem’s solution as its ground state. Using control theory, we design a quantum control system such that the state converges to the ground state of this operator. When applied to the QCBO problem, we show that our proposed algorithm saves computational resources by reducing the depth of the quantum circuit and can perform better than FALQON. The effectiveness of our proposed algorithm is further illustrated through numerical simulations. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Micro-holes play an important role in interconnecting different signal layers of printed circuit boards(PCBs), and their surface quality is critical to signal transmission performance. As an important parameter, drilling force affecting the quality of micro-holes, but its distribution is difficult to obtain because the size of micro-holes is tiny and the drilling process is usually in a semi-closed state. Therefore, simulation of the micro-hole drilling process is studied by Abaqus in this paper. The material of printed circuit board can be regarded as laminated material composed of glass fiber composite and copper foil. The whole simulation process is the simulation of alternating drilling of the two materials. Via simulation, the influence of different drill parameters and processing parameters on the output drilling stress, axial force and drilling quality is obtained, and the results are consistent with the experimental results in the literature. This simulation method can be used as a supplement to the experiment and can provide guidance for the drilling process of printed circuit boards. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This brief review reports the recent advancement of metallic glasses and metallic glass nanostructures for functional electrocatalytic applications. Metallic glasses(MGs) or amorphous metals result from quenching the melts at a high cooling rate(e.g.,10^(6)K/s), bypassing crystallization. Metallic glasses are devoid of long-range translational order, no defects like grain boundaries, and multiple elements included. Due to these unique structural features, MG s show distinct and valuable mechanical, physical and chemical properties and therefore were widely studied as a structural material for decades. Even though MGs were proposed for catalytic applications earlier, a comprehensive study or attempt to apply these materials successfully in electrocatalytic applications are few since the intrinsic surface area is comparably lesser. A rejuvenated interest among the research community for applying various novel strategies in catalytic applications of MGs is highlighted in the present review. Theoretical approaches using density functional theory(DFT) and high-throughput screening assisted with machine learning paradigm advances the discovery of new MGs, which demonstrated high potential for catalytic applications. We focus on the basic features and recent advances in the MGs for catalytic applications like electrocatalytic water splitting reactions like HER, OER, fuel cell reactions like ORR, alcohol oxidation reactions like MOR, EOR,and degradation of harmful organic dyes from the industrial effluents. The presently advancing strategies for enhancing the performance of these metallic glass electrocatalysts through nanostructuring and high-throughput screening are discussed. The unique atomic-scale structural mechanism of the metallic glasses, which can favor the development of high-performance electrocatalysts even comparable to currently available precious-metal-based catalysts, will be discussed. The ongoing new crown epidemic has greatly increased the risk of virus transmission during routine diagnosis and treatment operations including vascular puncture, which endangers the health of medical staff and the general public. At present, the clinical practice can only be done by manual blood sampling by skilled medical staff, which brings great challenges to medical staff in terms of physical strength and mental stress. Based on the difficulties faced by traditional venipuncture methods, a multi-data fusion intelligent venipuncture blood collection robot was designed and developed, which not only reduces the pressure of medical staff but also improves the success rate of venipuncture. Design a blood sampling robot structure with low coupling and simple control. Using the monocular near-infrared camera to achieve the best view of the XY plane veins. Laser ranging sensor obtains arm skin Z-axis point information, guiding the ultrasonic probe to reach that point to obtain arm skin depth information for blood vessels, so as to get accurate three-dimensional coordinate information veins. The blood sampling robot is controlled by the EtherCAT bus to send the end effector to the arm near the coordinate point to perform venipuncture. During the puncture process, visual guidance and force feedback control are used to ensure the safety of needle sticking. In the experiment, the arm model is used for the puncture experiment to verify the performance index of the robot. Tests show that the blood sampling robot has high venipuncture repeatability and accuracy, which meets application requirements. © 2022 IEEE.

Accurately identifying the position of venous blood vessels under the skin is very important for clinical work, especially to improve the success rate of puncture. This paper proposes an object detection algorithm of blood vessels in ultrasound images, using an ultrasound probe to obtain a B-mode ultrasound image of the elbow vein cross-section, designing an image processing algorithm, and calculating the position of the blood vessel. The algorithm is developed using C++ programming language and implemented using OpenCV image processing framework. Through the upper computer software design, the ultrasonic image and real-time calculation results are displayed in real-time, providing a reference for the puncture work of medical staff. The experimental results show that the algorithm can meet the clinical requirements. When the image imaging quality is high, the accuracy of calculating the position of the blood vessel can reach 98.5%. The average time for a single calculation is 12ms. Applying the algorithm to ultrasound-assisted puncture technology can increase the success rate of puncture and reduce the suffering of patients. © 2022 IEEE.
