Many applications, from logistics to social networks, rely on quickly navigating the shortest pathways inside large-scale graphs. For shortest route finding in huge data settings, this study aims to compare Dijkstra’s method with the Bellman-Ford algorithm. Applying these methods to large datasets will allow us to compare their speed, accuracy, and scalability. Graph density and negative weight cycles are two of the intrinsic properties of big data settings that will be used to determine which method is most suited to each. Optimal algorithm selection for given data situations is guided by insights into each algorithm’s operational strengths and shortcomings, which are revealed via rigorous testing and performance metrics analysis. This comparison helps real-world applications of each method and provides valuable information for future advancements in large data processing shortest route calculation algorithms. In a study comparing Dijkstra’s Algorithm and Bellman-Ford using the RandomGraph1 dataset, the results showed that for nodes $100-500$, the former’s ms value ranged from 5.2 to 52.3 and the latter’s ms value ranged from 6.8 to 68.9. Similarly, for nodes 100-500, the MB value range for Dijkstra’s Algorithm was 10.2-46.7 and for Bellman-Ford, it was 14.8-71.9. Data from a different SparseGraph1 dataset reveals that, for values between 100 and 500, Dijkstra’s Algorithm has a percentage range of 98.5 to 99.8, while for Bellman-Ford, it varies from 97.2 to 99.3.

Multiferroic Dark Excitonic Mott Insulator in the Breathing-Kagome Lattice Material Nb3Cl8

Motivated by the recent discovery of flat bands (FBs) in breathing Kagome lattices (BKLs), we present a detailed first-principles study of the optical response of single-layer (SL) Nb3Cl8 using the GW-Bethe-Salpeter equation (GW-BSE) method, incorporating self-energy corrections and excitonic effects. Our findings reveal a rich spectrum of strongly bound excitons. The key results are fourfold: (i) SL Nb3Cl8 exhibits a dark spin-triplet Frenkel exciton ground state with binding energy substantially larger than the GW-renormalized band gap, giving rise to a negative exciton energy peak at −0.14 eV and indicating an excitonic Mott insulator phase potentially stable at room temperature (kBT = 0.025 eV);(ii) the brightest exciton peak appears at 1.2 eV, in excellent agreement with experimental optical absorption spectra. (iii) We map the low-energy Frenkel exciton system onto a Hubbard model with spin-1 particles on a triangular lattice, resulting in frustrated spin configurations due to antiferromagnetic spin-spin exchange interaction. (iv) As the spin-triplet Frenkel excitons have electric dipoles that interact with each other via electric dipole-dipole interaction, we obtain antiferroelectric ordering, possibly stable at room temperature. Thus, we propose that Nb3Cl8 is a multiferroic dark spin-triplet excitonic Mott insulator. © 2024, CC BY.

Protecting the confidentiality of patient’s personal health information as it is sent and kept in the cloud is of the utmost importance due to the increasing number of telehealth services. This research provides a new healthcare data security approach using cloud computing and the Isolation Forest method. To identify important challenges and provide a novel technique, a thorough literature study on telehealth security, privacy issues, and cloud-based solutions. It uses the Isolation Forest method for anomaly detection in combination with encryption and access restriction systems to identify intrusion attempts. It uses simulated telehealth data in trials to test the system’s work. Findings show substantial gains in privacy and data security with computational burden. Healthcare practitioners and legislators will find results useful in their pursuit of solutions to the problem of securing patients’ private health information throughout the rise of telemedicine.

Power loss and voltage variability are main challenges in distribution systems. But, these difficulties are normally reduced by effectual network reconfiguration comprising the fusion of distributed generation (DG) units from the distribution network. Accordingly, the optimum size and placement of DGs are fundamental. Then, the network efficacy is reduced. This study was conducted to optimal place and size of DGs as a radial distribution network after and before reconfigurations. This study designs an Enhanced Artificial Algae Algorithm based Distributed Generation Placement for Voltage Profile Enhancement (EAAADG-VPE) technique. The presented EAAADG-VPE technique initially designs the EAAA by the integration of AAA with quasi-oppositional based learning (QOBL) concept. The presented EAAADG-VPE technique aims to regularize voltage, and minimizes power losses and penalty costs. For examining the real power system situation, the penalty factor was considered which roles a vital part in the minimized of power loss and increment of voltage profile. The performance validation of the EAAADG-VPE technique stated the enhanced performance over other recent state of art approaches.

This paper presents a new accurate and efficient design methodology for complex integrated lens antenna (ILA), to achieve wide-angle beam coverage with scan loss mitigation at the millimeter-wave (mmWave) spectrum. The proposed ILA comprises inhomogeneous curvatures with internal and external center off-sets, in which multiple parameters instigate high order and non-linear behaviors. A two-dimensional (2-D) ray-tracing model is used to estimate the refractions on the elliptically curved boundaries based on geometrical optics. This approach is integrated into the particle swarm optimization of the 2-D ray-tracing model to determine the near-optimum geometric configuration of the ILA. Denoted as Geometric Optics-based Multiple Scattering (GOMS), the computational memory usage is reduced by a factor of 10,000 using this approach. The devised ILA achieves a wide-angle beam coverage of 156° with a scan loss of 2.10 dB alongside a broad impedance bandwidth of 35.0 GHz to 42.0 GHz. The measurement results for the performance of the fabricated prototype of the ILA validate the wide-angle scanning with scan loss mitigation inferred from the simulation results. This confirms the effectiveness of this method for complex design challenges involving multi-variants and restricted computational resources. © 2016 IEEE.

Abstract: Due to the broad needs for energy as market demands, searching on how to improve the efficiency of the PV systems is an essential concern for researchers to worry about. So, it is crucial to force the PV system to work at its peak power point in order to get the maximum available power from the photovoltaic panel. This paper presents a comprehensive comparison between four Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Algorithms;Perturb and Observe (P&O), Incremental Conductance (INC), Modified Variable Step Size Perturb and Observe (M-VSS-P&O) and Modified Variable Step Size Incremental Conductance (M-VSS-INC) by using of the DC-DC boost converter for three different kinds of solar cells. These cells are polycrystalline KC200GT cell, monocrystalline shell SQ85 cell and thin film shell ST40 cell. Simulations have been performed using MATLAB-SIMULINK for the three types of solar cells to investigate their performance under both standard test conditions (STC) and slowly varying and sudden changes in solar irradiance. The study has considered the response time, output power efficiency and steady-state-oscillations. The simulation results of the modified algorithms show an improvement in the cell performance in steady state conditions, tracking time and boost converter efficiency as well as an enhancement in the dynamic response in tracking the maximum power point (MPP) in varying climatic conditions over conventional algorithms. © 2020, Allerton Press, Inc.

With emerging population and transportation in today's world, traffic has become a challenging issue to be addressed. Most of the metropolitan cities are facing various traffic-related issues. This poses the need for a smart traffic system, which could tackle the external environment and provide energy efficient transportation system. Intelligent transportation system (ITS) is required to support traffic management system in smart cities. The existing systems concentrate on the traffic prediction to yield better results. The work in this paper proposes a Smart Traffic Prediction and Congestion Avoidance System (s-TPCA) which helps in better identification of the traffic scenario that in turn helps in predicting and avoiding the congestion. The proposed work uses Poisson distribution for prediction of vehicle arrivals from recurring size. The framework comprises traffic identification, prediction, and congestion avoidance phases. The system checks for the fitness function to determine the traffic intensity and further use predictive analytics to determine the traffic level in future. This also integrates fuel consumption model to save time and energy. The proposed s-TPCA system outperforms the conventional systems in terms of delay and proves to conserve energy. The fuel conservation is observed to be 20% higher than the other existing systems. © 2022 R. Sathiyaraj et al.

Today, modern unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are equipped with increasingly advanced capabilities that can run applications enabled by machine learning techniques, which require computationally intensive operations such as matrix multiplications. Due to computation constraints, the UAVscan offload their computation tasks to edge servers. To mitigate stragglers, coded distributed computing (CDC) based offloading can be adopted. In this paper, we propose an Optimal Task Allocation Scheme (OTAS) based on Stochastic Integer Programming with the objective to minimize energy consumption during computation offloading. The simulation results show that amid uncertainty of task completion, the energy consumption in the UAV network is minimized.

Depending on how the query is formatted, content and material approaches are utilized to discover photos. Words such "keywords" and "captions" are employed by content search engines totag and locate photographs. Even if it seems like a nice concept, there are number of issues with it. First off, it is quite challenging to sum up picture content in a few words since imaged at a is so rich in information. Second, manually a notating photograph requires a lot of effort. When a collection contains a large number of photos, this operation becomes extremely thing, challenging, and costly. Third, characterizing the appearance of a picture is an extremely subjective task. Finding a picture may be more challenging since an authoring tool and a user could use distinct terms todescribe the same material in the same picture. Thus, content-based image retrieval (CBIR), a technique foridentifying related pictures in a database by examiningtheir visual contents, has become essential. This article explains how to use the Haar transform, K-means clustering, and the Euclidean distance to retrieve photos.
