Stability of optical beats in a chaotically oscillating laser is compared to that of a free-running continuous-wave laser using a highly efficient plasmonic photomixer. Using a chaotically oscillating laser diode, stable optical beats are observed over an operation current range of 60-90 mA. And stability of optical beats near the laser threshold level in a chaotically oscillating laser is also evaluated. The high stability of chaotically oscillating lasers makes these lasers promising candidates for optical pump sources in terahertz time-domain spectroscopy systems. © IEEE 2022.

As data generation increasingly takes place on devices without a wired connection, machine learning (ML) related traffic will be ubiquitous in wireless networks. Many studies have shown that traditional wireless protocols are highly inefficient or unsustainable to support ML, which creates the need for new wireless communication methods. In this survey, we give an exhaustive review of the state-of-the-art wireless methods that are specifically designed to support ML services over distributed datasets. Currently, there are two clear themes within the literature, analog over-the-air computation and digital radio resource management optimized for ML. This survey gives a comprehensive introduction to these methods, reviews the most important works, highlights open problems, and discusses application scenarios. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. Security is an important to process our data in public network. Most of the have the problem of distributed denial of service attacks, the cloud also a witness of facing distributed denial of service attack. The malicious user generates the malicious request to the service provided towards spoiling the performance of the cloud environment. The throughput of any cloud service is upon successful completion of service invocation. If the malicious user initiates the service if is their service without completing, it would be considered as a distributed denial of service attack. Even though there exists the number of trust verification measures enforced like TPA (third-party auditor) in the cloud environment, there is no sufficient improvement for the performance of the cloud. We propose a sequence integrity data algorithm (SIDA) to perform continuous workload scheduling for various attributes with addition privacy identifies forming (PIF-SIDA) algorithm is to enhance the data are split based on domain and stored in cloud storage. From this, the data are shown based on the domain in which the user searches these are implemented the current research trends, and to help stakeholders in the industry the developing field of edge computing. Verifying the identity of the user is not enough to safeguard the service performance. Distributed environment depends the storage security system by verifying the authenticity and auditing to improve the security.

In recent years, Π-conjugated polymer:fullerene-based bulk heterojunction (BHJ) solar cells have received significant attention since combining a narrow P3HT donor and a high electron affinity PCBM acceptor blend could help achieve high efficiencies. In order to compete with other organic solar cell materials, further optimization of P3HT:PCBM-based BHJ has to be done to improve the device's efficiency. This review traces the historical development of bulk heterojunction, architecture, and its PV characterizations, presents the various work functions of the active layer, different charge transport interface layers and electrodes of P3HT:PCBM-based BHJ solar cells, and P3HT:PCBM-based inverted and tandem device structures. Besides, the PCE performance of different material combinations is listed better to understand the P3HT:PCBM-based BHJ solar cells. This review concludes by discussing the optimization of different PV parameters and fabrication technologies of the BHJ. © 2025 International Solar Energy Society

As the solar photovoltaics power system sees rapid growth in terms of installed capacity and plays a significant role in the future global energy mix, its reliability becomes a crucial factor. Manufacturing imperfections and harsh operating environments may compromise the module's structural integrity, leading to performance deterioration and power loss. Therefore, nondestructive inspection becomes an indispensable part of the quality assurance or maintenance program to detect defects at any stage of the module's lifecycle. Ultrasound is an essential method for material inspection, and ultrasonic-guided waves have been long explored as a flaw detection technique on plate-like structures, taking advantage of its long-range detection that yields an efficient inspection process superior to the conventional pulse-echo technique. Inspired by the same idea, this work assesses the prospect of harnessing ultrasonic guided waves to detect cracks in an actual module. However, solar photovoltaic modules contain stacks of a-few-microns-thick layers of different materials that add complexities to the structure. The investigated specimen is a thin-film tandem silicon photovoltaic module with cracks caused during transportation and handling. It, therefore, represents a real-life research case that may occur in situ. Numerical and experimental methods are performed to reveal various Lamb modes that propagate in the structure. Unlike other works, this investigation is not confined to the utilisation of the non-dispersive mode but attempts to find the defect-sensitive mode that can be used to detect cracks. An analysis of the experimental results reveals the mode most sensitive to cracks, while numerical simulations explain the corresponding phenomena. © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Retinal disease is one of the primary causes of visual impairment, and early diagnosis is essential for preventing further deterioration. Nowadays, many works have explored Transformers for diagnosing diseases due to their strong visual representation capabilities. However, retinal diseases exhibit milder forms and often present with overlapping signs, which pose great difficulties for accurate multi-class classification. Therefore, we propose a new framework named Multi-Scale Patch Message Passing Swin Transformer for multi-class retinal disease classification. Specifically, we design a Patch Message Passing (PMP) module based on the Message Passing mechanism to establish global interaction for pathological semantic features and to exploit the subtle differences further between different diseases. Moreover, considering the various scale of pathological features we integrate multiple PMP modules for different patch sizes. For evaluation, we have constructed a new dataset, named OPTOS dataset, consisting of 1,033 high-resolution fundus images photographed by Optos camera and conducted comprehensive experiments to validate the efficacy of our proposed method. And the results on both the public dataset and our dataset demonstrate that our method achieves remarkable performance compared to state-of-the-art methods. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. This study investigates subjects’ behavior in visual audio conflict conditions in stressful and stressless environments. To increase subjects’ stress and anxiety in subjects we placed subjects in a chaotic city and to decrease subjects’ stress we benefit from a green virtual environment. On the other hand to study the effect of sound on physiological data we designed confilict condition in which in the City environment participants heared the sound of Forest and in the Forest nvironment they heared the sound of City. To evaluate our findings we benefit from the heart rate of the participants which is directly related to subjects’ emotions and participants can not involve their opinion to change this feature autonomously.

Role of Data Augmentation Strategies in Knowledge Distillation for Wearable Sensor Data

Deep neural networks are parametrized by several thousands or millions of parameters, and have shown tremendous success in many classification problems. However, the large number of parameters makes it difficult to integrate these models into edge devices such as smartphones and wearable devices. To address this problem, knowledge distillation (KD) has been widely employed, that uses a pre-trained high capacity network to train a much smaller network, suitable for edge devices. In this paper, for the first time, we study the applicability and challenges of using KD for time-series data for wearable devices. Successful application of KD requires specific choices of data augmentation methods during training. However, it is not yet known if there exists a coherent strategy for choosing an augmentation approach during KD. In this paper, we report the results of a detailed study that compares and contrasts various common choices and some hybrid data augmentation strategies in KD based human activity analysis. Research in this area is often limited as there are not many comprehensive databases available in the public domain from wearable devices. Our study considers databases from small scale publicly available to one derived from a large scale interventional study into human activity and sedentary behavior. We find that the choice of data augmentation techniques during KD have a variable level of impact on end performance, and find that the optimal network choice as well as data augmentation strategies are specific to a dataset at hand. However, we also conclude with a general set of recommendations that can provide a strong baseline performance across databases. © 2021, CC BY.
