W-type barium-nickel ferrite(BaNi_(2)Fe_(16)O_(27))is a highly promising material for electromagnetic wave(EMW)absorption be-cause of its magnetic loss capability for EMW,low cost,large-scale production potential,high-temperature resistance,and excellent chemical ***,the poor dielectric loss of magnetic ferrites hampers their utilization,hindering enhancement in their EMW-absorption *** efficient strategies that improve the EMW-absorption performance of ferrite is highly desired but re-mains ***,an efficient strategy substituting Ba^(2+)with rare earth La^(3+)in W-type ferrite was proposed for the preparation of novel La-substituted ferrites(Ba_(1-x)LaxNi_(2)Fe_(15.4)O_(27)).The influences of La^(3+)substitution on ferrites’EMW-absorption performance and the dissipative mechanism toward EMW were systematically explored and ***^(3+)efficiently induced lattice defects,enhanced defect-induced polarization,and slightly reduced the ferrites’bandgap,enhancing the dielectric properties of the ***^(3+)also enhanced the ferromagnetic resonance loss and strengthened magnetic *** effects considerably improved the EMW-absorption perform-ance of Ba_(1-x)LaxNi_(2)Fe_(15.4)O_(27)compared with pure W-type *** x=0.2,the best EMW-absorption performance was achieved with a minimum reflection loss of-55.6 dB and effective absorption bandwidth(EAB)of 3.44 GHz.

Nanophotonic structures, such as photonic crystals, plasmonic nanostructures, and metamaterials, present transformative potential in advancing optical devices through innovative design capabilities. Among these, metamaterials—specifically metal–insulator–metal (MIM)-based absorbers—stand out for their ability to achieve high electromagnetic wave absorption across designated frequencies, proving valuable in applications ranging from solar cells to sensors. This study focuses on designing a high-efficiency MXene–SiO2–silver MIM metasurface absorber, leveraging deep learning techniques to streamline and enhance the simulation process traditionally reliant on finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) or finite-element methods (FEMs). By utilizing a deformable convolutional neural network (CNN), the proposed model predicts absorption spectra from metasurface geometries with superior accuracy and reduced computational demand while achieving dynamic spatial transformation handling. The model’s accuracy is further elucidated through Gradient-weighted Class Activation Mapping (Grad-CAM), which provides insights into the absorber’s most influential regions, supporting targeted optimization for specific applications. This deep learning approach demonstrates significant advantages over conventional methods in efficiency and adaptability, advancing the development of high-performance nanophotonic devices. © 2025 Optica Publishing Group. Prevalent use of motion capture(MoCap)produces large volumes of data and MoCap data retrieval becomes crucial for efficient data *** clips may not be neatly segmented and labeled,increasing the difficulty of *** order to effectively retrieve such data,we propose an elastic content-based retrieval scheme via unsupervised posture encoding and strided temporal alignment(PESTA)in this *** retrieves similarities at the sub-sequence level,achieves robustness against singular frames and enables control of tradeoff between precision and *** firstly learns a dictionary of encoded postures utilizing unsupervised adversarial autoencoder techniques and,based on which,compactly symbolizes any MoCap ***,it conducts strided temporal alignment to align a query sequence to repository sequences to retrieve the best-matching sub-sequences from the ***,it extends to find matches for multiple sub-queries in a long query at sharply promoted efficiency and minutely sacrificed *** performance of the proposed scheme is well demonstrated by experiments on two public MoCap datasets and one MoCap dataset captured by ourselves.

Pushing artificial intelligence(AI) from central cloud to network edge has reached board consensus in both industry and academia for materializing the vision of artificial intelligence of things(AIoT) in the sixth-generation(6G) era. This gives rise to an emerging research area known as edge intelligence, which concerns the distillation of human-like intelligence from the vast amount of data scattered at the wireless network edge. Typically, realizing edge intelligence corresponds to the processes of sensing, communication,and computation, which are coupled ingredients for data generation, exchanging, and processing, ***, conventional wireless networks design the three mentioned ingredients separately in a task-agnostic manner, which leads to difficulties in accommodating the stringent demands of ultra-low latency, ultra-high reliability, and high capacity in emerging AI applications like auto-driving and metaverse. This thus prompts a new design paradigm of seamlessly integrated sensing, communication, and computation(ISCC) in a taskoriented manner, which comprehensively accounts for the use of the data in downstream AI tasks. In view of its growing interest, this study provides a timely overview of ISCC for edge intelligence by introducing its basic concept, design challenges, and enabling techniques, surveying the state-of-the-art advancements, and shedding light on the road ahead.

Physical layer covert communication is a crucial secure communication technology that enables a transmitter to convey information covertly to a recipient without being detected by adversaries. Unlike typical cryptography and physical layer security systems that concentrate on protecting the sent signal content, covert communications seek to conceal the existence of legitimate transmission. Thus, with beyond fifth-generation (B5G) wireless communications, covert communications can operate in tandem or as a supplement to conventional security techniques. We provide an extensive overview of the basic theories and several strategies in physical layer covert communications in this article. In particular, we go into great detail about the basic theories of physical layer covert communications, such as channel models, codes, secret keys, and covertness metrics, as well as various covert schemes in progressively more complicated scenarios, such as covert communications in single-antenna and multiantenna three-node systems and covert communications in jammer- and relay-aided systems. In addition, we identify the challenges and future directions for research on covert communications in B5G wireless networks. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Crop diseases pose significant challenges to global food security and agricultural sustainability. Timely and accurate disease detection is crucial for effective disease management and minimizing crop losses. In recent years, hyperspectral imaging has emerged as a promising technology for non-destructive and early disease detection in crops. This research paper presents an advanced deep learning approach for enhancing crop disease detection using hyperspectral imaging. The primary objective is to propose a hybrid Autoencoder-Generative Adversarial Network (AE-GAN) model that effectively extracts meaningful features from hyperspectral images and addresses the limitations of existing techniques. The hybrid AE-GAN model combines the strengths of the Autoencoder for feature extraction and the Generative Adversarial Network for synthetic sample generation. Through extensive evaluation, the proposed model outperforms existing techniques, achieving exceptional accuracy in crop disease detection. The results demonstrate the superiority of the hybrid AE-GAN model, offering substantial advantages in terms of feature extraction, synthetic sample generation, and utilization of spatial and spectral information. The proposed model’s contributions to sustainable agriculture and global food security make it a valuable tool for advancing agricultural practices and enhancing crop health monitoring. With its promising implications, the hybrid AE-GAN model represents a significant advancement in crop disease detection, paving the way for a more resilient and food-secure future. © 2024 – IOS Press. Machine learning, a vital part of artificial intelli-gence, improves our ability to make predictions from complex data. The success of these predictions relies heavily on the model's fit with its data and the data's consistency. Accurate predictions depend on closely matching the model to the data patterns. However, missing data can seriously disrupt the accuracy of predictions, causing errors. To address this, we recommend adopting a proposed framework that enhances predictions by effectively filling in missing data. Our objective is to refine the accuracy of our predictions, especially in scenarios where the data might be incomplete and features exhibit patterns of dependency. In the context of missing data, our approach concentrates on enhancing regression performance to minimize the effects of missing data as effectively as possible. © 2024 IEEE.
