Tunable Magnetic Anisotropy, Half-Metallicity and Tunneling Magnetoresistance Effect of 2d Cri3 in Cri3/Mngex3 (X= Se, Te) Heterostructures Under Normal Compressive Strain

The induction of half-metallicity and tunable magnetic anisotropy of CrI3 monolayers remains challenging and unstable. In this study, we demonstrate that half-metallic CrI3 can be induced in a CrI3/MnGeX3(X = Se, Te) heterostructure by interlayer charge transfer. Normal compressive (NC) strain can effectively control the half-metallic band gap, magnetic anisotropy and spin-polarized electronic transport of CrI3 in CrI3/MnGeSe3. At 6% strain, the easy magnetization axis of CrI3 changes from out-of-plane to in-plane, and the half-metallic band gap increases by 20%. The results of band structure, force theorem, charge density and work function calculations show that CrI3 in CrI3/MnGeSe3 loses electrons to form a hole-conducting half-metal, while CrI3 gains electrons in CrI3/MnGeTe3 to form an electron-conducting half-metal. Heterointerfacial half-metallicity in CrI3 is intrinsic without any external physical modification, and the NC strain of a two-dimensional structure can easily be realized experimentally, paving the way for further research of spintronic devices. © 2022, The Authors. This paper considers the antenna arrays calibration by the using of the Recursive Least Squares (RLS) adaptive filtering algorithms. An algorithm, based on the inverse QR decomposition, has been selected among the diversity of the RLS algorithms. This is caused by its stable operation. Because the algorithm contains the computationally heavy square root operations, a square root free version of the algorithm is also presented. Both versions of the QR RLS algorithms are mathematically identical to each other if they operate in float point arithmetic. The proposed calibration can be used in the antenna arrays with digital beamforming, because the algorithms usage requires the access to the array channel signals. The calibration requires a known training signal, which can be easily provided not only in a laboratory environment, but also in a field operation, if an array is used as a directional antenna of the digital communication system equipment. In the second case, the calibration can be also conducted even in the presence of the interference signal sources. Simulation validates the proposed calibration algorithm, using linear antenna arrays with 4, 8 and 16 antennas with a half wavelength distance between the neighbor antennas. In this simulation, the array channel noise has been varied in 0.. 30 dB range of the Signal-to-Noise Ratio. Two interference sources with the-30 dB Signal-to-Interference Ratio each have been simulated. These sources were located symmetrically relatively the required main lobe direction of the array radiation pattern. A training signal has been simulated as a random one with no specific autocorrelation properties. The signal has been modulated by the Phase Shift Keying (PSK) and the Quadrature Amplitude Modulation. © 2020 IEEE.

This paper explores the application of the adaptive filtering algorithms, based on Least Squares (LS) criterion for the calibration of the receiving arrays with digital beamforming. The digital beamforming assumes the access to the signals in the array channels as a requirement, which has to be provided if the adaptive signal processing is used. In this case, the adaptive filtering algorithms, based on the minimization of the LS error between the desired and array output signals, are able to estimate the channel parameter spread, which values can be stored and used for correction of the array weights during the beam steering. If a set of steered beam positions is known, for example in scanning arrays, the proposed algorithm allows to create a codebook of the array weights, which ensures the random variation of channel's parameters compensation and correct beam steering. The architecture of the proposed solution and mathematical description of a Recursive Least Squares (RLS) adaptive filtering algorithm, on which the calibration is based on, are presented. The algorithm uses a dynamic regularization of the array input signal correlation matrix. No specific correlation properties are required for the algorithm training signal. The simulation results demonstrate the ability of the calibration algorithm to compensate the channel's parameters spread. If the array channel Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) is 0... 30 dB, then the achieved spread of the calibrated channels gain errors is about -20 dB. The norm of the ideal and calibrated array difference is also about -20 dB. The results are obtained with the Phase Shift Keying (PSK) and Quadrature Amplitude Modulated (QAM) training signals. The ability of the proposed calibration algorithm to operate in interference conditions is also demonstrated © 2020 IEEE.

In the paper, the authors describe the improved operational amplifier architecture (op-amp). Complementary FETs with the p-n-junction control were used in the design of this op-amp, depletion-mode complementary MOS can also be used. The character of the suggested op-amp is to create conditions that contribute to obtaining low systematical constituent offset voltage (V off ), which significantly depends on the change in the drain-gate specifications of transistors when the static voltages on their drains change. It should be noted that the high symmetric of the static regimen of the input transistors and output transistors of the folded-cascode of the suggested op-amp is supplied to reduce this constituent V off in the considered op-amp circuit. Computer modelling of the op-amp carried out in the LTSpice was fulfilled in the large range of temperatures (from -197°C to 27°C). The suggested circuit design minimizes the systematical constituent V off (below 30 µV) and increases the open-loop gain of op-amp to 60 dB. The JFET op-amp circuitry suggested in the paper is advised to analog-to-digital and analog interfaces, incl. those operating at exposure to radiation and low temperatures.

A new notch filter (NF) circuit based on a single differential difference operational amplifier (DDA) has been developed and studied, which is characterized by reduced current consumption in the static mode. Equations are obtained for the transfer functions and parameters of the NF, which includes a low-pass filter and a Sallen-Key high-pass filter, the signals of which are summed by the DDA. A new high-pass filter (HPF) circuit of the second-order Sallen-Key family has been developed and studied, in which independent adjustment of the main parameters is realized -the pole frequency, the quality factor of the pole and the transmission coefficient. The basic equations for the transfer functions and HPF parameters are presented. Kinetic inductance detectors (KIDs) are superconducting energy-resolving detectors, sensitive to single photons from the near-infrared to ultraviolet. We study a hybrid KID design consisting of a β-phase tantalum (β-Ta) inductor and a Nb−Ti−N interdigitated capacitor. The devices show an average intrinsic quality factor Qi of 4.3×105±1.3×105. To increase the power captured by the light-sensitive inductor, we 3D print an array of 150×150μm resin microlenses on the backside of the sapphire substrate. The shape deviation between design and printed lenses is smaller than 1μm, and the alignment accuracy of this process is δx=+5.8±0.5μm and δy=+8.3±3.3μm. We measure a resolving power for 1545–402 nm that is limited to 4.9 by saturation in the KID’s phase response. We can model the saturation in the phase response with the evolution of the number of quasiparticles generated by a photon event. An alternative coordinate system that has a linear response raises the resolving power to 5.9 at 402 nm. We verify the measured resolving power with a two-line measurement using a laser source and a monochromator. We discuss several improvements that can be made to the devices on a route towards KID arrays with high resolving powers.

New second order high-pass filter of the Sallen-Key family circuit is considered, where there is unrelated tune of generic parameters by a digitally controlled resistor - the pole frequency, Q-factor pole and the scale transfer coefficient. The basic mathematical expressions of transfer function for proposed high-pass filter are obtained. A comparison of the parameters of the known and new schemes is given. A Sallen-Key high-pass filter circuit based on a high-frequency emitter follower has been developed. The results of high-pass filter modeling in the Micro-Cap 12 environment using the OP37 operational amplifier and an ideal buffer amplifier are presented. Computer simulation has shown that the pole frequency is adjusted by resistor R5. Adjusting the pole attenuation is possible by changing the resistor R3, while the pole attenuation frequency unchanged, an increase in R3 leads to an increase of the pole attenuation.

Two promising modifications of the multi-functional programmable active filters (PAF) are developed and investigated. The proposed PAF circuits of second order are implemented on the operational amplifiers and have an increased stability of the Q-factor. The basic equations and the results of computer simulation are presented, showing that the developed circuits implement band-pass filters (BPF), low-pass filters (LPF) and high-pass filters (HPF). New modifications of the PAFs allow resetting of the pole frequency using resistor arrays R-2R or digital potentiometer microcircuits. A comparison of the main characteristics of the proposed PAF and the PAF based on famous KHN filters is given. © 2020 IEEE.

The evolution of the coding unit module from the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) video standards to the Joint Exploration Model (JEM) extensively enhanced compression performance while severely increases coding complexity caused by the brute force search built on Rate Distortion Optimization (RDO). Effectively, compared to the predecessor HEVC standard that makes use of the quad-tree (QT) block partitioning module, the novel quad-tree binary-tree (QTBT) block partitioning process proposed within the JEM encoder uses additional block sizes and shapes which induces additional flexibility. In this paper, we suggest a deep convolutional neural network (CNN) based method to reduce the block partitioning module complexity for both HEVC and JEM encoders at all intra-configurations. The results show that the CNN approach leads to better optimization performance with the HEVC encoder reaching up to 59%. However, the CNN model is more robust with several JEM versions.
