Identification of magnetite nanoparticles synthesized from natural iron sand with a chemical treatment that is by using thecoprecipitation method on temperature and heated spaces, using a pair of acids and bases, i.e. HCL as a solvent NH4OH and as its precipation. The Crystal structure, the percentage of elements, the particle size and properties of the magnetism material characterization by XRD, XRF identification testing, and permagraph. From the results obtained in the Analysis that the value of the percentage purity of Fe3O4 are derived from Natural Sands before Extraction is of 81.42%, and once on extract 86.73% increase to its purity. From the results of the analysis of properties of ferrite magnet to Fe3O4from sand iron retrieved the value of Saturation Magnetization (Ms) produced amounted to 0.29 T, or residual magnetization Remanence (Br) of 0081 T, and Coercivityy(Hc) amounted to 1.82 kA/m expected data analysis results may explain the comparison characteristics in structure and magnetic properties of material with a natural sand Fe3O4 Aldrich so it can be an additional related information value added (added value) the local SDA. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this study, fabrication of mesoporous nanocellulose-hectorite-alginate bead (B-NcH) composites and their application for adsorption of MB from water was carried out. The synthesis of nanocellulose (NC) was conducted from mangosteen waste peel (Garcinia mangostana L.). Garcinia mangostana L. peel had 58.9 ± 0,41 % content of cellulose. NCs was successfully isolated using the acid hydrolysis method. NC from Garcinia mangostana L. peel had a diameter of 24.5 ± 0.2 nm and a length of 381.2 ± 10.4 nm. The superabsorbent was composed of nanocrystalline cellulose, mesoporous hectorite, and alginate. The functional group, phase, and morphology of composite was investigated. The composite with 5 % NC had excellent mechanical strength. The B-NcH5 showed a high adsorption capacity of methylene blue (MB), reaching 98.64 % at an adsorbent dose of 30 mg for 90 min. The presence of hectorite can increase the adsorption ability compared to NCs-alginate. The equilibrium adsorption data followed the Freundlich isotherm;however, the kinetics of adsorption showed the usefulness of adopting the PSO kinetic model. The highest adsorption capacity of B-NcH5 for MB was determined to be 57.59 mg/g. For thermodynamic studies, it was revealed that the adsorption of MB on BNcH-5 is a spontaneous and endothermic process. The removal efficiency was observed in six consecutive cycles, indicating at the favorable reusability of this adsorbent. These results validate the potential use of this B-NcH5 adsorbent for water treatment applications. © 2024

Success in implement irrigation area management activities is highly dependent on data availability. The existence of a realtime, fast, and accurate information is very important. The data and information needed must be easily accessible to interested parties. Development of an irrigation network information system is carried out by converting data into coordinate form using ArcGIS software. Visual studio software is used to display all data that has been processed. Spatial-based irrigation network information systems built using ArcGIS and Visual Studio software can easily obtain information about channel conditions, rating curves, channel profiles and channel photos. the availability of spatial-based irrigation network information systems facilitates the management of irrigation networks. © 2019 IOP Publishing Ltd. Variational quantum circuit-based quantum machine learning approach for predicting corrosion inhibition efficiency of pyridine-quinoline compounds

This work used a variational quantum circuit (VQC) in conjunction with a quantitative structure-property relationship (QSPR) model to completely investigate the corrosion inhibition efficiency (CIE) displayed by pyridine-quinoline compounds acting as corrosion inhibitors. Compared to conventional methods like multilayer perceptron neural networks (MLPNN), the VQC model predicts the CIE more accurately. With a coefficient of determination (R 2 ), root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), and mean absolute deviation (MAD) values of 0.989, 0.027, 0.024, and 0.019, respectively, VQC performs better. The established VQC model predicts the CIE with outstanding predictive accuracy for four newly synthesized pyrimidine derivative compounds: 1-(4-fluorophenyl)- 3-(4-(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)phenyl)urea (P1) , 1-phenyl-3-(4-(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)phenyl)urea (P2) , 1-(4-methylphenyl)-3-(4-(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)phenyl)urea (P3) , and quaternary ammonium salt dimer (P4) . It generates remarkably high CIE values of 92.87, 94.05, 94.96, and 96.93 for P1, P2, P3, and P4, respectively. With its ability to streamline the testing and production processes for novel anti-corrosion materials, this innovative approach holds the potential to revolutionize the market.

Sago starch produced in South Sulawesi has limited applications, including the loss of viscosity under low pH conditions, high temperature, or mechanical treatment. Physical modification to change the physicochemical characteristic of sago starch without destroying its granular structure is Heat-Moisture Treatment (HMT). HMT method was heating temperature variation treatment. During HMT, sago starch granular at low moisture levels is heated. This research of engineering technology means to physically modify sago starch by using different Heat Moisture Treatment (HMT), which in due course obtained sago starch with physiochemistry appropriate for specific application and consequently could be manufactured as raw materials for popular foods such as bread, various kinds of noodles, and biscuits.

A declining trend of Samosir Panorusan goat population has been identified. As the Panorusan is an endemic and endangered species goat where the pure breed only 250,000 heads left, a research was conducted in order to find the cause factors for declining trend of population from April to June 2018 in Pangururan District, Samosir Regency. The method used was multiple linier regression analysis with variabel limitations such as goat feed, disease, breeders'experience, local culture and marketing rate of productive ewe. This research was conducted by asking directly to Panorusan goat breeders. The total of 55 goat breeders was divided into 2-3 breeders/villages. The results of this study indicated that the variable of local culture was significantly as a dominant factor that causing a declining trend of Samosir Panorusan goat population. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Modelling groundwater inflow into an underground mining from ore bodies hydraulically interconnected with surface water

Underground mining of ore bodies that are hydraulically interconnected with surface water bodies is usually a serious problem, as it can cause groundwater inflow into the working front of underground mining with unlimited flow rates. Hydraulic interconnection between groundwater and surface water can occur through fracture networks or secondary structures in the direction of ore bodies, which usually have greater hydraulic conductivity than wall rocks, thus acting as conductors with surface water bodies. Under these conditions, groundwater inflow into the mining front is substantial. This study focuses on modelling groundwater inflow from ore bodies that are hydraulically interconnected with surface water bodies because they are accessed through cross-cuts or other underground mining infrastructures. Access to the ore body causes water to run out, which in this study is modelled as drainage. Several drainage models and the application of drainage in a finite element model of groundwater inflow are studied.

Integrated Pore Pressure Model Estimation – Case study of Jambi Sub-basin, South Sumatera, Indonesia

Pore pressure estimation is crucial in drilling wells for safety purposes also a very effective method for dealing with drilling accidents. Determination of overpressure is the main foundation in the evaluation to minimize the non-productive time (NPT). Here we present several models to generate pore pressure analysis of well from Jambi Sub-basin, South Sumatera, Indonesia. The model for estimation pore pressure is carried out by 3 methods: Eaton, Yan & Han, and Kan & Swan. Those methods will be compared to gain a more accurate model estimation within the study area. Kan and Swan's model show the best fit for estimation because this method is suitable for the formation of tester like MDT/DST on higher frequency with parameter of C1 = 0.001 and C2 = 0.0003 for Jambi Sub-basin. The velocity data to construct the 3D pore pressure model was also validated with well data using multi-attribute analysis. The multi-attribute analysis used 2 algorithms, namely step-wise regression and probabilistic neural network (PNN). The analysis show that PNN has a better correlation compared to step-wise regression. The analysis shows the overpressure zone depth is ranges from 1700 – 2000m on Gumai Formation with maximum pressure around 6500 psi. The peak of overpressure dominated by Gumai and Talang Akar formation is caused by the loading mechanism because the rate of sedimentation on thick shale sequence is higher than the rate of dewatering on those formations.

Salted eggs in Indonesia are produced using duck eggs, but in this research salted egg are examined using layer chicken egg especially for diversification and effort to improve its added value. This research aims to examine production of layer chicken salted egg in different temperature processes and its finansial feasibility. The results show that the most suitable temperature process for layer chicken salted egg is 45°C for 4 days based on organoleptic test result on egg yolk, egg white, and overall performance.

The dehydration of ethanol into diethyl ether over a SO4/SiO2 catalyst was investigated. The SO4/SiO2 catalysts were prepared by the sulfation method using 1, 2, and 3 M of sulfuric acid (SS1, SS2, and SS3) via hydrothermal treatment. This study is focused on the synthesis of a SO4/SiO2 catalyst with high total acidity that can be subsequently utilized to convert ethanol into diethyl ether. The total acidity test revealed that the sulfation process increased the total acidity of SiO2. The SS2 catalyst (with 2 M sulfuric acid) displayed the highest total acidity of 7.77 mmol/g, whereas the SiO2 total acidity was only 0.11 mmol/g. Meanwhile, the SS3 catalyst (with 3 M sulfuric acid) has a lower total acidity of 7.09 mmol/g due to the distribution of sulfate groups on the surface having reached its optimum condition. The crystallinity and structure of the SS2 catalyst were not affected by the hydrothermal treatment or the sulfate process on silica. Furthermore, The SS2 catalyst characteristics in the presence of sulfate lead to a flaky surface in the morphology and non-uniform particle size. In addition, the surface area and pore volume of the SS2 catalyst decreased (482.56–172.26 m2/g) and (0.297–0.253 cc/g), respectively, because of the presence of sulfate on the silica surface. The SS2 catalyst's pore shape information explains the formation of non-uniform pore sizes and shapes. Finally, the activity and selectivity of SO4/SiO2 catalysts in the conversion of ethanol to diethyl ether yielded the highest ethanol conversion of 70.01% and diethyl ether product of 9.05% from the SS2 catalyst (the catalyst with the highest total acidity). Variations in temperature reaction conditions (175–225 °C) show an optimum reaction temperature to produce diethyl ether at 200 °C (11.36%). © 2023 Elsevier Ltd
