LArising in online environment lately due to frequent dynamic pricing in presence of strategic customer, pulsed demand increases the risk of a retailer as it is large and highly uncertain. Moreover, it shifts between periods because of customer strategic behavior. This paper, from the perspective of a risk-averse retailer, establishes a procurement model and a strategic customer demand model, to analyze the effects of strategic customer, pricing and risk aversion on order quantity, profit and risk. Some useful conclusions for procurement risk control are drawn in the setting of two-period. Selling price of period 1 affects order quantity of period 2, when strategic customer ratio is independent of prices;while all selling prices affect all order quantities when dependent. Order quantity in period 1 (period 2) decreases (increases) in strategic customer ratio, which would be less sensitive when the retailer is more risk-averse. Besides, risk-aversion procurement can effectively and significantly mitigate risk without much loss of profit, especially when strategic customer ratio is large.

Milling cutters with fir-slot (fir tree cutters) are widely used in the high speed machining of blade-root and rotor-groove. The complicated structures and multitudinous specification sizes make it difficult to achieve an accurate three-dimensional (3-D) parameterised modelling of the cutter. In this paper, the conical helix and radial cross-sectional curves are expressed mathematically based on geometric curve and surface theory. The radial geometric angles are calculated from the normal angles based on the analysis of the relationship between radial section and normal section. Finally, rapid computer aided engineering (CAE) software are realised. The results show that the established mathematical model can efficiently express the fir tree cutters, which improves the efficiency and accuracy of cutter design. Fracturing is one of the key stimulation treatment techniques with wide application prospect for oil-gas well and is a kind of main form of natural gas exploitation currently, which is especially important for development of shale gas. However, the noise generated in the process of fracturing operation may impact the site operators and residents in the periphery. The typical fracturing operation process is selected in this paper to implement the actual measurement of noise and record such relevant parameters as operation condition and ambient environment. Based on the computation method of outdoor acoustic transmission attenuation, Cadna/A ambient noise simulation software is utilized to establish the acoustic environment simulation simplification model for certain oil well fracturing operation, implement the simulation study for noise impact distribution condition in the process of fracturing operation construction and perform the contrastive analysis for actually-measured value on the site. The result shows that the site operator's contact noise value is higher than the occupational exposure limit in National Occupational Sanitary Standard GBZ 2.2-2007 Occupational Exposure Limit for Harmful Factors in Workplace and the noise produced during operation in the daytime doesn't meet the emission limit in National Standard GB 12348-2008 Emission Standard for Ambient Noise at the Boundary of Industrial Enterprise. Therefore, in combination with the actual fracturing operation, the reasonable noise prevention and control measures are proposed. The study result of this paper has certain reference value for prediction and assessment of fracturing operation noise. © 2016 IEEE.

Analysis of software licensing mode and compatibility choice with network externality

With network externality, two licensing modes-perpetual licensing mode and Softwareas-a-Service mode, and four compatibility choices-no compatibility, backward compatibility, forward compatibility and backward & forward compatibility, are considered. Consumers' purchasing decision and the vendor's pricing strategy are examined through two-stage models under each combination of licensing mode and compatibility choice. The results show that backward & forward compatibility maximizes the vendor's revenue under perpetual licensing mode, and any of no compatibility, backward compatibility and backward & forward compatibility may maximize the vendor's profit with software development costs under different compatibility choices. Under Software-as-a-Service mode, the compatibility choice has no impact on the vendor's revenue, and no compatibility maximizes the vendor's profit. When revenue maximization is the vendor's concern, perpetual licensing mode is superior to Software-as-a-Service mode;when profit maximization is the vendor's objective, Software-as-a-Service mode usually becomes better than perpetual licensing mode. © 2015, Systems engineering Society of China. Flax fiber reinforced polymer (FFRP) composites could be used in civil engineering as structural materials. To improve the mechanical properties and durability of FFRP, flax-basalt hybrid fiber reinforced polymer (HFRP) composite was developed. In the present study, unidirectional HFRP tubes were prepared with a winding process, and the compression performances of the concrete filled HFRP tubes were investigated. HFRP coupon was prepared and tested in tensile properties. The tensile results of the HFRP plate coupons shows linear in stress-strain, and hybrid with basalt fiber enhances the elongation at break remarkably. The tensile strength and modulus of the HFRP follow the rule of mixture. The concrete filled HFRP tubes exhibited much improved ultimate strength and ductility compared to those with the flax fiber tubes. The axial compression stress-strain curves were analyzed with the existing models. The coefficients of confinement of HFRP were higher than those of glass or carbon fiber based FRPs. © APFIS 2015. Ultrasonic is one important factor of ultrasonic wire bonding process, which is widely used in semiconductor packaging industry. control effect of ultrasonic power determines the quality and speed of wire bonding. Based on analysis of ultrasonic frequency characteristics and current response, this paper proposes a closed-loop control method of automatic frequency tracking and output current control, to improve the effectiveness of ultrasonic power, shorten the response time, and enhance the stability of ultrasonic generation. Automatic frequency tracking is based on phase lock method. Phase difference of voltage and current signals works as the feedback of the close-loop control of frequency to realize automatic frequency tracking and ensure that the ultrasonic transducer always works at resonance point. And output current control is working at constant current mode so that the vibration amplitude of ultrasonic can be better controlled by adjusting the ultrasonic current. The experimental results show that with the frequency automatic tracking method, the ultrasonic transducer system can achieve wider frequency bands, with faster phase locking and higher tracking precision. With close loop control, real-time tracking can be realized and less rise time and less overshoot of ultrasonic current can be achieved.

In this paper, a discrete mathematical approach to solve scheduling of multi-pipeline systems for petroleum products under demand uncertainty is presented. To deal with the uncertainty, the conditional value-at-risk(CVAR) analysis is adopted as a risk measure. Firstly an improved scheduling approach is proposed to model the multi-pipeline system with the consideration of different pipeline segment sizes. The improved formulation is computationally intractable when pipeline segments have distinct capacities. Then the model takes a scenario-based approach to cope with uncertainty in a CVAR framework. Computational results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. All the instances are implemented using CPLEX.

This paper presents an innovative method for rejecting multiple narrow-band disturbances in nano-manipulating servo systems. The proposed control scheme consists of a robust controller and a multiple optimal phase filter structure. The baseline robust controller is synthesized with mixed sensitivity optimization for the purpose of robust stability and servo performance.A novel adaptive digital multiple optimal phase filter structure is then developed with a parallel connection, such that online estimation and suppression of the narrow-band disturbances with unknown or time-varying frequencies can be achieved without sacrificing the stability robustness of the closed-loop systems. The proposed control scheme is evaluated via simulations and implemented on a piezoelectric-actuator driven nanopositioner, where high precision positioning is demonstrated in the presence of both unmodeled dynamics and multiple disturbances.
